This is a Motormouth couple car review of the Audi A4 compact sport sedan. The Audi A4 is powered by a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder engine with either 201 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque or 261 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The vast majority of buyers will choose the more powerful sedan and the lower horsepower sedan is only offered as a base Audi A4. Both engines are equipped with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and standard AWD. The Audi A4 received a facelift just last year and includes new front and rear design, plus the side panels were also redone. The Audi A4 sport sedan has seating for 5-passengers with room for rear passengers over 6-feet tall. The dash of the Audi A4 has also been updated to include a new 10.1-inch touch screen that helps drivers interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The addition of the touch screen has removed the need for the MMI control wheel in the centre of the console. The interment cluster is fully digital and 12.3-inches. The Audi A4 sedan is also available as a wagon in North America called the Allroad. This is a particularly well done sedan with great handling, powerful engine, great balance and it does everything absolutely effortlessly. The 2021 Audi A4 comes standard with 10.1-inch touch display, Audi smartphone interface with wireless Carplay, Heated front seats, Power glass sunroof, Ambient lighting, Push button start/stop, LED headlights and taillights , 18-inch wheels, Lane departure warning and Audi Side Assist.

I like the way motormouth puts in action shots of the Audi “on the move” through the streets. It shows off the cars lines and the front and rear illuminations like the sequential tail lamps.

I used to prefer BMW to the other German car makers, ever since the 3.0 CSI coupe of the 70s. Then, in 2008 I noticed how Audi had improved its products in tech, finish and design, while offering all this for an advantageous price. Now, Audi is the one for me. I loved the 2020 A4 45 TFSI I had as a loaner while my A5 was being serviced.

If you're going to lease new and give it back every three years. Great car, however don't ever buy one hoping to keep it for the long run. 6 years old with 140,000kms. Timing chain is prone to jump time and because the 2.0l tfsi is a direct impact motor. You will have to replace the head, valves and timing chain.

I really enjoyed watching this video.
Audi is one of the brands I wanted to get for myself since childhood and I promised myself to get an A4 once I become successful enough to afford it by myself. Now it’s almost the time and just waiting for the right time to get it :)

Still love the car but I think the design just is missing something. Also can't wait until they do away with the floating iPad thing. Great video though you two!

Great review! I am hooked on you guys - great stuff and really like the Monday Q & A show. I wanted to buy an A4 for months if not years. Then it came time to test drive and make a decision. Ended up going with 3-series but was really torn. What got me into the 3-series was mainly the interior. I thought the 3 series was more modern. The tablet in the Audi was really tough for me to get over. The interior looks like the latest Civic. Really think the Audi is due for a refresh. I do believe the drive train/ride in the A4 was marginally better, but the A4 interior which was amazing in 2017, just seemed inferior.

The A4 is a very capable all-around fun daily driver. It is ready out of the box to handle a decent amount of snow without getting stuck. I had the First Edition model a fews ago and think that was the best value in terms of the amount of features that came with it, favorite being the virtual cockpit, the flat bottom steering wheel, the special edition 5-spokes wheels, heated/cooled front seats and get this, a 19 speaker bang & olufsen sound package. It was honestly one of the best cars I have ever owned. This update wasn't my favorite as some of the interior elements (tacked on screen) is slightly outdated compared to competition. It also seemed a bit of a step back in the exterior as well. The chiseled line that went all the way across from the front to the back of the car went away. I tend to think that gave it a more muscular stance and was a great form factor. The new exterior also seem to have more "fake" elements implemented that doesn't make the car sharper (Fake vents/grille, exhaust tips that looks too big). I wish they did more to just enhance the existing look.

Interesting comment about not likely cross-shopping German and Japanese. I walked away from a deal that had gone sour on a three series in 2015. I went straight into the then all new Acura TLX Elite V6 which I loved. Last year I decide I wasn’t willing to wait for the Type S version to come out (still waiting) so I bought a 2020 M340. Best car I’ve ever owned... but I’ll still try the Type S when it comes out to see what I’m missing.

if youre driving 30 mph everyday, everywhere. Then yeah one of those value cars will justify itself.

I really like the A4 line up from Audi. If I was in the market looking for a small premium sport sedan, I would seriously have to take a look at this product. I would slide up to the S4 model and then go from there. I would compare the S4 to the Cadillac CT5 V and then make a decision as to which vehicle has more to offer for the price.

I find it interesting that the four-bangers in this class are all more or less comparable, yet the B58 inline 6 in theBMW M340 is on a whole other level. I cross shopped the S5 Sportback and the AMG C43... even the Benz couldn't quite match the performance, and that's saying something. Check out the just released Lightning Lap article in Car&Driver. Quite impressive, though they used the RWD which we don't get in Canada. Still, my AWD drive is even faster from a dig. 😁

If I buy the Audi and have maintenance done does anyone think I can drive this till 200k miles without a major overhaul? Call me crazy dunno.. Any thoughts?

Not a fan of the glued on the dash look of the tablet style center screens. At this price point and no HUD. Just saw the new Mercedes C and E class sedans and they're beautiful. I like 19" wheels because it's a good compromise and you can buy really nice aftermarket wheels and even Audi style knock offs too. Still not a fan of the Acura grill. this car is beautiful. the current 2021 Jetta with its big fish grille looks atrocious... i could see people thinking it looked like the 2012-2018... but I love the A4 front styling update for 2021. i would probably theoretically pay more for the svelte A4 versus the mutilated grouper look of the Jetta GLI.

Audi used to be my favorite German luxury car manufacturer. Recently, however, they have made choices that I don’t like - fake air intakes, fake exhaust ports, no separate fog lights, screens all over the dashboard. At least this one doesn’t have the latter. But it’s not a vehicle that I want to take a second look at after I have parked it. Though not in the same class, a Mazda 6 Signature is a much better looking car than this Audi. And considering what this car costs, I want a lot more than a tool that does everything well. I want to be stimulated visually.

i live in canada, im sure that All A4 have blind spot assist STANDARD. the only cars that doesnt come standard are the A3 and Q3. A4 Komfort is very well equiped alone, adding the convenience package its basically everything you need.
i also love the fact that the new 2021 A4 have a mild hybrid 12V battery which helps the turbo lag issue. and gotta give audi the respect for having wireless carplay! something that 3 series and C class doesnt have.
