Thank you so much, I've struggled with this for a long time. You've made it sound really easy with great small details. And the tutorial isn't that long!
This is a very good tutorial. So many clowns on youtube that don't explain things properly.. you're not a clown, you're a king. Let the clowns fail while the King controls....
Can Maxon add this workflow to Cineversity?! Every time I talk to them, I ask them to add UVing tutorials like this to their UA-cam or Cineversity and still nothing. This was VERY helpful! Would love to see a more complex model unwrapped too (like a human or creature with multiple components). I can sculpt in ZBrush all day, but when it comes to getting a clean retopo and UVs out, I kinda suck at it. 😬 Thanks again, gang! 🙏
figured it out (I was using Red Shift Render settings NOT standard). If the materials editor doesn't have same options as one in this video - go to ->Render ->Render settings _>edit my render settings. THEN SELECT "STANDARD"
I'm not sure if there is some default setting I accidentally selected that limits the menu items I can see - but when I try to add the checker material I cannot. The material editor does not show "color" option or texture. It is limited to "Basic, Base Properties, Optimizations, Advanced, etc." Is this maybe due to an update to 2024?
Maybe you can help me, as I can't find an answer anywhere else on the internet. Any time I add a uv map from to my geometry by any means, it automatically makes a bunch of uv seams all over the geometry. It doesn't matter how I do the uv projection, I always end up with a bunch of auto uv seams all over my edges that I did not cut. And then when I try to relax my uvs, it doesnt cut the edges that I have selected, it cuts the uv seams that were created when I first made the uvs from projection. Help please. It's so frustrating.
Nice tutorial.
Gold! Frontal projection tip and adding smaller cuts were insightful!
glad I could help!

Glad it helped!
Just these days I'm learning how to work with UV, so thank you very much!
Awesome let me know if you have any questions!
Bro, this is the most helpful and well explained thing i ever seen on C4D
That means a TON to me, thanks so much 🙏
Great pacing in your tutorials. Very enjoyable to watch and learn. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Merci beaucoup, vraiment super tutoriel pour comprendre les uv; En espérant qu' il y en aura d'autres
very concise and pertinent tutorial. thank you!
Great simple breakdown, would love to see a bit more complicated model and more tips!
You got it!
Extremely helpful thank you. Used C4D since forever but always avoided UV mapping like the plague lol
same here!

Love how you still call Subdivision Surface hyper nurbs 🤣🤣
There’s a couple of the old heads out there that will never shake this term 😂
Haha while I was editing I was thinking the same thing 😂 I can’t shake it for sure
thanks
what a time saver ! thank you so much !

Awesome!
Thanks!
Great and short tutorial. But stuck on how to add checkerboard in c4d 2024 + redshift because there's no c4d material any more!
Oh shoot! I’ll look into it!

thank you
You're welcome
Great video. I'm trying to figure out a way get a uv texture/map to apply to only a single side of my polygon. Can't find any answers on this.

my c4d = 2023 2.1 , why i don't have that icon of ready objects library that contains alot of models ??!! how to get it plz ?
Make it look easy. C4D needs an AI copilot to walk you through real world UVing!
Nice video, I was hoping you had something more in depth. But thanks
