The man who created Satan's Ice Cream Truck proved he cannot be predictable. If someone has the humour and intelligence to make heavy metal with a slide whistle work, anything's possible.
Hell, I'd cheekily require it and count on Dev's grand nature to deliver it and I am certain that's how it went down. Good luck getting it back if you ever "loaned" me what's actually a FREE GUITAR HA HA HA *footsteps rapidly receding*
As I've said to anyone who'll listen - BEST-SHOW-I'VE-EVER-BEEN-TO.... so good with a live band and no backing tracks and click - music given the space to grow and live. Brilliant!
Ok. Saw a interview with him talkomg how he practice guitar, and been wondering if he's that good of a musician and player. I will say nothing else, I'm starting his routine right now. Damn man, there's no words to describe such impressive talent this man reached! I am in absolutely 😮😮😮 Amazing!
I am in love with Ché Aimee's voice. The bridge in this song is so much better with her vocals. Come to think of it, every song is better when she is singing in it.
This was absolutely Unreal!! The way it turns from a groovy jam into a psychedelic nightmare is not only technically impressive, but the music blooms like a mushroom cloud..... Props to Devin for assembling a group of amazing musicians that not just "play" the song, but breath life into it and make it a collective beast unto it's own.... On repeat I like my own comments too....
Comparing this gig (and especially this mix) earlier Dev live recordings really hammers home what a triumph the tour was. All the non live backing stuff stripped out, just a band on stage producing all the music in the moment, but you still hear Dev's characteristic wall of sound and production style. Really amazing band he put together for this gig. I have waited years to see him live, and this was so worth it.
Watching this to remind myself what it was like being in a crowd of people with a few beers. Was a great show that day. The Ki songs on the setlist were the highlight for me.
Diego is bloody unstoppable, despite not attracting too much attention to himself. Think about Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress performances, the guy had to learn an entire Dream Theater live repertoire - and ended up playing the whole thing flawlessly from memory.
Devin, I have only recently dicovered your work and I really enjoy the composition and arrangement that your put into your music. I was trying to explain to a friend how I would describe your music and the best I could come up with was a mishmash of Fear Factory / Mr Bungle / Metallica / Henry Rolins... I gave up and said, dude it's Devin Townsend. Just love it for the genius it is.
I just got some top shelf Bose headphones. I headed directly to Genesis and War t - It's incredible how much Diego is playing and triggering so many different parts for Dev to play without backing tracks. I was totally happy with the backing tracks, so I could hear him perform songs as recorded. But what a dream band with the ladies and Che - everybody was the perfect piece needed for each spot. Morgan is as rare of musician as you can find. I was to see Dev 3 days before the tour cancelled. I'm so blessed that he had filmed before the US leg. And I get to see him perform Ocean Machine in a couple of weeks. That's going to be special
Saw him in Houston before the world shut down. Was quite literally a life altering experience for me and I will forever hold it close to my heart. Thanks Devy

I first heard this song watching a version from the retinal circus and I fell in love with it. This version is really beautiful. I truly love this song
yeah I'm a big Devin fan but that whole album (christeen, bad devil, etc.) is pretty meh to me. Still appreciate his diversity a lot, he could easily play it safe and pull an AC/DC but he puts out all sorts of stuff that can appeal to different people/moods

Great rendition by the best band Dev ever assembled (I mean it!), very nice to hear it without backing tracks, clicks and shit... but Retinal Circus version remains my favourite ❤️
Last concert I saw, leap day Feb 29 in Brooklyn. First time seeing Devin, FINALLY, after being a fan since 1994. If and when live music becomes a thing again, let nothing stop you from seeing Devy live.
Aivan vitun (Finnish) absolute core diamond music from ultra talented people. My friday is saved but I'm also crying for this awesome musical experience.
I still can't believe that Casualties of Cool with Ché had one of it's rare gigs in Helsinki Finland. What a great show and experience! Thanks Dev and co. for that!
I really like the fact there are no backing tracks it really makes the music feel more alive to me. Awesome as usual. Also Loving what Markus is doing during the heavy part.
Seen Devy 3 times over the years as DTP and SYL... Always the highlight of the festival. If I ever win the lottery I'm hiring him for a private New Year's Eve party. 😜
I will be 68 next month. Please God let me live long enough and get the opportunity to see Devin live in concert.
