I’ve had several Toyotas and while they’ve been great, they’re no longer as bulletproof as before. More so now that they’ve gone the Honda way turbocharging most of their models. I also find Toyota’s 4 cylinder engines harsh and noisy unlike our Telluride is so refined and the engine is very smooth. Never had issues with KIA also so for now I prefer the Telluride but I need to test out the Hybrid max.

HERE IS YOUR BELOVED TOYOTA REPUTATION AND RELIABILITY. TOYOTA admitted that data on the power output of 10 models sold worldwide had been manipulated, prompting an apology from Toyota President Koji Sato to the company’s customers. Toyota Motor Corp. said on Monday that power output data had been manipulated for 10 of its models sold globally. Toyota Industries said Monday it fabricated data on the torque output of diesel engines it makes and supplies to Toyota, resulting in a partial halt of shipments of its cars. An independent investigation has expanded to uncover "irregularities" in data for safety tests on 64 models, including 22 sold under the Toyota brand. It means Daihatsu, which first fessed up to rigged data in April and again in May, joins the massed ranks of shamed Japanese automakers discovered to have been concocting test data. Daihatsu (TOYOTA OWNED) stopped all shipments at home and abroad last month due to safety test rigging. Hino motors (TOYOTA OWNED) admitted in March 2022 to submitting fraudulent emissions and fuel economy data to transport authorities.
