    So cool that you make your own lures! I never thought about what was involved in making a lure. I always used to buy mine from a store. I bet the hand made ones are the best for sure. Great info and video.

    I used the devcon epoxy for years but last 2 batches I got from Amazon marketplace the epoxy part bottle went bad .I now have 2 full bottles of hardner ,wish I could buy back the epoxy so I could use these bottles up.I stored this in controlled environment . Now use what hobby lobby sells so I can physically see the contents.Great jobs on the lures!!

    Question : I'm new at this lure making so I'm curious how that resin compares to KBS diamond coating is it cheaper and comparable ?

    I have been using a product called art resin, I think I picked it up at Hobby Lobby, been using it for a couple years and have not had any issue with yellowing. I never tried the epoxy because everyone said it would yellow over time - Diamond dip is to expensive - this art resin works very well if you want to check it out. If the epoxy is working for you without any yellowing, keep on keeping on, just thought I would mention it, I think this art resin is cheaper than epoxy ? not sure on that one. it mixes like epoxy, goes on smooth and is self leveling

      @@UglyDogLures I think the sunlight is what causes the yellowing, again, I have never used epoxy so I can’t say it would or would not/ but I have heard it will.

    • @UglyDogLures

      Probably will over time because of lack of uv protection

    Do you find that the clear coat turns yellow over time and exposure to the sun? I have read that online. I tried Envirotech but I don't like that is has a smell after a week and it is a flexible and soft.

    No disrespect. I like watching you and your work. But i bought some of that stuff and i sell baits. And the only one thing i don't want to happen is yellowing or cracking later on down the road. I want my products to keep me a good name. And i bought this stuff thinking it was good. But it says right on the box that it will yellow and only used for indoor use only. So you been using this stuff for a few years. Do you have any baits that are 3 years old that are yellow now? And been fished? I just don't want later on for it to bite me in the butt and get a bad name later down the road!

    • @UglyDogLures
      @UglyDogLures  3 роки тому

      We have baits and some key chains we use, that are 4 years or older that have Devcon epoxy and they still look great. The BSI has only been part of our production line for a few month's. There are lots of products out there but eventually all the epoxy I looked into using will dull. It comes down to what works best for you

    You seem like a very nice guy so I mean no disrespect when I say this but you gotta cut to the point on some of this faster. You explained far too much of the process and where to get things. Already have everything and was just waiting on mixing ratios and general tips. Could’ve learned the majority of things in a 3 minute video. Hopefully that tip helps you get more subscribers and attention to your channels I really appreciate you posting though and I will subscribe to your channel! Your lures do look real nice for color schemes. Nicely done!
