You don't owe us anything - take care of yourself and yours, Dev. But hey - thanks for this. This performance was sick. Che is in peak form and your eccentric noodling really complements her gravitas.
Casualties of Cool is very special album for me. In moments of much needed solitude it gives me the space I need to think and evaluate life for a while. It honestly has helped me sort out so many major troubles in my life. Thank you Devin and Che for that beautiful album.
This album has been my most listened to album for like 2 years. I'm mostly into tech death, djent, deathcore, etc.. but the vibes with Casualties of Cool are immaculate. Che and Devin have such beautiful vocal chemistry. Would kill for more.
As much as I absolutely love Devin and I consider myself a major fan...Casualties of cool is almost above it all for me. I would be so freaking happy if a second album came out!!
I would actually listened to this (literally 24/7) while when going on any very, very LONG really exciting road-trips! Thank you Devin Townsend, I LO💖E you... You are Truly indeed the biggest HIGHLIGHTS' ever, of my Life, of ALL-time! That's HOW very unique and special, you really are to me...
I'd love another Casualties album! I think it is yout greatest artistic achievement yet (even if I love your Strapping stuff dearly, I think you are best when you give your music space to breathe) and I think it is one of the best albums ever written. When you're tempted, just try it. I hope Empath and the Casualties gem showed you that your listeners love you experimenting. :)
As soon as the vocals started, I couldn't help but close my eyes and sink into the couch in pure enjoyment. What a great set! Thank you for the gift, Dev and Che.
Man this versions has such an enhanced soundcape! The drums are fatter, the synths more lushy, vocals more crips, samples and electronics more in your face.. I love it!
Dev , You're so good to us all. This Quarantine Project I will treasure always. Thank you from the heart & soul. Be well and take good care of each other! Much love and light. Peace
Dev is probably one of the best artists in the world. Certainly one of the coolest. So much love for the art, and so much talent to further it. Cheers!
Casualties is easily one of my favourite albums of all time. Dying to hear more or maybe even when this whole pandemic thing blows over, an Australia tour? mmmmm
This album has such an amazing vibe. It's like reading a book in a dimly lit room at night when nobody else is awake. The only other artist I know of who has been able to capture this sort of atmosphere is Radical Face. Thanks for this live version; it is sublime!
I love this Album, not sure what type of genre it is? Dark Country with Ambient sound? Not usually my type of music but Casualties is an excellent album, it takes my breath away when listening to it, also it’s an good listen on a Sunday or Lazy afternoon! Also Ché is just absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing this Dev.
I call it gothic country when trying to explain it to people. This is my fav Devin album. I can't get enough. It's been my most listened to album on Spotify for 3 years in a row. Perfect tones, melodies, subtle noises, the mix of vocals and crescendos are euphoric.
One of my favourite albums to chill to, unwind to, or just put on in the background while I'm working. The videos from this album (Mountaintop & Flight) are great too.
Thank you for all this. Feels like we are actually in this together more now, with you doing all this connecting with us everyday. Love this piece... 😊 🙏 🌈
All these tunes are contributing to making a great and cool Minidisc. And I'm another that loves the Casualties album. Thanks Devin, from just down the road in Seattle. Hope to see you on the road again soon.
This is my fav Devin album. I can't get enough. It's been my most listened to album on Spotify for 3 years in a row. Perfect tones, melodies, subtle noises, the mix of vocals and crescendos are euphoric. What I'd give to see him and Che perform this live.
Lovely renditions 🥰 The vibe on that first CoC album was so wonderfully dark and soothing - somehow equally uplifting and melancholic. A follow up album would be awesome! If that hypothetical album were followed up by an evenly hypothetical tour? Well, then I'd be the happiest boy! I didn't find a way to travel to England for the Union Chapel show(s?), but I sure would if you decided to do a reboot.
Thank you Devin! I was just listening to Casualties disc 1 on my way home from work today, it's still one of my favorite things you've done! Just like with Anneke, you and Che go so well together that it's intoxicating to listen to, even all these years later it feels like the first time. This is a beautiful surprise to see tonight as I'm browsing UA-cam, I sincerely thank you for your efforts in making my favorite music ever.
This is bonkers good, and exactly what I needed. Couple more days in quarantine before I have to brave San Francisco public transit to go back to work. I've managed to get my schedule down to two brutal days a week, but stuff like this puts a smile on my face and lends me a promise, even if it is a false one, that after all things are said and done, that I'll be okay, and everything is going to be okay. Thank you, Devin. Really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It means a lot, and no matter how good the songs are (they are, uh, great), it makes me feel like I have a friend in these very very strange times.
Thanks for all these videos , they really helped me through a very dark time last week, especially call of the void, gonna have to listen to this album tonight now :)
Devin, everything you touch is gold. It's taken a while to get to a point where you can make use of that talent in such an effective manner but if the last 10 years of your musical catalogue aren't evidence of it, then at the very least Casualties is. The talent, fun and purest musicianship you and Che display in this album are incredibly inspiring. I'm not setting any expectations for another album like this... but I sure would love one. Or a foray into another genre you haven't touched yet. Whatever you want! Do what you like! Record an hour of farts! Oh wait... Z2 :D Burps? Enjoy some time to relax and don't feel pressured to produce anything. The world is taking a break. So can you :)
Shit, Dev, you could record yourself reading your laundry list in Ziltoid's voice, and I suspect most of us would enjoy it. That being said, this is great. Casualties was such a change of pace, and an absolutely captivating album. I send links to people who think that you're all about screaming and chaos, just to prove them wrong.
"I am now ENDEAVORING to CLEAN the COFFEE MAKARR" *mutters under his breath* "This is so beneath my magnificence. Don't I have minions to do this for me?"
Hope everyone is doing well, Devin. Thank you for these great uploads during such a crazy time, and I look forward to seeing you out on the road again once it's safe!
Casualties is the one Devin record that my wife really likes. Myself, I really love it. Terrific atmosphere, and the melodies slowly creep into your head. And I never heard Morgan play the drums like that before!
New appreciation for this. I feel like, even when the album came out, I was still coming off the "But I just want more SYL!" mindset, but I'm diggin the recent mellow jams.
Much appreciated my friend! Contemplating even the most testing of possible scenarios I couldn't ever expect you to do anything less then take the underlying truths you pull inspiration from for your different ideas knowing you would keep making amazing music, and that your ability to deconstruct things to its core would eventually lead you to know what's up through this haze of confusion that's more then easy to see how things are so universally confused and misinterpreted! Being such a stand alone unique musician gives you a boost in that department! It's almost impossible to ponder that people will dislike and/or have issue beyond the initial originality undertones causing confusion or misplaced distaste since the concepts involved are towards wanting to share what's been created for everyone's almost guaranteed enjoyment baring those that won't give it a chance! I know you care not for ego and it shows very much in your music and presence! You flow through so many concepts and directly write off these factors wich I hope people realize is a subconscious attraction towards the pull in a society that all too much has become more about pushing! Much like great art, Devine truths and harsh realities great music stands the test of time when it's tuned to the right frequencies to universally stretch across time, and anything less takes very little to erode away and like dust dissolve back into the elements! Even in these times I remain standing aware that I would not be for a very long time now if I didn't have at least a few things right! But I have no ambitions to do anything less then keep searching and evolving and your music reflects alot of that for a long time now! I'm glad you were in whatever way inspired or inclined to do the quarantine project, but even if the idea had been intended differently all I see is more reason to think that I personally couldn't have chosen any better! Everyone wins when you play anyway, just sayin! Take care brotha!
Thanks for doing this quarantine project man, feel I lose a tooth every night. Saw your show in Calgary, gotta fist bump as well as the nod. Thanks for the continual inspiration, even throughout this collective crisis.
Thanks Dev! Casualties of Cool has been and still is such a breath of fresh air, it's so good on a totally different level than the rest you've put out. Love CoC :)
Thanks; Devin! Oh, well, not sure if it is a "right" thing to ask... But, for instance, could you record and film, perhaps, as a part of the QUARANTINE PROJECT, a session when you are writing, inventing music, or just meditating while conceiving something? But... whatever, waiting for the next part!
I swear there were some videos of this somewhere, but maybe they got taken down, or I'm thinking of a different performance? Either way, awesome! Thanks Dev.
Last comment: I don't know your workload right now but this performance really kicks the songs up... if you're at all interested already in remixing those songs - this would be a great direction to take them.
You don't owe us anything - take care of yourself and yours, Dev.
But hey - thanks for this. This performance was sick. Che is in peak form and your eccentric noodling really complements her gravitas.
Eccentric Noodle - NEW SIDE PROJECT!!!!!!
Casualties of Cool is such a great record........and Che is an OUTSTANDING talent.
I'd love to hear more from Casualties in the future. :)
Casualties of Cool is very special album for me. In moments of much needed solitude it gives me the space I need to think and evaluate life for a while. It honestly has helped me sort out so many major troubles in my life. Thank you Devin and Che for that beautiful album.
Ché's vocals are something else, man. Wow.
I would be so freaking happy if a second album came out!!
his masterpiece. every song on that album is absolutely fantastic. the way their voices harmonizing is so haunting.
Casualties is a real gem. I love the "Ghost Country" style. Definetely in my top 10 playlist when I need to get shit done.
I would actually listened to this (literally 24/7) while when going on any very, very LONG really exciting road-trips!
Thank you Devin Townsend, I LO💖E you... You are Truly indeed the biggest HIGHLIGHTS' ever, of my Life, of ALL-time!
That's HOW very unique and special, you really are to me...
seriously, I used to drive with this album for weeks on end of night driving - on loop - just beautiful
I echo this sentiment
I'd love another Casualties album! I think it is yout greatest artistic achievement yet (even if I love your Strapping stuff dearly, I think you are best when you give your music space to breathe) and I think it is one of the best albums ever written. same =)
Sitting in isolation by a fire in my backyard and listening to this wonderful music! Thank you!!!
I just love and appreciate everything you do. Please take the time to take care of you and yours. Thank you for continuing to be a light for us all.
Man this versions has such an enhanced soundcape! The drums are fatter, the synths more lushy, vocals more crips, samples and electronics more in your face.. I love it!
Been a long time since I've listened to casualties, really needed this today.
I saw Casualties Of Cool at The Union Chapel, in London, back in the day (2014). It was an awesome gig.
Definitely one of the best musical experiences of my life, that was a beautiful night
Cheers!

