Thankfully, I don’t live too far from nice, isolated, nature parks with low levels of or at times no people at all. Now I understand why my thoughts were loudest in the wilderness and why that has always seemed like the perfect escape. Thank you, Dr. Vaknin.
Jung's Red book begins with a visit to the desert. Being there has been useful and with your insight I know I'm in the right place even if it's lonely it offers direction and a kind of peace. Thank you.
@@dorianmorgenstern1267 Me too. 🙂 It’s been a good pandemic reading, the time of which has been a desert of sorts for me. Also Dante’s Divine Comedy begins, “I wandered lost and lonely in the woods.” And Buddha under the Bodhi tree. I’m big on Taoism as a philosophy. It so clearly and simply makes sense. One must be still and empty to find truth...
You're not religious while still noticing the wisdom of scripture. That is very humble, wise, and admirable Sam. I see the Bible as one massive parable to learn from. I always enjoy your insights =)
thanks fellow being for sharing awareness and insight on silence/peace and listening/meditate hope many can practice the other craft of inquiring/pray all three will aid one's growth and development
Bathrooms are good sanctuaries: no acting, no audience. This may explain its positive effects if you stay a little longer. I have often uncovered a truth in a bathroom I didn’t know I wasn’t looking for. Open spaces, other rooms....we’re still performing, even on our own, anyone can pass us by in a field, housemates and family can open a door, passers by can look through a window.
" What are you doing here? What do you want? Who are you? " Three questions that I definitely have no answers to 😅😶🤔 I'm young enough. Perhaps some silence and boredom will help me find the answers to these 😁 I must admit sometimes after listening to your videos Sam I feel a sense of existential dread. I'm in a difficult place in my life and your videos do make me wonder where I am going to go or what I am going to do. I thank you though. For your videos have stopped me from just acting out of fear or the need for escaping. It's uncomfortable. However pausing in silence, finding moments of boredom, are prompting me to act with genuine intention, and hopefully genuine love.
You are always real, whether you choose to report your realness is a different story... or are we whatever we report and it doesn't really matter if we are real at all...
your fullness renders you empty.
i feel so much gratitude to be able to be listening to this message
Beautiful ❤
Excellent -- a timeless message, but expressed more brilliantly than by most.
This is such a beautiful and uplifting meditation! I love the silence, and your presentation was an ode to its value and beauty. Thank you Sam!😊💕
This is a gift
In order to listen to your inner silence, you need to first, cast away the voices that are not yours.

I love when he says..just stop acting for a minute..Stop it..sit still! Took me back to school for a second 😆
They are useful metaphors to be sure. I'm not sure they were ever supposed to be taken literally.

One of your best videos! Thank you Sam
We have lost a great deal of wisdom in this modern world. Thanks for trying to keep it alive.
