  • ACBT is one way to help clear sputum from your chest. It is a set of breathing exercises that loosens and moves sputum from your airways. The technique consists of breathing control, deep breathing and huffing. These are repeated in a cycle until your chest feels clear. You can carry out ACBT when either sitting or lying down.

So very helpful for those of us who are struggling with mucous build up in the lungs. Can I ask if you would recommend NAC for helping with this? Thanks for reading

I am a physician in the US and I enjoyed your presentation very much. I do find that while I am doing my quiet breathing in preparation for deep breathing many times I get secretions which can easily be brought up by Huff coughing. Is bits unusual?BTW dos part of training at three Hammersmith in shepherds bush. Again, congratulations on your excellent video demonstration.

I can bring the phlegm up into the back of my throat alright.. the problem I have is getting it from the back to the front to spit it out. I always end up swallowing it again. 🤢

Thank you can I ask I'm also Asthmatic (it's been severe enough for a 999 call and a 2nd raced trip to a&e when I was admitted. My asthma nurse has suggested this as I have mild pneumonia. My asthma is more stable now as I wasn't capable of a deep breath before (I'm back on steroids). If this feels like it's setting my asthma off should I stop for a few hours till it's calmed down. Or take my inhaler let it calm for a few mins and then start again? I obviously want this stuff gone off my chest and I really struggle to bring it up.
