The people who say she’s being too rough don’t understand that it’s a lot better for the groomer and the cat that she goes as quick as possible. The longer it takes, the more irritated the cat will be.

We got our long haired cat groomed with a lion cut every summer and it really helped her handle the heat and solved her severe hair ball problem. No matter what we did, brushing her regularly, using the special food, she was always suffering. Lion cuts are great for health reasons sometimes. It's not always for vanity and owners convenience.
yeah, that's the tricky part about long hairs, they can look quite regal but i know those mats have to hurt like hell. heck, even if you touch a short hair in one spot for too long, it's highly uncomfortable for them and over stimulating. if i had to shave my short haired cats to help them feel better, i would. grooming is about health, not just vanity
Tried this with my cat. Once. Realized I couldn’t work the clippers wearing leather welder’s gloves, so had to pack it in and take her to a vet. We were both much, much happier!
@@ingGS no need to be nervous! She’s a professional, it’s clear she knows how to handle the cats and how firm she has to be with the cutters and her hold on the cat. You would be able to tell if the groomer was unsure or nervous about grooming the cat. She clipped those claws quick, showing she knew exactly how far back to go, so I’d say she did a good job.
kneading can also be a sign of a cat trying to cope with stress, which it most likely is in this situation since there's a lot going on (Imagine being taken to a strange place where someone holds you down, cuts your nails, and shaves your hair). But congrats she did it as fast as possible so it was lease stressful as possible

That man didn’t know what was coming till he was done 😂 She is SO confident with her grooming! It took me 2 weeks and various offerings to appease my little lord enough to let me cut some of the mattes out 5 minutes at a time.
Be sure to really know your groomer. My cousin has been a groomer for over 30 years, and she says there are some real neglegent people out there: to the extent she has seen people unwittingly kill animals during grooming, in particular dogs when they put their head in the table noose to keep them from flailing about. Just make sure you trust your groomer, or go to a place like Petco where you have the option of viewing the process.
This cat could be my scruffy who I'm actually in the middle of clipping. He's heavily matted so it's taking time and breaks because he's just not used to grooming. This was a good refresher on tips for him while I'm waiting
Am I correct in thinking this cat is a Ragdoll? He was gorgeous before and certainly adorable after. She is an excellent cat groomer who absolutely knows what she is doing and you can tell that she not only loves what she does but she loves her fluffy clients as well. Bravo to this great video. Can't wait to watch more of them.
So cute I love it. My baby is similar to this further palette I’m very excited to get him a haircut his hair gets everywhere and his collar always ends up hiding underneath all of his hair
This is a perfect handling of this cat. Cat get stressed out and can get mean if you go to slow. You have about 20 to 30 mins for a cat. Depending on temperament. Faster the better for cat grooming

howdy! i just watched your video and wanted to tell you that you did a great job! though i had to look away a couple times seeing the methods you were using, as a cat groomer myself i can say that you shouldnt shave even a bit off down the front of the legs, definitely only shave up to the elbow not the elbow itself, cats not only have whiskers on their muzzle but they also have very important whiskers on the backs of their feet there is nothing wrong with scruffing though i noticed that the person holding was occasionally holdibg the cats neck which is in fact a bad idea because it not only puts the cats health at risk but if the cat were to be agressive it would have easily bitten her and possibly cause cat scratch fever i noticed that you never checked the temperature of the blades and that you were going the natural way of the fur which makes it a messier cut, if you were to go against the grain (flow of the fur) you would have had a much smoother cut
