Your videos have been a treasure trove for me!! Two things... I’ve had really good success with standard craft Uv resin from Michael’s. And also, black lights have been cutting in about 20 minutes for me
Good video. I'm the owner of Solacure.com (the maker of the bulbs you use) and I just wanted to say thanks for showing others how to do this. I need to link this over on the main website. It's one thing for us to explain it, but nothing beats when someone is actually doing it and shows it in a video.
Would those lights work mounted in a cooler, same set up?
@@danielerickson3391 Yes but I recommend reflective material on the inside of the cooler
Hi Dennis. I’ve been using Alumilite and your curing bulbs for a while now and love it. I mentioned it in almost all my videos. -Michael Orensteen
Your the man Michael, thanks for sharing I'm going to get some stuff in the morning to make my light box. Looks great my friend .
I really enjoy your videos! Please keep them coming!!!
Thank you. I’ll try to get to another soon
Will have to check that out. Back when I used to make lures we used gym floor finish to seal them. Took forever to dry.
That's great. I'm digging the 30 minute cure time for sure.
Extremely well thought out !!!
Amazing work again!
Looks great!
Awsome video! hope to see more.
Cool video. I'm going to try airbrush lures👍
I use uv glue to make 3d eyes and fill belly weight holes its so cool
Great video.
Im new to lure making and painting and get a lot out of you're lesson's. Thank you very much. I've noticed that you haven't posted a video in a while. Really hope you're okay.
Can you recommend a clear coat that I can apply to store bought hard lures to keep them from fading? Thanks
Can you do a video on painting a white bass/whiper pattern lure
Beautiful job on this lure. You might consider painting your jar black to help keep the ambient light from reacting with your clear.
I store my AlumiUV in a box with a black towel over it
Is the UV Aluma lite a tougher finish than epoxy?
What was the scuffing you mentioned on the bill? Also seems expensive to get into this. How much to get started with a spray gun, vice and a few colors?
Were did you get your bulbs and wat kinde are they.
Great video, could you give me approx. cost of the box you made
IF you use the alumi uv but dont let it cure in a UV box will it cure at all or does it HAVE TO have the UV light to cure? trying to keep cost down
Why do you cure lures?
You were able to use glitter in the final coat can you do the same with your new epoxy system? Thanks
What are cons and pros of brushing vs dipping to apply this type of coating?... wouldn't brushing eliminate drippling and reducing overal coating time?..thanks
Love your content. I do have a question. I switched from kbs to the alumi uv that you are using about a year ago to help speed up the orders. But I have noticed that sometimes I'll get a bait that feels very tacky once there done. Have you ever ran across this issue? And sometimes they will be fine and a few days later they will be tacky.
I’m really enjoying your videos and learning a lot. Can you tell me what kind of timer you put on your UV chamber. Thanks
Art Fowler a digital timer I got at Home Depot
You still around my friend? 🙏🏻
Hello do you still carve wooden duck fishing lures. I have a wooden box with 2 of them in it can you tell me how old they are it says on the end of the box "Old Oregon duck decoys set#1 Wood Duck and Canvas Back Duck. Thank you for your help.
I heard your suppose to put the alumi UV in a dark container so it lasts longer
Thanks for the great video and sharing your experience and information. I have a quick question regarding this product, what is the minimal amount of product that would allow you to fill the mason jar and give enough material to dip your baits? I see it comes in 1/4 and 1 pound packages and just not sure if I can get by with smaller one. Thank you!
I buy the 2lbs can.. You can dip about 300 baits
Ha.....Where did you go.....It has been a year since your last video. Did you find that videoing took a lot of time? Doing these videos when you are in business, sometimes eats up extra time that none of us have. Would like to hear your thoughts.
Hmmm... My wife has a tanning bed. I could probably cure a few lures in there while she is at work
Actually, it will work. The lamps aren't as optimized but there is a lot more of them running higher wattages, so it comes out just fine. We make 6 foot Solacure lamps for people to convert tanning beds into giant curing bins, in fact.
Genius 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
COOL !!!
It's cool but I'll stick with brushing Envirotex. Cures overnight and no need to clear out the eyelets. I can brush 4 or 5 lures in the time it takes to let all the excess UV coating drip off one.
Where did you get the light fixture for curing?? I found something that goes into HVAC ductwork- thinking of making a box to act like the ductwork and insert the unit in to light up the box, then hang lure between the lights.
I built a UV light curing box.. lots of examples on UA-cam.. The bulbs I get from www.solacure.com
How many times you gave the coating? I have tried to give second time and it makes “lumps” on my bait.
I use brush to apply the coating.
Metin Yuksel it will do that when you try to coat over a smooth finish. Need to lightly sand the first coat. But I rarely do two coats. Don’t need to

Thank you, I will try with sandpaper before second coating 👍
Do you have a link for the alumilite coat only found small bottles.
Www.alumilite.com. They have a couple sizes
What bulbs are u using? Blacklights or flourescent,
mrslabber UV bulbs from Solacure.com
Website says semi-flexible. Does this pass the thumbnail test, i.e. when fully cured, hard thumbnail pressure will not form a permanent depression in the clear coat? Or the tooth mark test, I guess? Maybe you could do a quick demo on various scratching and marking tests? Also, have you tried similar products---because the website says this stuff is not currently available. Thanks.
Where you did get those
Light bulbs and the fixtures at,

can you still use glitter if you brush it on---
and then dip ???
that is a second coat after a brush
I put fine glitter in a salt shaker. Dip the bait then sprinkle the glitter. Cure it. Then you’ll need to do a second coat.
will this cure ok without the uv box, say just by letting hang??
no
. You can use BSI Finish Cure epoxy. Takes one day to dry.
Anyway you can be more specific on which lights you use because theres all different types...

How does the hanging wire not get stuck?
heysogo I take it out after most has dripped off
great stuff buddy , could you please tell me the bulbs you use ? what NM are they ?

Beautiful
Mike, let me say that you definetly live to all your accolades, and deservedly so. Thank you for this video. The results are fantastic! Guess Imay have convert to UV coating. I have been using a product from Dick Nite that brushes on. From the video your finish seems to be much clearer and makes the bait brighter. I would like to ask where I can get the lights and timer you use?
lights kits from www.solacure.com timer from Home Depot
@@luremeincustompaintedcrank3818 Thank you.
How much does a setup cost
Depends on type of airbush, compressor and initially how many colors of paint.. I would budget for about $500+
How much to get a lure custom painted?

@@luremeincustompaintedcrank3818 thank you sir
Is the alumilite your using a one part, I noticed you only have one jar, or is it a two part mixed that you can store out of the light that won't cure?
Why do you have to use the light box? Is there a clear coat you can just air dry? Thanks!
Jack McCallum only Alumilite UV clear needs the UV lights for curing. Other methods that can air dry are Devcon 2 ton 30 min epoxy, BSI 2 part epoxy, KBS Diamond Clear
Thank you for the quick reply! I will look into those.
Why did you stop using kbs?
Trouble with KBS was storage.. I loved its durability but if that jar is not air tight it will skin over...
@@luremeincustompaintedcrank3818 i don't like it what so ever
So you're bragging on the time it takes to cure it on the UV light... But you've traded that time to warm up the resin for a few hours so it's really just taking just as long to get a bait cured as it would if you just dipped it in KBS or otherwise
