A true masterpiece of an album. I have wide ranging tastes in music (heavy metal to classical) and spend most of my time consuming it… this album is one of the most impressive and synergistic collections of music ever arranged.
Devin's so diverse ... I mean, he's able to be the true 'metalhead', the spacey prog-metal guy, the atmospheric shoegaze guy, the shred-guitar guy, the melodic ballad guy, the wild young Steve Vai protege guy, the fuck-the-music-industry guy, the my-fans-are-my-world guy, the unafraid-to-give-you-tears from sadness/laughter guy. I love your output, Devin.
I would change my eq a little bit for more reverby spaces if I did live shows in some. If a band has a long setup/soundcheck time than that might really help them too. Live sound mixing could be different because you might have to learn about certain spaces sounds before you can do a good mix faster. Anyways, the mix of this is outstanding for sure.
This video means a lot to me, this is my favorite song ever. This song has managed to capture every beautiful thing in the universe that’s why I can’t stop listening to it, just wow!!!!!!
I'm a little pissed that all their live performances sound so fucking incredible that they outshine the studio album. And by pissed I mean I'm really just glad to be here and to be able to hear this. But God, Devin, seriously! Don't be afraid to mix your voice to run at a parallel audi ble volume because yours and Che's voice blend together beautifully.
Devin can take this death metal fan and serve him anything that he wants. Devin has done so much with his music and he never fails to keep me off my toes waiting to hear what's next. Congratulations on Empath, dude! Was amazing seeing you at Red Rocks 👍😎
Amazing performance, & the album is one of my favourite things ever. Edit: At the beginning for like ONE second I always think I’ve clicked on Goodbye by The Sundays
You should do a tour and hit the rockabilly scene ..I believe Casualties of Cool would do great in the scene maybe do a tour with Reverend Horton Heat.
I think the "Devin Townsend scene" is much bigger than the rockabilly scene, so why bother? Especially when you're going to make fans that will probably only dig 1% of your stuff (ie this album and Trainfire off Ki).
Habrete de Piernas You freaked out and started insulting someone when your opinion was *slightly* challenged. Be under no illusions about who the pussy here is, pal 😙
Agent: dev you gotta tour this album Dev: I’m bored of touring Agent: tour this album Dev: che you wanna do a jam session in London? Che: sure! Agent: tour Dev: jam session Che: sure! Agent: jam session with album songs? Dev: toast Che: Sure! You want butter Agent: why not...
Is there going to be a way to get the audio aside from the DVD so we can enjoy it on a home stereo? I'm going to buy this in a heartbeat, but it would be a shame to have to listen to it every time though my tv speakers...
There is a CD and a CD-DVD set out there , you just have to look for it. The DVD may only be for European region players. I have an all region player and the DVD is fantastic.
He can't play without it because there's just so much you can do with open C tuning. By his own admission, he's technically one of the shittiest famous guitarists on the planet.
Devin IS reverb and echo, without it would not be him, nor as good. Still GOOD! but not AS good. Says someone who since childhood have loved echo effects of all kinds..just magical.
Probably the most slept on music project of all time. This is genius level. I play this album for every demographic and no one has disliked it yet.

I only discovered this last year, and I have yet to tire of listening to it. Sonic beauty, so much talent.
One of my top two albums of all time. Incredible.
Yeah, my ex didn't like it. We broke up for a reason.
Literally "slept on" - I use it to fall asleep with :D

😊😊😊😊😅😊
Ugh I just want to go on a long road trip through the mountains and play this on repeat
I've done it and it doesnt disappoint lmao
Its actually as awesome as it seems it would be. Well worth it.
Done this several times, still digging it
That live sound is really stunning. Great respect not only for musicians, but for sound engineers as well.
I agree totally! I was just thinking the very same thing!

Puts me in Mind of the Robert Plant/Alison Kraus collaboration a few years back. No higher praise than that!
Yep
Quite possibly one of the best songs ever written.
Shit! I'm high. And this is most magical song i've ever heard.....Ghost of Johnny Cash is in this music.
This is the ultimate song to listen to when you’re high ;)
LOL I am high and first time listening to this track. Devin can do no wrong with any genre of music.
Psychedelic country... JJ Cale would love it.
I was just thinking - ambient blues??
@@chrisbleezy2988 we can say so
This is some of the best music ever written, God damn it!
The "boy you're mine" gives me chills every time. killer performance.
This video means a lot to me, this is my favorite song ever. This song has managed to capture every beautiful thing in the universe that’s why I can’t stop listening to it, just wow!!!!!!
Another masterpiece by Devin. And Che's voice is haunting and sexy.
Che's voice is great!
Sounds just like the record, great performance
very talented and beautiful woman
I want to play this song to my younger self and say "Please don't get comfortable. This song is about being too comfortable, and what it costs"
Wow. They were making some real magic there! That audience can count themselves lucky to witness that.
God, she has a great voice!!!
I haven't heard anything like this for quite a while... So refreshing!
I was there... Very different but equally as good as the Retinal Circus and Albert hall gigs (Devin spoils us Londoners...)
+Jacob Reading It is forgivable.
You lucky bastards!
Plus the by a thread series lmao
They complement each other so well. Amazing voices, just perfect.

