Thanks for the tour! I really miss this store here in the States. I have a question... Is it common there to see people going barefoot while shopping or is that more in Australia? Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for watching. Do you not have an equivalent? Not having been to target I thought this might be similar. In the summer it’s common, in the city it’s less so but near the beach I have seen people (and have done myself) popped into the supermarket bare foot. It’s a chilled lifestyle especially in the middle of summer. But it’s middle of winter right now and I’m currently wearing my uggs. 🤣🥾

@@emilyinnz We do have a Walmart and a Target. I guess there was something about Kmarts, maybe because they were around the longest. Yeah, I've spent a lot of time in Florida and going barefoot is more common than here in Virginia where I'm at now.. You'll still see it, especially now because it's Summer here, but Florida is very much more laid back. I go without shoes as much as possible... haha, getting sometimes the occasional stare or comment. Well hang in there, Spring is less than two months away for you!! 👣
Thanks again for sharing... Love your country!

thank you for watching and enjoying NZ, I have loads more videos coming from this beautiful country and our adventures plus loads on my channel already. Thanks winter isn’t too bad - I’m from England and living in Auckland is a temperate climate which I love! It’s a bit chilly today but full sun we’re planning on taking the boat out.

Thanks for watching I’m not sure of the average cost but I did a video where I shopped at low price supermarket and it was still expensive! I’ve put a link below. Next week I’m doing a video where I shop at a medium price supermarket to show the cost.

the average wont be helpful here as groceries can be very seasonal in NZ a cucumber can cost 7.99 in some months and 1.50 in season

😂 “Kmart is Australian owned” (they’ve been based in the Chicago Illinois forever.)

Really I didn’t know that. I wonder if it’s a different company under the same name.

WOW, how long has Sylvia Park had a Kmart? I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I left NZ in 2011.

It’s had one for a while at one point it was the only one in Auckland. It’s a big one and always busy! I imagine there is a lot of new shops since 2011 Sylvia park is huge (for NZ standards) now.

@@emilyinnz Yeah I remember Sylvia Park being quite big, I imagine it has gotten bigger. Oh really, did the Kmart in Papatoetoe/Hunter's Corner close down?

I’ve never seen to that one. Just googled it, it’s still open. I didn’t realised that was the first one.

@@emilyinnz Haha yes that one has been there for years. I remember going to that one when I was a child, I'm in my 40's now.
