You just convinced me to upgrade from the Samsung S3 classic that I had since early 2017. But instead of going to this one tagged at almost $400, I decided to go with the Galaxy Watch that lasts almost 2 days more than this one. I saw your review on that one and impressed me a lot. I got it new for $212 in Samsung website giving my S3 for just $67. I skipped the Active since I am a fan of the rotating bezel.
I get a good 2 1/2 days out of mine at 6 brightness and AOD off, I use my watch all day, and I love the new design. Great video, bro. Liked and subscribed. Cheers from Illinois.
Actually just got mine the Watch 3 Titanium and I'm so impressed how the battery goes. I used it for my exercise, tracking of sleep and other health monitoring including the stress without turning off the Bluetooth, plus watch face with multiple features and even installation of multiple apps and organizing it. It gives me almost 2 days before charging it again from 100% until almost drained.
A fellow Latino doing tech reviews....instant sub from me. I'm an Android Wear OS user and would love to experiment with Tizen OS. Your test lasted an impressive 31 hours and 10 minutes exactly. I wonder what the battery would be like if I had this watch in LTE version with LTE turned on but then turning off sleep tracking and turning off the Always On Display (which is how I use my Android watches) along with turning off GPS and WIFI (only activating those on an as-needed basis which is how I use my Android watches). Now a test like this on UA-cam would truly help me estimate what I'm in for. Great video, brother. I just stumbled on your channel. Keep it up! What was the result with the original Galaxy Watch? Hours and minute until it shut down?
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. With my original Galaxy Watch LTE with normal use I would get around 3 to 4 days. Can't remember what the exact result was is my test. But it did well for being an LTE model with heavy usage for that test. I do remember that. I'd have to go back and look for that video.
@@Josh_Quinonez - wow, brother. Then I wish I could get my hands on a copy of the original watch! Not sure if the Watch 2 with LTE has as good as 3 to 4 days like the original watch. Great video.... thank you for your hard work.
Great review. I currently have the galaxy watch and wearing it 9-10 hours a day, I drop it on the charger every 3 days with approximately 15% battery left. So i won't be upgrading.
Great video. I was on the fence of upgrading from the active 2 due to the negative comments i been hearing about the battery. But after your test, I feel comfortable making the purchase. Thanks! Did you also have wi-fi turned on during the test?
Thanks for this battery test. I have been hoping someone would do this. I have the original galaxy watch, and only put it on the charger in the morning when I shower, and get ready. That keeps it charged well throughout the day. I can even miss a day of charging and be fine...that is all I hope for with the Galaxy Watch 3 battery.
And I thought we had it bad getting up to almost 110 degrees last week in Central Texas. Nice review, thanks. I have the original and Active 2 so trying to decide if I want the 3.
I wanted so bad a galaxy watch but decided to get a Huawei gt2, battery life is insane, 12 days of battery, I don't have to remove it at all, even track my sleep, maybe when samsung get an equally good battery I'll switch
The screen off timer only works when you have touched the screen or turned the bezel. When you just use raise to wake, the screen will shut off after five seconds. Do you ever use always on display? I would like to use that but I think it will cause burn in.
Thank you for showing me this battery test it seems fine for my usage day to day and with the powershare feature on Galaxy S10/20 this should be adequate. Buying 👍
Do you know how long the battery last when your listening to music on the watch with Bluetooth earbuds? I'm thinking of buying the same one but Idk if it will last a whole 10hr shift of constant listening
Im getting just below 2 days on my 45mm, with sleep tracking in between so pretty good, works out about the same as my galaxy watch 42mm that I had before but obviously this has a bigger screen and I have the heart rate tracking on continuous whereas on my previous watch it was only on every 10 mins. So there is improvement.

Thx for this test, I did pre order with trade in of my old galxy watch, but after your test considering to keep my old one with between 3 and 4 days battery life, watch looks great but it might be annoying after a while to keep charging this every day. Why Samsung done this to us? Why not use better battery to keep us more happy? Probably next generation of this watch will be fitted with longer battery life, it needs to be improved on every smart watch ⌚⏳
Honestly if I used it a little less for texts and calls it probably would have lasted longer. I'm sure the heat from my run affected the battery as well. It was way hot outside.
Battery is smaller this year so they could make the watch smaller overall. I do like the longer battery life on the original Galaxy Watch and was hoping for better (because of a better, more efficient chipset), but because the chipset is the same, no improvement. I guess I'll just have to find a convenient time during the day to charge the watch for 30 mins.
Great video! Do you mind if I ask what size wrist you have? Just wondering if it will look too bulky on a smaller wrist or if I should go for the smaller option.
I'm disappointed they reduced the size of the battery. I was hoping Samsung would have up to a week with this watch given the Galaxy Watch had 4 days. I ended up buying the Garmin Marq Golfer.
They did reduce the battery size but the watch 3 last longer than my old active 2. I get two and a half days from the 3 and only got 2 from the active 2
Yup. I returned an original Galaxy Watch original because unless I disabled everything, I couldn't get it to last more than a day or two. I'm not spending $400 bucks on a watch that can do all kinds of things, and then have to be forced to disable everything to get any kind of battery life. Especially when you can get a top of the line fitbit that will last almost a full week for cheaper. Garmin watches too. The folks I know who rave about these things seem to have 90% of the features disabled, so wtf is the point?
