- Honolulu police are searching for an attempted murder suspect wanted for a stabbing outside the Keeaumoku Street Walmart over the weekend that left a Walmart employee in critical condition. Island News spoke with a woman who used her bathing suit as a tourniquet to stop the victim's bleeding.
She is such a kind and strong. We need this kind lady a lots.
She is a hero, proud to have her in our community. Not a tourniquet, that was an improvised pressure bandage
female Mcguyer......good job!!! probably can tell she WILL become either an EMS paramedic or work at QMC.....
Wow what a hero! You’re such a brave and strong young lady the world needs more people like you!!! Blessings ❤
Now as for that individual that helped the victim, I'm proud and grateful that a good Samaritan is willing to stop to help someone in need of emergency medical care.
Congratulations for your bravery and selfless compassion
not all heroes wear capes
That what we need some aloha like her caring helpful god bless this brave woman
Kudos for the YoungLady🙏
Thank you maam
Mahalo Bebeh you are an Earth Angel sent from on high much love and blessings throughout your life 🥰
There's actually a standard class called "Stop the bleed" I'm not sure if they give that class in Hawaii but they should.
When it comes to violent crime, KITV has had some of the best reporting, in my opinion.
What she dis is called putting direct pressure on the wound. You do not use a tourniquet on someone's chest.
Wow amazing lady.
Oh come on. That is not a tourniquet. As a medical professional get your terminology correct before posting anything online. Know the difference. a tournique y goes around an arm or leg that you have to twist tight to stop blood flow past the tourniquet to prevent someone from bleeding out.
Most people wouldn’t even bat an eye these days & just walk past or stand and stare like a deer in head lights. Right on sister!!! Mahalo for your aloha & kindness!!!
The news stations need to get their facts straight before posting somethjng.
As an CPR/First Aid Instructor. I recommend that everyone take classes. May not be a stranger. It could be your family member that is bleeding out or needs CPR. Never know who and when.
When they had CPR U Ready a while back.........I took a class.
@Waynes-xt9gr that's awesome. I wish everyone took a class. It's the easiest way to help save someone. We'll besides calling for an ambulance. I also recommend taking refresher training. It's a skill that people tend to forget if they do not do it all the time. Plus every 5 years, the American Heart Association revises the training guidelines. Taking a refresher class will help you to learn the latest science based techniques to save someone's life.
@@Waynes-xt9gr never know when you will need to do CPR or first aid on someone in need.
Why I'm not surprised it's a filipino girl. ?
LOTS of nurses and similar are in the field...
Applying pressure to stop the bleeding is NOT the same as applying a tourniquet. Applying a tourniquet, you wrap it around the affected limb above the wound. Report the correct information.
Island News please get your facts right! There wasn't a tourniquet used nor a bathing suit shown. Are you doing this for the clicks?
How do you stop bleeding with a bikini top? Also it’s pretty courageous considering she is topless in the public.
Tough wahine
☹️☹️☹️
I have Mr dirty socks
The first thing you need to do is call EMS. Then stop the bleeding.
Nope. You can stop the bleeding and delegate for someone to call 9-11. She wasn’t alone. If she had been the call first is the correct protocol but in this circumstance, responders were there within 3 minutes meaning others called for rescue and she went directly into action mode.
So victim got more than a chest wound?
Yah, I'm wondering where she applied the tourniquet.
@@Eme80865she didn't, the news lady does not know what a tourniquet is... 😂
@@handyvan3422 She scored an exclusive interview. Major props to KITV.
That’s not a tourniquet! Get it right!!!
Pressure bandage.
Does it matter at that point?? This girl helped a person out. Did you? No.
