    Meet Jason, from the Bye Bye Panic Mentorship Program. Jason's battle with anxiety featured a complex mix of physical symptoms and emotional turmoil that began prominently at the age of 23 with his first major panic attack. This episode was so intense that Jason initially believed he was experiencing a heart attack, prompting a rush to the emergency room where extensive tests showed no physical cause for his distress.
    Over the years, Jason's symptoms expanded to include cardiac sensations like palpitations, gastrointestinal issues such as severe reflux, and physical discomfort like joint pain. These symptoms often triggered further anxiety, creating a vicious cycle that left him desperate for relief. He embarked on a wide-ranging quest for solutions, exploring both medical and alternative treatments. His efforts included prescriptions like Xanax and Lexapro, which temporarily alleviated symptoms but failed to offer lasting relief and sometimes made his situation worse. Jason also explored cognitive behavioral therapy, natural supplements like St. John's Wort, lifestyle changes such as the Wim Hof method, meditation, and diet modifications.
    Despite these efforts, Jason's anxiety persisted, leading him to a profound sense of frustration as each new approach initially promised relief but ultimately failed to address the root cause of his anxiety. This ongoing struggle profoundly impacted his life, consuming much of his time and energy in a relentless search for a cure that seemed always out of reach until he found a community and program that resonated with his experiences and offered a new approach to recovery.

    Thanks for sharing, Jason. Your story rings true. I’m about the same age and in the Midwest. Been dealing with this for about 10 years.
    I think what kept us stuck for so long is our fix it mentality. Like you said it can make us successful in business but doesn’t directly help us navigate this.
    I’m a month into the mentorship and seeing progress already. I have so many coping crutches built up over the years I need to eliminate.

    Hey Shaan, I'm almost 100% recovered. I have small episodes of DPDR (derealization/depersonalization), and they don't happen every day. They hardly bother me anymore. But one thing that's been bothering me and interfering quite a bit is the strangeness of my own voice, well, not exactly strangeness, but rather an excessive attention to it and my expressions of emotions. Have you ever met someone who has gone through this? Do you know how to help me?

    • @callofduty4men
      @callofduty4men 4 місяці тому +1

      If you start practicing consistency with all symptoms. You will recover. It’s okay if that bothers you. But you have to just accept it and choose to focus on something else. NOT to stop it, but BECAUSE IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. notice your habit of you checking symptoms. Work on breaking bad habits. Don’t focus on the symptoms and intensity of them. The work you put in doesn’t reflect that. The work you put in will reflect your discomfort tolerance and being aware of bad habits and fixing them. Symptoms go away as a consequence of working on bad habits.

    Hey Shaan, are anxiety sufferers mentally susceptible to violent content that is presented in games or movies? (like blood and gore, etc.) Or can such violent contents become a trigger for more anxiety for them? I think I have developed such kind of weakness that prevents me from enjoying my everyday hobbies in my life. At one time, I even thought that every objects I see and touch felt 'violent.'

      And also, I would like to know if you can make a video about the relationship between anxiety, people with greater empathy, and sensitivity. I would appreciate if you can also give a hint on how to overcome empathy-derived anxiety while also turn that struggles into inner strength and wisdom.

      totally! one time i was só sensitive that even loud noises or too fast or agressivo music would send me to panic city 😂. All kinds of sensitivities, from this to light , to EMF ,anxiety is the king of morphing into virtually anything

      I couldn't watch any movie that was only a bit depressing. I had to leave the room immediately i was running away. It was hard to push through this. I had to force myself to sit through those 10-20 minutes (sometimes an hour) and it was gone after 2-3 months.

    • @callahansmith1411
      @callahansmith1411 4 місяці тому +1

      The solution lies in living normally and just fully accepting temporary spikes in stress. You are sensitized so everything will be overwhelming, but you are getting tricked and spiralling. So go toward everything that you are avoiding instead. Forget about the triggers. You should get the blue print at least so you can deepen your understanding

      @@ioanmarianbalau8762 Interesting! I'm very interested in this. I have GERD, mainly every night when sleeping. Often have other problems connected to GERD like sinus/ ear problems (because of all the stuff coming up) esophagus irritation etc. I've had anxiety problems for about 15 years but only learnt "the way" maybe 1,5 year ago. I'm on the right path now, still having many symptoms but handling it better. BUT I never connected GERD with anxiety. For me GERD was always sth seperate that has nothing to do with anxiety. If reflux can "weaken" when handling anxiety better, that makes me quite hopeful.