@@scubamage lmao the fact that you compared a Fitbit to GW3 is hilarious and nobody should listen to anything you have to say. If I used it as a sports tracker, with the Bluetooth always turned off, tracking sleep, heart rate, steps, etc., how long would it's battery Last? (approximately, of course)
I wonder with turning off sleep tracker (and) turning off Always On Display (which is how I use my Android smart watches) how much longer the battery would last.
Another day I've tested it. With AOD off that is. Sleep tracker is automatic and cannot be turned off. You can however turn off heartbeat tracker during sleep mode.
15% battery drain in 3 hours? That's pathetic! I had a Hauwei Watch GT2, and with all functions firing, it would be at about 95% from a full day's use after charging it early in the morning. I returned it, not because of the watch, but the health app was terrible. I was thinking about getting the galaxy watch, and now, no way. The battery life sounds similar to the Apple watch. Hey, someone with any Samsung's smartwatch and a S10 or over series, it is really viable and practical to give all the charge it needs with wireless power share? I have a s10+ and I would like if I could never put the watch in the charge, only share some battery (Please same with galaxy Buds, that I think it is nice do it)
You can't complain about battery life when you want to use AOD. And I still don't know what the big deal is about charging your watch overnight while you're sleeping--that's just nit picking bullshit.
Thanks for the good review! * ECG & blood pressure monitoring is currently working in South Korea only 🤐 * The compute (outdated) platform is just surrounded by a slightly modified body. * Still using an Exynos 9110 dual-core processor which means amongst others higher power consumption. * Battery size & life seems to be the same as in the Active 2. * Fall (trip) detection is just working theoretically & definitely not practically. * Sleep monitoring seems to be fairly unreliable. * A leather strap for a watch primarily used for sports is just ridiculous 🥳 * No power stand as delivered with the original Galaxy Watch. THIS Watch is far from being #innovative & absolutely #OVERpriced for its average quality! This long awaited gadget is a huge #disappointment! My recommendation? You better keep your original Galaxy Watch 1 or Active 2 or even wait on the Apple Watch 6 rather than wasting a bunch of money for the Galaxy Watch 3!
The original galaxy watch is losing market value like crazy. On eBay you get these things meanwhile for below 200 Euro in Germany. I paid for a new one 289 Euro on amazon.de back in January 2020. I wouldn't be suprised if the most expensive watch version, the 520 USD one, cost 400 USD in one year and 290 USD in two years. Actually my feeling tells me that AT BEST this is a 250 USD (after taxes) watch.
It's almost literally the same as every other smartwatch. You might get like 1 extra day with Tickwatch but it isn't as smooth and refined, nor does it perform as well as GW3. Now if we start talking about Garmin and GShock which are more outdoor watches with smartwatch features than actual smartwatches. You have an argument there. But not really because the GW3 is a fitness watch and elegant watch all in one. It doesn't cater to one demographic like those style watches do.

I HAD MINE FOR 3 DAYS SENT IT BACK WAS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE..EVERYTHING OFF AND WAS LASTING AROUND TWELVE HOURS.GAVE IT A LONG CHARGE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGING..GUTTED..
Where do you live it sounds like Phoenix
Palm Springs area
Does anyone know how to change KL to MILES...Thanks on galaxy watch 3
Hey, someone with any Samsung's smartwatch and a S10 or over series, it is really viable and practical to give all the charge it needs with wireless power share? I have a s10+ and I would like if I could never put the watch in the charge, only share some battery
(Please same with galaxy Buds, that I think it is nice do it)
so how long did it last ? or do I need to watch the whole video ?
118 degrees?? Where do you live?
Lol California
No need to upgradw to galaxy watch 3 if you have a galaxy watch
Sorry wrong GW3 blows the original out of the water with everything except battery life 🤷♂️
Is it worth it to get the LTE version?
@@sdrawkcabmiay yeah I love using my watch as a back up. Or going to the gym without carrying my phone.
I need that band...
Amazing video, but i was able get two days with mines still had battery life but i went ahead and threw it on the charger
Thats awesome! Yes I'm getting around 2 days as well with regular usage👍
I got like half a day with the 45 mm and e sim
Is this the lte version?
I'm wondering that too.
why u always shaking your wrist...
Because if you don't interact with the watch it will go to the always on display
You can't complain about battery life when you want to use AOD.
And I still don't know what the big deal is about charging your watch overnight while you're sleeping--that's just nit picking bullshit.
I'm pretty sure I wasn't complaining Lol
Well actually he paid 400 dollars for it he can complain about whatever he wants 🤷♂️
As much as I want this watch samsung need to do better with the battery it shouldn't have to be charged every 2 days
We all know those 4000 steps aren't steps
The first galaxy was best as had a bigger battery and could do up to 7 day from charger.
The new update us draining mine very fast
Downloadings apps it drained 70%in 2 hours
I would tell you that I would buy the original again
In addition, the price is more comfortable
Thanks for the good review!
* ECG & blood pressure monitoring is currently working in South Korea only 🤐
* The compute (outdated) platform is just surrounded by a slightly modified body.
* A leather strap for a watch primarily used for sports is just ridiculous 🥳
* No power stand as delivered with the original Galaxy Watch.
Too low capacity battery. Do NOT gonna buy it, thanks for the review.
Its actually gotten a lot better over time the more I use it👍
It's almost literally the same as every other smartwatch.
It's not as good as the Galaxy Gear s3
the first wash I understand that it has a very good battery so it would be a good option
