@tefweebz though on a serious note game looks solid enough. It's why I don't really care about metroid prime 4. I liked ghost song as your pistol whip is lethal and you can heat it up for more melee damage by shooting to heat up the gun, unlike metroid melee counter that is non lethal.

@@militantpacifist4087The vast majority of Metroridvania either look like SotN or are original, rare are those looking like the progenitor (Axiom Verge and this one are the closest I've seen in terms of aesthetic, theme, and map layout).
That scientist who ran in the elevator looked like Professor Utonium.

This year is being very kind to us Metroidvania fans.
As a big fan of 2D-action exploring and futuristic scifi games, I already love this Rebel Transmute. Future is now, thanks to science! 😊❤

You should help out with Rollin Rascal since it’s another Kickstarter project by Curiomatic.
Hopefully there’ll be a physical release of this game.

Probably a similar inspiration. The Metroid part of the Metroidvania genre does tend to lend itself to scifi horror pixel art.

it certainly bears a lot of the same earmarks, but this game's not on SBI's projects list, and neither of the companies involved are on their clients list. still, i'd be a little wary of this one

Yeah, those pinkish neon colors, weird cal arts style of animations and the signature activist haircut is just too much. Maybe the dev didn't intend it that way, but it certainly makes me think of hardcore lefty tumbler era stuff.

When you read the game description on the Switch part of it says "Rebel against colonizers". Ok I will by not giving them my money starting with this game.

Is she supposed to have a helmet or not because the gameplay shows a character with a helmet. Yet whenever they show cutscenes she's without one. It isn't that big of a deal if she simply took it off but you don't see that. Which makes it seem odd that the sprite don't match up with the cutscenes.

Really want to give this game a chance but I’ll wait for reviews. When you click on the publisher/Dev link on the eshop page it seems like they release a lot of “shovelware” titles. This game does look amazing though. Hopefully it’s a decent time.

This is Metroid designed by a masochist. Hence the update with an easy mode which still doesn’t solve the issue. Devs crammed as many enemies in each room as they could. Navigating is never easy. Tricky platforming and strong enemies are almost immediate.
I’m all for challenging but this one took it too far. I just got the exploding bomb and the appeal is just over.
More gun upgrades sooner would probably be my biggest recommendation.

it didnt even take that long for a comment like this to pop up. Usually within a hour the thing is flooded. This just goes to show how bad it actually is in the gaming industry. At this point its a undeniable fact that the industry is facing ideological capture and thats terrifying. Im at the point now (and i dont want to be) where i ask myself if a new game being released is "woke", this stresses me out greatly.
