You mentioned the hardwood butt-stocks, and mother-of-pearl, but what are the black pistol grips made of? Is it buffalo horn, some type of early plastic, or what???
The Colt factory letters for the Sheriff's Model and New Service list them as "Rubber." A factory letter for the Flattop Target is not available from Colt, but the grips on it are hard rubber as well.
Okay I think we all need to acknowledge that Joel is a national treasure with exceptional taste in revolvers. Don't ever shave the stash. I did and regret it every day. I also live in north east Illinois and am sad that you moved but completely understand why you left this sinking ship. God speed and thank you.
@@eddiejones8042 I figured, but why for a 45LC? Interesting. And why not just shoot the shot through a standard barrel? If it ruins it (which I doubt it would) then what's the problem?

*Rock Island Auction Company* Beautiful collection, thank-you sir for taking the time to show us. GOD Bless.
I've got most of those guns in a box in the shed. Grandpa left them to me.
I had no idea. I'm going to bring them in the house
If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside.
Beautiful firearms!
I still say by FAR the best story teller for Rock Island.
That sheriff's model looks like the quintessential cartoon gun
Does anyone make a repro of that style? If they defarb it then I want it.
Hmmm.. Not quite sure about the moustache bro - it's kinda giving less Last Chance Saloon and more Blue Oyster Bar vibes Lol

It's "Gutta Percha". Early rubber like material used to make golf balls and pistol grips before Bakelite.

Shot cartridges.

Is this for snake country and shot cartridges, or quick draw balloon popping?
@@VictorRichardson14 I am not saying you're wrong but has there been a study on this? I'd like to see.
A sad aspect of being an Australian is not being able to own such things.
None of them? Not even the 22?