under rated , unknown and under appreciated album . some of Devs best work easily . spread the word everyone
Casualties of Cool is one of my favorite projects ever. Hope you keep working with Che, she's so talented. Love you both.
This album has such an amazing vibe. It's like reading a book in a dimly lit room at night when nobody else is awake. The only other artist I know of who has been able to capture this sort of atmosphere is Radical Face. Thanks for this live version; it is sublime!
A 2 hour long live stream AND then this? Devin is the man.
Please write more. You and Che are awesome together.
Stunning, as always when stuff from Casualties is played.
Thank you Devin. For all. I hope to see you live soon....love to you and family
Casualties of Cool has remained in my playlists since it came out. So good
I love this Album, not sure what type of genre it is? Dark Country with Ambient sound? Not usually my type of music but Casualties is an excellent album, it takes my breath away when listening to it, also it’s an good listen on a Sunday or Lazy afternoon! Marc Lee I would say kind of an outlaw country ambient vibe. Killer album.
Space Country
I call it gothic country when trying to explain it to people. This is my fav Devin album. I can't get enough. It's been my most listened to album on Spotify for 3 years in a row. Perfect tones, melodies, subtle noises, the mix of vocals and crescendos are euphoric.
Devin's music.
Genre is Devin Townsend.
6:14 I see a "Folsom Prison Blues" lick was thrown in there, noice.
One of my favourite albums to chill to, unwind to, or just put on in the background while I'm working. The videos from this album (Mountaintop & Flight) are great too.
Thank you for all this. Feels like we are actually in this together more now, with you doing all this connecting with us everyday. Love this piece... 😊 🙏 🌈

