What did you use to hold the edge of the carpet down to the subfloor, the wooden threshold piece that was glued in was just cosmetic, it had nothing to do with holding the carpet down. I do not understand why the carpet was not brought right up to the wooden floor and then turned under and tacked down. The wooden threshold would not be needed.and you would have a cleaner look.

Hi! Because this is just an opening between a room and a hallway, I didn't tack the carpet back down. It's been 2 years with no problems with lifting. Even when I vacuum. That's because it is held down tightly on either side of that opening, all along the hallway. As far as why I used the threshold, it's new tile butting up against old carpet that was trimmed off months before I installed the tile. I trimmed the carpet exactly where I thought I'd end the tile. But when that last full tile ended so close to that cut carpet, I decided a threshold would look better than a 1" thick piece of tile. Plus, I'll eventually get new carpet that will be installed up to the tile. I went with the best looking choice, long-term. 👍

This absolutely did not work. I had a hardwood transition strip that I glued to concrete using liquid nails heavy duty. Two weeks later, the liquid nails still isnt dry, and I have to scrap all this off the concrete floor and the underside of the transition strip to start all over. What a mess….I’m so frustrated I followed this advice.

I used Loctite Power Grab. Not all products work the same. Mine still hasn’t moved 4 years later. Loctite Power Grab on Amazon (Ad): amzn.to/3hXoKHp

Would liquid nails adhesive be good to use too?

Yes, just be sure to use the kind that can stick to cement and plastic or wood (whatever your threshold is made of).

If it's concrete why aren't you screwing into it? You can glue onto anything but will it hold,

I guess for the same reason the pros do it. It’s easy to do, easy to remove, and it works. 👍

Still good. I vacuum over it and we use the room daily. 👍

I tried this with liquid nail and it never dried, for the same reason. It doesn't dry inside the tube

Why don't you read the comments? She has said what type of glue it is lots of times! 🙄
