    Question regarding #12, isn't the preferred Lewis structure of SO2 one where each Oxygen is double-bonded to the Sulfur atom, making the Sulfur's formal charge 0? If not, why is that?

    • @orgtubeR
      @orgtubeR  Місяць тому

      Yes. The dominant Lewis Structure for SO2 is Sulfur with 2 double bond with oxygen and the sulfur formal charge will be zero. In this question I meant the initial lewis structure.

    why is the formal charge on S in SO2 not zero? (question 12)

    • @orgtubeR
      @orgtubeR  Місяць тому

      The Sulfur is +1 but the whole molecule charge is zero

    Thank you! Just wondering if there’s a shortcut to know the bond order of individual atoms like what you did for question 22?

    For number 25, how did you do that math with the specific heat capacity in Celcius, but then you multiplied by the temperature in K, then you canceled the K to Celcius and you were left with Joules? I thought Celcius was 273.15 different then K? Am I mistaken? Thanks for the videos!

      The value of delta T in Kelvin and Celcius is identical.
