You seem like you have the right kind of mind for TOOL. Expert musicianship with a dynamic singer who writes interesting, very introspective lyrics. Maybe try Lateralus next.
@@PittsTake Oh, and about Tool's music videos, they're all very bizarre and pretty much impossible to make any meaningful connections with the songs. I generally advise people to avoid them on first listen because they tend to distract the listener from the music. But you seemed to handle this one pretty well. Schism is another great song from the same album and the video for it is just super weird.
See that's the thing though, they weren't mainstream when they started. They were a garage band who signed a contract. They never allowed the industry to define them or their sound, and they always pushed themselves beyond their surroundings. Mainstream; "the ideas, attitudes, or activities that are shared by most people and regarded as normal or conventional."
You have almost the same facial expresion and look alike as a twitch streamer/UA-camr Ezekiel_iii ,im not joking and im nto trying to be rude. I loved your reaction.
I probably should have warned you that it was gonna be long, lol.... i was gonna say a lyric video would be better. because the videos TOOL does are a little weird and sometimes have no correlation or connection to the lyrics themselves. there are a few that they have done that do, but very very few. but it seems some of the TOOL army has shown up and said all that needed to be said. I think you'd really enjoy most of songs by TOOL, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Maynard is the vocalist for all three. also i was gonna suggest Judith by A perfect circle also, but it seems someone else already has. you should definitely look into the back story of that song, and if you do that one. then i would say check out. TOOL - 10,000 days "wings for Marie part 2", and you'll hear a shift in the way he thinks, after looking back on that time. also another good one is TOOL - "right in two" i think you'd like.
Yeah, I've got judith done, waiting on the block to drop off so I can release it. Scheduled for the 24th. I'll check out Marie. My girl Shannon tipped me off on judith. It's a good one.
Funny you mentioned the jab. Their latest album dropped right before covid hit in 2019, called Fear Innoculum. The tool logo for that album turns to a syringe when folded between the o's. The title track Fear Innoculum lyrics are creepy if you relate it to whats going on today and alot of the album is about the downfall of humanity in my opinion. Especially Descending. Long comment I know, sorry. Enjoyed the reaction bro.
Guess you must be a believer in a deity as your take on this song has that slant. The band, and neuroscientists, would see it a bit differently. We (our consciousness) are a product of the meat suit - our thoughts derive from our brains. Once the meat suit dies the brain dies and our consciousness dies. But - life is eternal - as in the life force within all creatures. Read some from neuroscientist Sam Harris - he is great at breaking down super complex ideas about consciousness into thing most of us can understand with just a bit of effort. He has the background in brain imaging and the current state of neuroscience to help us, who haven't studied it for decades on end, understand.

Yeah, once he takes a deep dive into Tool, he's gonna be hooked!
Thanks, I'll check that one out. I love deep lyrics.

Thanks for letting me know. I dropped out of music a little over a decade ago.
Great reaction, more Tool reactions please!!!
A theremin
The business guys are record company executives, "laying a vinyl down"
Nice, I can see that.
Me personally love the fact that Maynard doesn't over power the music with the lyrics. It's all a ride when it comes to tool.
Funny to see the differnce.. u still maintained good sound quality. Props
Peace✌✌
"Pain is an illusion".
More TOOL, please?
Peace
very artistic & strange , I love tool .. NIN is another band I love .
Perfect Circle is another band I love Maynard was in it also .
My and Trent have jammed many a day, I had the Cds before a perfect circle.
if you listen to Judith by Perfect Circle you get a better idea how he feels .. painful , I feel him . it is a song to his disable religious mother .
I did not however know there was a band named perfect circle, I'll have to check that out.
I just recorded it, It'll be up no more than 4 days from now. Depends on the label. It was a really good one, thanks for the recommend.
People with a shallow understanding think what we do in this short life doesn't matter.
It really does.

Im Just going thru your Catalog.
Tool is my single favorite band....
A rapper is not a band...
Tool been favorrite for 22 years
Just a thought. Stick with the audio only on tool. Sit back close your eyes and get lost/found. Also could have the lyrics handy.

I appreciate long comments, it means you thought about what to write. I'm gonna have to check out fear innoculum.
@@PittsTake I actually misspelled the album and song. Fear Inoculum is the correct spelling.

I know all the arguments, and Sam Harris has nothing for me. I absolutely believe, with reason. Be blessed.
