I think this represents a great value for anyone interested in an entry level (read… affordable) German premium brand. With a 4 year warranty (80,ooo kms) and a simply elegant, albeit sophisticated, design it is an excellent offering from Audi. An estate version would be my choice. Thanks for the video

Lot of value for this car. I would probably pick a turbo Mazda3 or a GTI, Golf R over this but it is still a solid choice. Great review, keep up the good work!
I just test drove an A3 FWD version and was very impressed . I am considering a 23 A3 FWD with a 18in wheel sport suspension pkg. 38mpg highway, regular fuel, and is quicker than the numbers reflect ( 201hp/221 torque)....because it also has a new mild hybrid 48 volt battery system which contributes to the acceleration/power. ( this adds 12hp and 37 lb ft of torque upon acceleration for short bursts). I am looking for a more practical replacement for my 2018 Audi TT Quattro and now retired and in NC and don't feel the need for Quattro. I am also considering a new MK8 VW GTI.....
In the North American market the Audi A3, Q3, VW Jetta, Golf R, Golf GTI, Arteon, Taos, Tiguan, and Atlas are all on versions of the MQB modular platform. I believe the A3 was the first MQB based model to be sold in NA market, predating the MK Vll Golf by a year.
Bought one of the last outgoing model w manual, much better interior quality, MMI wheel, volume knob and separate climate controls. Only the 48V hybrid system could have been nice in stop & go traffic and start & stop.
Is it actually faster? Just because it is rated at higher hp doesn’t mean it is faster especially compared to German vehicles that get under rated a lot.
This is the best dashboard of all current Audis with the sensible combination of buttons and elegantly integrated vibrant and sharp screens. Also, I love it that it runs on regular gas. However, the absence of a heated steering wheel is a deal breaker for me.
@@aborbely1 Im in Canada. You just need to talk to the sales guy and he checked the inventory and pre-production that germany has......All you need to do is really just tell them what you want and they'll see if Audi is able to manufacture pre-orders when available with the parts.
Very nice car Andrea, strangely enough a good friend of mine sent me a pic last few days of the Audi RS3 @ £70,000, she was behind the wheel in the showroom, nice. I'd agree with Zack, this is your kind of car Andrea!
The RS3 is pretty hot! It's too bad we don't get that model in Canada but you can buy it in the US for $58,900. 401 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, now that is pure joy.
@@andreaspencer9813 Gosh Andrea, it is a pity you don't get the RS3 in Canada as your right it is a fastback and looks the part. Shame though as I'm sure you'd like to consider it? Ps, good price in America as you point out.
hello, I have been watching your channel since Zac was doing it alone. I like you two. always watching your videos, I have subscribed it. greetings from BOS.
As a previous owner of 06 A3 2.0T SB, I really didn't consider an A3 on last purchase before of the discontinuation of a hatchback while Q3 wasn't exactly spectacular back in 2018 on last generation. However, Mk7 Golf was on the shopping list. If you are in the market of an entry-level sports sedan, A3 sedan is a great bang-for-the-buck definitely. Even if they have cut corners, when it comes to interior material quality, thanks to those upgraded infotainment technologies.
The shifter is weird to me. The real thinker is that most people will cross shop between A3 vs Q3. i wonder what motormouth opinion is between the two.
A fully loaded VW Jetta GLI with 20 more horse powers is 8K less than this one which makes less power with fewer options. The price difference gets steeper when you move up the Audi model lineup with more options. The only advantage I see is that this is an Audi (name value) and AWD. I don't think that's worth the steep price you're going to pay over a VW GLI or even the GTI. The GTI offers 40 more horsepowers. I don't think the A3 is a good value compared to the similar cars offered by VW.
The value the GLI and GTI offer are excellent, they are hard to beat unless you are looking to buy a luxury brand because the badge is important to you and you want AWD as you said.

A question about “mild hybrid” 48 V battery. Audi apparently has a warranty for true high voltage hybrid batteries: “Hybrid/electric system component warranty: 96 months/99,419miles” (I find the precise mileage number odd) but does this warranty apply to the 48V “mild hybrid” battery. Or is that battery kept under the 4-5 year coverage that applies to the 12V battery?
RE: GTI 2022+ I also know a MK7 GTI with Michelin Ice 3 can get to the slopes for the first chair on pow days, but you have to plow when the powder is higher than its 5.1-inch ground clearance. I am interested if you say the MK8 is as capable, even with its ground clearance of 4.7 inches.
