- How to tie down a car on a car trailer the right way. Best practice for this method is to tie down all four wheels. Ideally have your ratchets front and rear or both in the middle. Do them the same on both sides. Remember to make sure the strap at the back of the tyre is parallel to the horizontal part of the strap across the outside of the wheel. For extra safety have a loose strap or chain front and rear. Has to be loose to accommodate the movement in the suspension. Don’t blame me if your car falls off.
Finally a video on how to properly strap a car down without all the fancy, expensive special straps. Thank you sir.
Shawn Lathrop Thanks for that. Glad I could help. B.
You just saved me $300, I am picking up a truck tomorrow and was going to buy the fancy straps on the way there! Thank you.
Keep up the good work mate
Best video on youtube on how to tie a car absolutely fantastic, thanks!
Velleity Thanks for your comment. Very much appreciated. B.
Thanks mate! I'm towing an Ford XW over a thousand km tomorrow and this has put my mind at ease for the trip.
No worries mate. Just be sure to do all four wheels and check it every few hundred kms. XW, nice. That’s a 64 Cortina in the video.
Bingo! This is the one. I've watched a bunch of how-to car tie-down videos and this is the method that makes the most sense to me.
Legend, two f150s to bring home tomorrow, I spent years just loading up on straps up down left and right, this is the best I’ve seen. Nice corty btw
Cheers mate. Just be sure to do all 4 wheels. 👍
The best shortest and sweetest video on how to do it with no nonsense. Excellent work and thank you. Simplicity using one strap instead a lot of axle straps etc. Not knocking those gadgets, they are awesome, but you cover all areas in 1 minute. Top stuff.
Towing my cars tomorrow. This technique sums up perfectly on how simple, yet safely & efficient tieing down cars can be. Top stuff Aussies. Bloody Legends! 👍🏽🤠
Outstanding demonstration, many thanks.
Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. Remember that it’s best practice to do that on all four wheels.
Brenden.
Great video! Have been looking for a simple way using normal ratchet straps. Putting car on the trailer today, seen just in the nick of time 💪🏻
Got a vehicle I got to strap down after watching the video I now know. Awesome
Cheers mate. Just be sure to do all four and make sure the back of the strap doesn’t get hooked up on the brakes. Safe travels. 👍
This is exactly the video I was looking for, thank you!
Amazing technique and great video, straight to the point, thumbs up for sure 👍🏼
This video made me look like a pro! So awesome, big hug (corona safe) and many thanks from Sweden!

Cheers mate. Glad I could help. B.
Great explanation, quick and easy lol no bs 😂... may be a dumb question but would you do this on all 4 wheels or just 2?
I have the same question

nice mk1 cortina BTW
I know laws are different everywhere. Is this DOT approved?
Yep it should be. Just make sure you do all 4 wheels. I’ve been carting cars this way for 20+ years in the transport industry.
B👍
DOT has nothing on how you attach straps other than saying "securely"
Its thata a dataun 510
you have to say: well thats not going any where.