Casualties is one my fave albums ever man, so sooo good. Thanks for this!
This album is a hidden GEM!
Omg yes, you have no idea how much I love SYL and your solo projects, but Casualties of Cool was A M A Z I N G!!!
Thanks for all you are doing for us Devin. Yesterdays Twitch jam and lessons were great and really made my day.
This is my fav Devin album. I can't get enough. It's been my most listened to album on Spotify for 3 years in a row. Perfect tones, melodies, subtle noises, the mix of vocals and crescendos are euphoric. What I'd give to see him and Che perform this live.
Really cool to hear new approaches and few nuances on these songs. Thanks Devin!
Lovely renditions 🥰
The vibe on that first CoC album was so wonderfully dark and soothing - somehow equally uplifting and melancholic. A follow up album would be awesome! I read 'cock' and I giggled so stupidly... haha
Love Casualties of Cool. Thanks for this Dev. That quote from Folsom prison blues is nice!
Love this album, Che is so damn awesome
Thank you Devin! I was just listening to Casualties disc 1 on my way home from work today, it's still one of my favorite things you've done! One minute in, and loving it!!!!! Frickin’ brilliant stuff Devin. Thank you!
I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never see Strapping preform, but I'll be gosh darned if I never get to see a Casualties show.
Such a brilliant album, thanks Dev for posting it and stay healthy 🤘🏻♥️
This is bonkers good, and exactly what I needed.