One of my favorite albums of all time! So damn good! 😍
Thank you Spotify for putting this into my weekly Playlist! These emotions.. damn!
Saw them in Helsinki, probably best gig of my life. I was so nice of Devin to afterwards stay and let everyone who wanted to take a picture with him
These two canadians are beyond good
Devin and Morgan together.... to of my favorite muscians! :)
Her voice reminds me of the vocalist from The Delgado's. Beautiful.
Fancy seeing you here. Lol
@@Rexolaboy lol omg Rex! Should be no surprise, Devy is life.
A brillaint album, absolutely superb
I was really curious to know how this would sound live. Very nice!
I was listening to this and when he threw in the riff from folsom prison blues I felt like I went into another dimension.
Perfect, relaxing sound. Love it.
The way their voices.melt.together
Really cool. With this quality the music is close to drowning in reverb and shimmer, but I bet this must've been really impressive in real life!
gracias Devin por hacerme descubrir a esta mujer y su preciosa voz, me pone los pelos de punta siempre, y menudo discazo!
Sound and melody fade in the space, which reminds flight on skies
I'll buy the CD again just to get this live DVD. Awesome!
Amazing performance, & the album is one of my favourite things ever.
Edit: At the beginning for like ONE second I always think I’ve clicked on Goodbye by The Sundays
I'll check that out. Thanks!
I really love Ché. \m/
Ok, NOW I know what I want for christmas!
Was amazing to be there and experience!! Could not have asked for a better show and more awesome group of musicians.
I hope this will reach 1080p so we can fully hear the greatness of this video :)
order the dvd
@@derpferguson5400 Sadly the video quality is really poor..but the sound kicks ass!!!
I think they won't upload the 1080p version so that people buy the dvd ^^
@JM Coulon you're right lmao, my bad
Beautifull, love the sound. Great musicians!
Watching it now at home......excellent concert indeed
justo en la billetera
There's something very alluring about this song. Love it.
...Sensation...🌻
awesome, what a beautifull sound
YES, A VIDEO YESSSSSSSS
Fucking amazing...Because of Devin and Dorval I can forgive Canada for Celine and Justin.
Hahaha top comment.
Amazing! Was great to see this live.
I didn't know about the live DVD. I'll have to seek that out.
❤
awesome Devin!
How can I pay for all of this!?
Who thumbs this down?! Like seriously 8 people at the time of writing this need help

Surrealistic Slumbers isn't it DT?
DR G Dunno.
it is Devin :)
This is the sound I hear when I am blazing the trail on my trusty young steed.
Was there a CD released for this????!!!

+Walrus125 I believe I saw a tweet yesterday by Devin saying it will be on spotify, iTunes etc. as well. So, wouldn't worry about it.
+Ruben van Kruistum Thanks - I had assumed that he meant just the standard 2 Discs of CoC rather than the live tracks as well. Here's hoping!
This was taken off UA-cam as a full live performance, where can I buy this?
Maybe you have it already but de dvd comes with the casualties of cool cd !👍
@@dickschievink9063 I found the 3 disc set with DVD & ordered, so excited!
Anybody know where I can buy this? They took down the full video.

That Johnny Cash part at 6:28

Busettt keren banget ini, suara cewe nya juga salak
In a different wrinkle of the omniverse this is well known as "Pink Floyd live at Folsom Prison". Ziltoid knows ....
360p?
360p? In 2015? It's such a disgrace for a song that good!
360p says: buy the goddamned DVD ;)
уау :)
Black Rockabilly?
360p!
360p carries a hidden message. It goes something like: Buoy ay DeaVeaDea :D
@@meshugeah where? Edit. Found yea.
Good, solid performance but Devy, man.. can you sometimes go easy with the echo? :D
+MrCold012 Wouldn't be right without it, haha!
+MrCold012 I would love to hear this entire album with the echo turns WAY down. I have a feeling it would sound even better.

HELL NO!
Tarantinoesque
still his best work for me to date
crystal ballroom in portland?
No. The Union Chapel in Islington, London. I was there. A magical evening.
Shortest 9 minutes ever.
brutal!! a ocho personas no les parece brutal!! abducted!!!!
I'm not a big Devin Townsend fan but I must admit this is really unique....
Not Metal but Very Very Coool
Pulling off all those effects live is no small feat.
When Daddy touches me, I cry, but secretly, I like it.
