He seems so excited to teach. You can tell he loves his job.
@Munk good for u, hope you're gonna be something big in life :)
@Araffallea no, he's being dead serious.
Anything to not have to ACE-V it...
On the other hand, she was so bland and unenthusiastic during the whole time it was a little cringy. If he had anyone else with him it would have been much better.
@@Ziphoroc I agree
He looked really offended when she said it’s regular tape
I thought differently.
Not offended. Just "I need to find a simple response to this dumb comment without offending anyone, so let me hold my tongue and think of something to say really quick" look.
The Yoonzor idk. Maybe just rough editing. He seemed insecure the whole time
nGon- if you’re not careful he’ll flex your tape
ohh yess yessssssssss!! now i wanna kill someone. pls dont judge me, my fellow gentlemen. its just an experiment to see if i can evade the popossss
@@jakevote8978 I don't think he seemed insecure nor was she looked disinterested. I don't know what you guys watched.
They might as well just change their UA-cam name to 'Crime Step-By-Step Tutorials'
😂😂😂
Im not complaining, their videos have helped alot
@@toxixbob8375 you tried this technique?
Have you captured a crime? LOL
@@toxixbob8375 Agreed
I guess to counteract this we just need to leave much more DNA on the scene ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

@@sterlingarcher967 okk so what about if anyone burn his/her hand and after that the fingerprints are gone.
@@rishi8730 What I do is I cut my fingerprints, like I slash them, that way the pattern is broken and I will never be identified hehe.
That is so literal
Jesse Barksdale cool info but r/woooosh
@@idyllsend6481 a cut is actually an identification point :))
it looks like she got forced to make this video
I reckon just awkward in front of the camera. But our statements can complement each other.
I think your assumptions are wrong and she is really interested in the topic and paying close attention while trying to learn.
@Crystal KayNine Not so much. The first part of his statement is very much true for Wired. They do it whenever they can.
I’m actually annoyed by her obviously faked deep voice, it reminds me of the theranos lady fake deep voice...
(I’ve studied some oral expression and women often do that so they gat taken seriously, Margaret Tatcher also did it, and is annoying af)
She has zero interest
_conclusion_ : *wear gloves when u do a crime*
That’s already common knowledge lol
And bring someone else's -hand- fingerprints to put theirs instead.
Or put glue on your fingertips..lyk dip them..they won't leave fingerprints
lool is that what you concluded?
i can't imagine how dumb someone would be to not use gloves these days
The tone of her voice makes it sound like she’s bored af
All I hear when she talk is "Whatever..."
Tage Tageson exactly lol
"whats an acetate?" Omg
She doesn't seem bored, her voice tone is just monotone. Overall she seemed interested in the topic when I watched it
Thing is in journalism, often people at the younger end are handed an article or a story or something to do by their bosses, it's a bit later in their careers that they get to do what fascinates them.
So she may be trying to appear interested when really this video isn't where she ultimately wants to be. But she still did her job well enough for us the audience to get the benefit of the expert's experience.
He should have his own channel
Hi, I also make educational videos, if you are interested, can you support me?
Evolution of Everything don’t self promote
I wholeheartedly agree.
@@haydenlewis3570 People promote themselves all the time. Take a look at instagram for example.
Exactly
Honestly she doesn't sound bored to be, she just has a monotone voice
Marry Goround I know right but all I see in the comments are “she looks so bored” ... 🙄
She just sounds serious to me, like she knows this is a serious subject that can be kinda dark, even, and she's having respect for the skills needed. Her voice might be calm, but she's asking good open questions that give him a chance to answer with lots of detail.
Poor monotone humans. 😂
Aspergers maybe?
I think she is indeed bored in the first part, but when it get to bloody part, you can see her excitment

She meant that in more of "what will the chemical do in case we breathe it in" way, she just worded it poorly.
But wont the chemical go in their eyes? I mean, our eyes are blood.

She looks so unamused and unexcited.
I mean she's out of her comfort zone. She's a writer not a presenter.
Yeah what was the channel thinking. Just because she's pretty doesn't mean the camera will love her. She's probably a very good writer but this just makes her feel stiff, and dare I say it, rude.
Right like there was no one else who could have added any less than this chick...
That doesn't mean she wasn't interested (she may have just been nervous). I know multiple people who could be having the best time but still look and sound so bored and unexcited. I'm gonna give her the benefit the doubt

Totally. No criminal knew about fingerprints before this video. :)))
@@RusAres I don't know, there are some stupid criminals out there

They're stupid because they don't know how to google.
King Taro I mean, it’s also stupid to google. If you’re ever suspected and the police takes your computer before you can wipe it, that’s damning evidence. And with how companies and law enforcement are working together more and more these days, I wouldn’t be surprised if just your name, maybe your IP address and your Google email is enough for them to simply subpoena Google and get your entire search history.

She doesn’t sound ‘bored’ but serious in a way that she’s learning something new. It’s educational for her rather than entertaining.
I feel that same way.
She seems genuine and interested. I appreciate how she isn't trying super hard and interrupting the guest like a lot of hosts do.

Who needs Skillshare, Audible etc when Wired has free criminology classes
That's not Criminology, that's Forensics. Criminology is a Social Science which studies crime-related behaviour. Forensics is lab-based or field-based and it requires technical skills. You'll never see a Criminologist lifting fingerprints, they don't know how to do that, they are Psychologists, in essence.

Why does she always begin her questions with “so,” ?

Maybe she is a FBI agent since the FBI almost always says so when they talk
So what?
it's an editing technique that reporters are taught - to begin sentences with a good neutral transition phrase so that if you have to edit, it's easy to find a natural point to transition back into

Why so much hate toward the girl? Maybe that's just her personality
First of all i am thankfull to respected Mr. Matthew Steiner and Miss Louise Mastakis. Yours teaching technic so easy and understandable. As a forensic science discipline student I like it. Thankyou so much.
we do a lot of dusting, lifting, and analyzing fingerprints in my class. if you have lots of dust on the brush and aggressive with brushing the fingerprints, the oils and grease in the fingerprint will smudge making it difficult to analyze the characteristics of the fingerprint and pinpointing the suspect. learning about going with the curve of the fingerprint really helps to avoid smudging it.
i kinda wish we did the other techniques of developing and lifting fingerprints only because it seemed so interesting in the video.
Oh man, our prayers have been answered! When Matthew is getting his on channel
egular segment?
I’m casually watching this at 1.15am and I just asked myself what if it rained oil when they were talking about the glass bottle
America: OIL?
It’s 10:20 am in my current location.
You must be across the world. 😂
then you would try to use the water based part of the fingerprints since that one wouldn't be washed away by an oil rain

Don't you feel some awkwardness or.... hostility between them?
If i was interviewing him i would be WAY more excited than that girl
We do it very different in the uk and safety procedures are a lot stricter, the validity of the results would be questionable and possibly be dismissed in court by this standard. Very interesting to see the difference.

It's more difficult than I imagined. Great information!

There's a video on how to dissolve a body in Lye on UA-cam

And this is her job, she's not trying to make friends
I guess I'm in the minority, but I like this format. Louise asked good questions and I feel like the video would have felt rather slow and awkward if Matt had just been talking to the camera. Great video