How far away is work? It may be worth walking! The streets aren't full of people :)
Code is my favourite song off of casualties. that little 8 seconds at 2 and half into the song always gets me.
i love how tape-y this sounds. this version of The Code is amazing
1:22 Almost sounds like Tomas the train joined in the jam session. My love still goes to you, devin!
Thanks for all these videos , they really helped me through a very dark time last week, especially call of the void, gonna have to listen to this album tonight now :)

Do what you like!
Record an hour of farts! Oh wait... Z2 :D
Burps?
Enjoy some time to relax and don't feel pressured to produce anything. The world is taking a break. So can you :)
Love it, thanks Devin !
Adore this project, thx Dev for CoC, in quarantine, CoC is my soundtrack :')
If music is for dislodging emotions, this casualties stuff - I think - is the best you've done so far..
Just clips of him doing mundane household chores but as Ziltoid. I am on board with that.
"I am now ENDEAVORING to CLEAN the COFFEE MAKARR"
*mutters under his breath* "This is so beneath my magnificence. Don't I have minions to do this for me?"
I absolutely LOVE that album!!
Casualties Of Cool 4 Life!! Thank you Devy!!!! Happy Tuesday!!!!!!
Very sorry to hear problems may have arisen for you. I hope all goes as well as it can
Wishing you the best
Hope everyone is doing well, Devin. Thank you for these great uploads during such a crazy time, and I look forward to seeing you out on the road again once it's safe!
Casualties is the one Devin record that my wife really likes. Myself, I really love it. Terrific atmosphere, and the melodies slowly creep into your head. And I never heard Morgan play the drums like that before!
I love it so much ! I want another Casualties Of Cool album ! Thank you Dev' ! 😍❤️
Thank you for helping us get through this fucking quarantine. Take care of yourself and yours, Dev
Holy Shit! So much awesome. The Code is so rich Che's and your vocal layers are so beautiful.
New appreciation for this. I feel like, even when the album came out, I was still coming off the "But I just want more SYL!" mindset, but I'm diggin the recent mellow jams.
Thank you for this. It's amazing!
Looking forward to more Casualties music!
El Country no es mi tipo, pero tu estilo lo es todo ❤️❤️❤️ Calidad=Devin Townsend ⭐
I'd love to hear more Casualties stuff.
Casualties is one of my all time favorite records! Take care man, hope all is well!
casulties is my fav dev project since its inception.
this mix really hits the moment. thank you.

I love this! Thank!
On top of my want for a game with a Devy soundtrack, now I want a space western.
Also, a collab with Elena Siegman would be awesome. She's got an album in this style and also does some great screaming for the COD Zombie songs.
Thanks for doing this quarantine project man, feel I lose a tooth every night. Saw your show in Calgary, gotta fist bump as well as the nod. Thanks for the continual inspiration, even throughout this collective crisis.
Thanks Dev, stay safe man
Thanks Dev! Casualties of Cool has been and still is such a breath of fresh air, it's so good on a totally different level than the rest you've put out. Love CoC :)
Hahaha Robin
This is rad!! 👍🏻👍🏻
The way you played The Code fucking slaps thank you
Very Peaky Blinders. Love it.
This is fantastic. The extra improvs are amazing.
Big fan, absolutely love the C of C album. That guitar flows
Casualties of Cool would have to be in my top 5 albums for Devin. It's just got such a moody vibe to it and of course Che sounds amazing as always.
i LOVE THIS!!!
Thanks 👍😘🇸🇪
Thanks; Devin! Oh, well, not sure if it is a "right" thing to ask... He's on twitch doing this exact thing! www.twitch.tv/devin_townsend
Oh! Thanks!
More of my favorite album of yours? Yes!
I swear there were some videos of this somewhere, but maybe they got taken down, or I'm thinking of a different performance? Either way, awesome! Thanks Dev.
The Dunlop session perhaps
I love you Dev....sincèrement ❤❤❤ gros bisous depuis la Guyane Française. Fait attention à toi et tes proches 🔥😘🔥
Awesome! :)
I'm almost thankful for quarantine
Thumbs down???? How rude!!!! Devin is Perfection 💙💯🔥

Peace you bald old metal man ! :D
Indeeeeeeeed

Great vibe!!!
Love COC. No, not Corrosion of Conformity but also yes them. Casualties is a great project and album. If you guys haven't heard it you simply must.
