Palestine will never die, and "Israel" will never be respected, due to what it has done to Palestine and the Palestinian people. This I am sure of.

In 1954, John Pilger and I were both in class 3D at Sydney Boys' High School. I doubt if I ever talked with him, he was much more mature than me, and I doubt if I ever registered with him. But I always remember him. Even then he would question things - rules, beliefs, opinions, not in an insolent way, but with logic and eloquence. As he progressed through his career, I do not remember anything he ever said that I would disagree with. He was a great Australian, one of the greatest, and I only wish that our World's politicians took more notice of him. He was a better man than all of them! I never saw him again after 1954, but I will miss his humanity, eloquence and brave ciommitment. So will we all.

I will miss him as a human figure and his work a lot - but mostly I appreciate the enormous amount of journalism, he has provided to the world. We have to stop this madness.
We, as one people, can put a stop to this and not be complacent and stand by as another historical tragedy occurs.
History will look back upon us and question where our humanity was whilst our brothers and sisters are being buried under the ruble our very own weapons caused.
I lament all the lost opportunities we had as a species to put so many things right. Greed, Ignorance, Vanity, and the Lust for Power has clouded our minds.
I pray 2024 sees us all work of Peace and Harmony, in order that we raise our children and give them a better world than the one we were given; not worse, like the one we are seemingly creating.
Rest in Peace John. May other brave warriors take your mantle that your efforts may never be silenced.

Back when the title "journalist" meant something, the 20th Century had many superb journalists: John Pilger was one of the best.

On this New Year’s Day, I finally understand what the test of all true believers is. Not the dogma of our so called political or theological “leaders”.
It is “Palestine”, in principle and fact, which is our ultimate test for all of us who profess to follow Abraham. A place where Jews, Christians, and Muslims can live together, in peace, and able to honor our small differences- essentially to honor our mutual humanity. Until this is accomplished, we shall all continue to know the severity of our Lord, and continue to be blind to what his benevolence is really about.

God rest his soul. A beautiful caring man who wasn’t afraid to speak and highlight the injustices of an apartheid cruel occupation. Not just telling us, but showing the daily ugly they deal with. Thank you my friend for caring.

On Nov 5th 2023, John Pilger's last tweet said, "When I was last in Gaza, the Israeli air force terrorized the population by flying fast and loud and low at night. All children bed-wetted and had violent nightmares, said a psychologist, and were 'damaged forever'. Such is Israel's exercise of its 'right to self defense'."
Last year John Pilger said that Palestine is the victim of, "The longest, most brutal, lawless military occupation in modern times..." and "Palestine has been misreported for as long as I can remember..."

We have lost a Truth Warrior, a voice that could be heard above the din without a shout. John Pilger's perspective on humanity, decency and peace I will sorely miss. I am grateful to see this documentary from 25 years ago, so many others need to also! 🕊️
