I’ve never seen an entirely monochromatic game and immediately thought about how much charm and characterization was instantly recognizable. I probably won’t pick this myself, but it looks incredible for the people that enjoy your more typical RPG format.
Minit and Void Stranger are also both monochromatic titles worth investigating. There's also World of Horror, and *technically* ZeroRanger, but that uses orange and green rather than black and white.

Speaking as someone who recently played this: It's a lot closer to Undertale and Omori than your standard RPG format. Like, it definitely has a lot of RPG stuff but like, it's probably closer to an Adventure/puzzle game in terms of 'what you actually need to do' and the combat is... Well. Everyone playing it will hate it after a while and that not only is intentional but part of what makes the game so amazing (I know that sounds very WTF but I am being 100% serious: the dedication to putting the player get into the main character's headspace is absolutely unreal and I have never related to a main character's struggles so much in my life) =DDD So yeah, less 'typical RPG' and more 'adventure game/visual novel that just so happens to have RPG dressing on top'. ...Still very understandable if that's not your thing though XD

this is a BEAUTIFUL and absolutely stunning game that has so much to do. there are tons of things to click on and certain things change per loop which makes it very interesting. it can also get very unsettling and even a bit creepy at times which i honestly really like. the music slaps, the characters are incredibly cute and likeable, the plot is well developed, the art is adorable, and its not a short game at all. ive been playing for 30 hours already. i have been going on about this game for a good week now its one of my favorites
alright so i finished it first time around, which took 74 hours because i wanted to do as much as possible, and theres still more story and activities to do and things to explore and check out. i have been trying to buy it for my friends too lmao most of them wont let me but still
The dev has said they’re not planning on making any more games for these characters, but if you haven’t played the prologue (and also gotten all the achievements) then I highly recommend doing that!!
this is genuinely the best game ever literally just get it immediately if you havent already (id recommend getting it on pc if you can though since the switch port has some issues BUT not enough problems to ruin the experience and they probably will get patched later so just buy the game genuinely i cannot implore you to get it enough please you wont regret it)

I’ve heard A LOT of praise from people who’ve been able to play it ahead of release (i.e people working in games media), so I think this is gonna be something special. I’ve heard the term “true hidden gem” to describe it (multiple times from multiple people), the last month or two, to the point it was hard to ignore despite the game having little to no PR around it. It allegedly goes way beyond being just another Undertale inspired game as the visual implies, and really carves out its own identity. And from what I heard the demo is supposed to be its own little prequel narrrative not available in the full game, so even for those who are already interested in the game it’s probably worth checking out the demo.
as someone who's already played through the whole game in an obsessive haze, yeah, it's something very special. i won't spoil that for anyone, this is something worth experiencing completely blind! JUST PLAY IT JUST GO PLAY IT!!!!!

Honestly, as soon as I saw one frame of this game, I got the vibe of "hidden gem" and god damn was I right. Reading the comments, I am more than stoked to buy this for the steam sale (nintendo trailer haha).
Played the demo recently and I love this game. The interactions between the party members were so full of life and they really did sound like they were a group of friends. The rock paper scissors battle system is hilarious but very fun, especially once you take into account that some of the party can “give” their turn to someone else to deal the needed damage. This was the only demo I’ve played where I actually forgot that what I was playing was the demo and felt very sad when it ended haha Keep in mind though that this is a very classic turn based rpg in its design. If that is not for you then mayyybe dont try this

This was my absolute favorite switch game of 2023. If you want Steins;Gate meets the end of a Tabletop RPG, this is your game. The writing and game mechanics are so clever, and the characters are written with so much heart.
Hey fun fact: this game looks very funny and cute. At times, it is! However it will also pry your heart out of your chest and chuck it into the sea for the sharks to devour. Enjoy the pain!

From the trailer alone, I can certainly see the inspiration from a few RPGs the likes of Undertale and Mother, but I can already see a lot of storytelling promise and potential in this game. This is one I have to keep in my sights (and my Wish List!)
The main character also very much reacts to said deaths in a fairly believable way as it all progressed from 'AGHHH' and freakouts to 'been there done that, numb numb numb' to 'has long term trauma that can manifest in game if you select the right things'. It's tons of fun though can get a lillll morbid at times~ =D
I love you all and it's very nice that you all love Undertale as much as I do, but this is a really amazing game in its own right and I really recommend you give it a shot...
It's kinda like if Undertale and Omori had a kid honestly. Maybe a little Deltarune for the 'mechanics/4th wall as a meta story telling device' but like. All the cuteness and time travel of Undertale, all the psychological exploration and intensity of Omori and a main character who is very definitely NOT a blank slate to insert one's personality over given how much they drive the entire narrative. Would highly recommend it for fans of Undertale, Deltarune and Omori though, so long as they can handle the game's content warnings.
There's definitely a lot that this game has in common with OMORI. I don't know too much about OMORI, but I know that there's a lot of overlap between the OMORI and ISAT fandoms, and a lot of people say that they're similar games. From what I've seen of OMORI, I agree. Then again, this comment is 6 months old so for all I know you've played the game already.

Having played the game... Trust me it showed basically nothing of the game's content. Enough to get a taste/hint of where it goes if you also read the game's content warnings but nothing that truly matters plot or theme wise (beyond saying 'Our main characters are cute! =D' and 'our hero Siffrin apparently dies a lot' both of which are heavily understated compared to what you'll see in actual gameplay XD).
To anyone thinking of buying this game: DO IT. IT IS A MASTERPIECE
