Couldn’t finish this. The video with Elijah is deeply upsetting. He appears to be neurodivergent and was just existing not doing anything wrong. He respectfully asserts his boundaries and explains that he’s just going home. There shouldn’t have been a call made in the first place, the police should not have been there, none of that should have occurred. God, that’s horrible.

@@robert29tiif someone is neurodivergent HIGH FUNCTIONING OR NOT they aren’t gonna get why they are being approached like that when they’ve done NOTHING WRONG. That is literally my biggest fear as my older brother is neurodivergent and when people approach him already on 100 that freaks the f*ck out. It takes neurodivergent people a little bit longer to understand intense situations like that.
Your “stop and explain it’s not that hard” is so f*cking ableist as some neurodivergent people (like my brother) when they get so freaked out can’t even form proper sentences and start stuttering which makes things even worse. Some police officers (NOT ALL POLICE OFFICERS) need to work on their de-escalation skills instead of going guns a-blazing which always makes the situation worse.

It is intentionally misleading. The bodycams do have raw footage and the "heavily edited" part is done by the media and media officers within the PD so they won't get hit by fines from broadcasting companies. You can easily request the full, unedited bodycam footage from the police station under the freedom of information act.

      @@SamaraScenebuilds
Yup you can certainly ask but it's that whole state vs state thing. The state can decide on what the specific laws are. Alot of police stations will give you the cam but not until after all court proceedings are done.
Some will even try to charge you a retrieval fee. Some stations will willingly just hand it to you but its usually a little bit of a hassle and usually will cost you even though. Texas has that specific law but these cops don't give a damn. They're not going to openly hand you something that can incriminate them even if they're "legally" supposed to.
Money is the easiest way to get footage online. Anyone can go an ask their local station but it's really gojng to be at their discretion. They dont care about laws when its pertains to them.

Agreed, but my other issue with body cameras is that they are apparently so easily removed from their harnesses/belts that they come off in the mildest scuffles. They are literally designed for the purpose of securing evidence, yet they don't secure them the same as their firearms, cuffs, or other equipment. The only other thing I've ever seen fall off an officer is their radio, and those still fall off less than the body cams.

for the first one, people need to understand that the most dangerous call that police officers respond to is not bank robberies or murderers but **domestic violence** calls. Shots were fired, callers confirmed an injured civilian, this is equivalent to an active shooter situation. saying that police need to use "deescalation tactics" during this rather than rushing in and eliminating the threat is just stupid, especially if the guy reaches for the gun himself. Agent Twelve is also being misleading by saying "If the 911 operative told the officers about a third call..." He actively says the call was on-going as police got on-scene. Therefore there was no time to relay the information that there was no injured civilian. Also "conflicting orders"?? Listening back, the only orders given was "Show me your hands!" "On the ground now!" and "Face Down Now!" or "Gun!" to alert the fellow officers. Not once did they say "Touch/grab the gun!". Agent Twelve saying that "the general public says that the man was not a threat." Despite slapping his wife, shooting a gun an grabbing it in front of officers is just plain wrong.

      @reaperscythe4579 3 місяці тому +3

I agree. It's easy to look back and pick apart the situation when you have all the information but the police didn't. They had to act on what they did have. They were told there was a violent man with a gun and an injured woman who he shot, then they got there and heard the yelling. We can analyse this footage while we're safe in our homes but they were right there and had to make a split second decision when he reached for his gun. It doesn't matter that he looked like he was just showing that he was armed and was maybe just reaching for the gun to put it on the ground. We don't know that for sure and the police certainly didn't.

My thoughts exactly. He also claims the Elijah footage showed an officer saying to "leave" his camera, when he clearly said to "MOVE" his camera, and was telling the other officer who's gun Elijah tried to grab. I'm unsubbing to this channel, as it seems to make unsubstantiated, out of context claims about LE.

I worked in a psych ward and the last one just breaks my heart. I've done several de-escalations with patients that sound exactly like Richard. Our goal is always to try and verbally de-escalate, but sometimes that just isn't enough. If the patient starts to get phsycally agressive to either themselves or others, then we need to do what my facility called "Hands On." When that happens we have to physically restrain them. It is a god awful thing to do and it, very understanably, traumatizes the patient and usually destroys any trust/report that we had with them. If you believe every single person is out to get you, then why would you believe a word that comes out of their mouth. What happened to Richard is truly horrible, but the I firmly believe the police did all they could while trying to keep others safe.

My son for example has mental health issues and can’t be touched and freaks out if someone yells and if a cop were to grab him and start yelling he would react and probably try to fight them off cuz he’s schizoaffective, and would believe that they were trying to kill him or that they were not human that they were monsters trying to get them, but I noticed the introvert man was telling them basically he was introvert and how he has problems, but they wouldn’t listen I’m just completely floored by this. (The first call) The wife called first because she was scared because he was extremely drunk and his aggressive behavior had escalated to violence. He already slapped her. While LES was in route he fired his gun, causing their daughter to get scared and call again. He had her trapped in the car screaming at her with his gun on his waist. They for sure did a great job protecting his wife, daughter, and neighbors .
Aggitated>yelling>slap>discharge a round for scare> ?shoot to kill her?
He lifted his shirt, showed his gun, then put his hand down on it just as if he were going to remove it from the holster... and refused to comply , and even said "NO!!" to them.
The wife and daughter should be greatful that they arrived quickly and mom is still alive... instead they are trying to waste taxpayers money and get taxpayers to cut them a big check. I wonder how their neighbors & town feel about that wife and daughter wanting their money and also wasting their money.

Exactly. Everyone complaining about an unjustified shooting is ridiculous. The husband had already slapped the wife, and there were confirmed shots fired. A domestic violence call is one of the most dangerous an officer can get dispatched to, and couple that with the fact the husband has shown he isn’t afraid of discharging his weapon makes it a nightmare scenario. Then he proceeded to put his hand on his gun instead of obeying orders. Even if he had no intention to use his gun at that moment, it was still a ridiculously stupid decision he made.

Instead he reached for his gun and it doesn't matter what he planned on doing with it because as far as these officers knew they were there for a domestic dispute with a gun involved. If police roll up on you, guns drawn, screaming and yelling to put your hands up and get down, you do exactly that. There are many cases where cops are shooting people unnecessarily but this is NOT one of them.

So what's the theme of this video exactly? Disturbing calls or disturbing bodycam footage? Because in most of these cases I would only consider one of the two to be disturbing. You're also switching between corrupt cops and completely innocent ones
