Been a while since I uploaded, I've been making FNaF models recently and wanted to put them to good use. I needed to animate something because I've been itching to lately. It's a bit different to my normal content and I get if my fanbase doesn't consist of FNaF fans, but I really just wanted to make something. Hope you all enjoy!
HOW TO DO CHOPPY ANIMATION IN BLENDER
Переглядів 19 тис.Рік тому
This is a short tutorial to explain how I'm able to achieve Choppy animation. Despite the fact I don't use Choppy animation that much anymore it's still important to note how keyframing out and constant interpolation can still look stylized while in a choppy style. If you create something feel free to share! If you want to see more videos like this leave a like and a comment. Subscribe to the c...

A New Friend?
Переглядів 745Рік тому
In this video a friendly robot meets a new friend named Larry. I think I'm getting better at animation, I'll take any criticism you can provide. I thoroughly enjoy making these so if you have any ideas feel free to suggest them. I'm making something for Christmas, no promises it releases on time or anything!
My Hidey Hole

Been a while! I recently came across a really cool model that someone made and it really made me want to improve the old robot model and do a quick animation with it. I believe I've dropped choppy animation entirely, but we'll see. I've been working on a lot of things recently, in order to keep this channel alive though I may be making shorter videos with random ideas if I get any.
My Animation Journey

Here's a lot of old animations I created along my pathway to where I am today, some people might even say that I haven't improved :) I have a lot more animations that I'd be happy to show off in the future.

This was another action test render, but this time done to the full effect of my current animation skills. I plan to do more of these.

This is a simple animation exercise I did in one day in an attempt to just work harder and get better at animation.
Animation Style Test

I tried 4 different styles in this video, please tell me your thoughts on which one is the most preferred, personally I like the final style design, I think it adds just the right amount of texturing while keeping that stylized toon shading.

this is so good omg
Really great and insightful tutorial, however isn't there a way to change the interpolation to two-frame intervals? Animating by hand in 3D is quite labour intensive.
Yes! There is, this however takes quite a bit of time. To interpolate on two-frame intervals similar to that of something like into the spiderverse or puss in boots last wish you can go into the animation graph editor, where you can select each bone by hand and add stepped interpolation. It's hard to explain in a comment here, but I'd suggest you look up 'stepped interpolation in blender' and you'll find the solution. Hope this helps!
the anticipation frame is what i was missing in my choppy animation D: ty good sir
it didnt work
Sound mixing does need a little work, as the vocals were drown out by the music alone. That aside, great intro to your show. I wish you the best of luck on getting more traction.
You've got my subscribe, many because you did the most awesome thing you could do. You not only shouted out the other artist/animators who have either inspired you, or could be turned to for their insight to get started, or understand the principles of what you're talking about, but you also linked their videos. That alone has my support, but on top of that, you did do another thing I respect. You started off without trying to mislead anyone. Giving just enough info how to get started, but not "Hey copy these number values and bam you got yourself a [x effect] to play with!". Which, I highly respect.
Wow, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! It's actually really nice of you to point that stuff out. I try my best to show my inspirations on my sleeve but I didn't even realize I was doing any of that. I think it's amazing how you can recognize that aspect in people by focusing on their mannerisms.
get a better mic

shockingly simple, straight to the point, nice

my brotha
Oh my gosh this looks so cool and spooky, can’t wait to play it
Is this going to be one of those jump scare heavy horror games like all of those Five Nights At Freddy games? I've never gotten into those because I find the jumpscare stuff just gets tiresome quickly
@@CushionSapp unfortunately this is a jumpscared based horror game. I made it with the focus of expanding a concept like Five Nights At Freddy’s as those games are incredibly simple and I wanted to add more intuitive gameplay mechanics such as crafting and resource gathering. Your goal isn’t to survive a certain amount of time, your progress is entirely determined upon yourself and your goal is to make it to the 100th floor as more and more gets piled on to you. I’m unsure if this game is for you, but thank you for at least checking it out!
Cant wait to play
Game
Thanks bro this helped a lot
can you try to remake the pootis engage into with these robot models?
finally i can do the pootis engage animation style
Well, we know what's going to eventually happen

I was so ready to see Bonnie run towards the camera at the lower body functions test
I'm slow burning here, I've got more videos I'm working on with these models.
Wow, this person is willing to spend 20 minuets to please their audience, yet it ends up getting seen by no-one.
Thank you, Khan Academy guy

You wasting my time where is the choppy animation freak
amazing! im gonna start animating my model soon this will help a lot!
Where did you get the models or did you model them yourself?
I modeled these myself
How do you make you animation this kind of choppy
There's a video on my channel actually that explains how you'd do it yourself! Go check it out
Thanks
V3 is insane
V2 in act 3 be like:
i was about to see not much ultrakill comments until i realize that the entire comment section is ultrakill comments
Don't remind me :,)
I don't really like animating on 2s.. If you like it; that's okidoki.. to me however it just feels off.
You made this video using blender right as well? That's cool
Yes, I used blender to edit the video. I'd like to try the style again and see if I can perfect it, it's a little jank here.
very good, but I feel like it would be more fight-y if the back foot was moved out more for a more aggressive stance
great tutorial for beginners. i personally add a stepped modifier on the keyframes to give it a choppy look, but automates interpolation to save time
Even better, you can render the animation with a lower framerate to acquire the choppy look
love this!! my preferred method of doing this is to animate as you would normally with bezier curves, but then placing keyframes between each curve (every frame, or every Nth frame to make it choppier), and THEN converting frames to constant. this method ends up having more of a stop-motion effect, but also removes the tedium of having to manually pose each constant frame; you can also go for something a little bit like into the spiderverse by selectively changing between bezier keyframes and constant frames to add or remove emphasis on certain actions or poses
ay thanks man
Thank you bro💯
Thank you bubba
oh my god THANK YOU! I've been looking for how to do this for so long and no other tutorials were what I needed
No problem, I'm happy I could help! If you have any question just ask.
