I’ve noticed this at my local track and just riding in general. (Field of Dreams NJ) some of the guys don’t take care of themselves fitness wise. I bring a speed jumprope with a mat and do speed intervals they look at me like I’m crazy until I leave them behind. Love the content it’s immensely appreciated!

As a guy knocking on 40 coming back to the sport, your vids have been a great help. This one probably not one people are going to click on unfortunately, but definately one of the most important! One thing I love about your vids is that pretty much everything you say is advice of some kind, little to no rambling like other instructional vids. Really appreciate the work on the vids (I know how much time it takes) and being a good role model for the sport. Thank you!

Glad that you’re encouraging people to accomplish these things. It does matter. As a long time strength coach sport scientist in professional soccer is suggest you also watch a UA-cam video from NSCA titles activate, stimulate, warmup. A thing to add would be more activation/potentiation. You did some general movements however, you need to ramp up to be able to deal with high force at high speed. For that I do have my riders include some baseline lower body plyometrics and especially upper body plyometrics. Your upper body is going to absorb and redirect large amounts of force and that cannot be neglected.
Glad you’re addressing this topic for a lot of folks

As a strength and conditioning coach I really appreciate that you take the time to make a video like this and don't fill it with random B.S. statements we commonly see from "fitness" accounts. You hit the nail on the head. I actually wrote a blog about warming up for moto/SX! Find it at motostrong.blogspot.com. I'm happy to help with anybody's questions about training!

Thanks for the insight once again AJ, and to anyone new to this channel when everyone else got fast and got super good at riding they also got cocky this guy right here AJ cat and zero never got cocky he was always there to help even the beginners that everyone else would look at and laugh at. AJ took the time to get off of his bike and watch other people ride and see what was going on to them and what they needed to improve which I feel like is naturally why he started training people even before he was a trainer he naturally just wanted to help any and every Rider to enjoy the sport and love it and get better at it I'll tell you right now training with this guy is worth every penny plus more anyone and everyone who wants to get good at the sport of motocross AJ is absolutely the most patient humble trainer I've ever seen in my life great guy right here keep up the good videos AJ as usual and anyone new to this sport this is the guy you want to go to if you want to get good

I really don't mean to come off as a kiss ass I'm just saying most of my Motocross career memories that I had AJ was very helpful through a lot of it as a local guy who my best friend Dustin and I learned a lot from. And as someone who now has a newborn son I really want to find the right person to help me train my son to ride and enjoy the sport like his father did and watching AJ and learning all of the tips that he's teaching me even to this day helps me with a lot and is really giving me the confidence now that I'm back on a dirt bike after many years. So please don't take it as me just being a suck up or a kiss ass this is a guy who I spent a lot of time around in New England and every time I promote him it's because from the bottom of my heart I believe he's an incredible trainer and a helpful person keep it up AJ thanks man

I'm riding just for fun. Not super interested in racing. I neglect stretching, and now it makes sense, my first few laps, I get arm pump, numb hands, get sloppy with the controls. My first few laps are essentially my stretch and warm up. After that, and a quick break, I can ride a little more consistently, longer. I'm 10 minutes from my local track. Maybe I'll warm up at home so I don't feel silly. I admit I would feel silly to do all this stretching and warming up looking like I was gonna shred, and then do what I do. Haha.
