@@pressupstudios I don't know how viable it would be, or if it would fit the project, but for impacts (character hitting into something / forceful pushes such as the anticipation in the legs before sprinting) it could really convey the energy currently in that limb, it may even help act as a pseudo blur frame effect
i like the hatched lines the most. maybe like enlux said, you can use different ones for different scenarios, maybe like the sketched lines when the character is really scared or is having an existential crisis but then just hatched lines for normal things. edit: maybe you can make the sketched lines go slower, by holding on to the sketched lines for 3 frames instead of 1.
I like the lines! Have you tried seeing what that effect looks like if it's on twos? (I'm not sure about Blender and other software, but I've done this in 2D / After Effects, by using Posterize Time on that specific effect, set to 12 FPS.) Fantastic job! I like how you're developing this.
Heres an idea, if your story has sadness and happiness mixed into it, you mix em, for example, if its normal you use hatched lines, but if something really bad happens, and the mc feels rlly bad, or sick, or angry, you use sketched lines
i like the final and hatched lines the best, maybe use the sketch lines for certain interactions (memories, intensity ect)
What a great idea honestly. That's honestly genius. Using the different styles to convey emotion and time period maybe.

I love the hatched lines, it gives it sort of an anime feel. Keep up the great work!
to be honest the sketched lines makes the animation style more unique, but choose whatever your heart desires!
i think if you were to combine the final with the hatched version it would look good, but the final already looks really great!!

Why does this remind me of FLCL
Sketched lines looks a bit too distracting to me, the rest are all very solid
Sketch lines seem like they should only be used for idk.. uktra mega anime buster attacks
Sketched line
HATCHED!!!!
Hatched lines
Sketch lines would be cooler if they were a bit smaller, but otherwise I gotta go with hatched lines
