The cool thing about videos like this is that they show that you dont have to be doing something super complicated and sophisticated to make it sound nice. Great job!
Very cool thanks for the inspiration. When I was younger I asked Ginger Baker about the basic triplet. He told me to piss off.BIG difference here and 100 times better.

THIS TEACHING IS AWESOME . HUMILITY IS PRICELESS .
ive watched this vid well over a dozen times , love it. i been playin long time but never used foot in fills much , this is the kinda stuff i wanna do. been practisin with the metronome n gettin it slow n sure . if you can play like this ur good. ya gotta keep goin but youll be good if you can do this stuff with feel. nice guy the teacher too. ty
I really Enjoy this video and the first 1...... thank you for breaking things down, sometime trying to learn Chops can be a Straight Over Load...... Thank you for your Gift and your talent.....
Ive been checkin out all your videos for some time now. You are off the hook! Id love to see more videos of how you put your rudiment style fills together with your Gospel-ish stuff. Thats really what that style of playing so fascinating. Learning to smoke it with your hands but then being able to run in and out of those 16th note triplet fills. - Any videos explaining how to combine your hands/rudiments with your gospel touch would be excellent! And MUCH thanks for sharing the info!
Man... I love watching your videos bro! You make things look so simple and break them down for someone like me to understand. Oh ya, and you are HILARIOUS!!
@Thamaddrumma P.S. That new fill you had in your vid sounds just like the one I did in one of my vids! Glad to see that we are thinking alike! I'm gonna practice this stuff and put it in a video response!
Cool lick lesson man. Greetings from the Philippines. The lick you taught on 5:00 onward sounded familiar to me and when I actually tried it out, it turned out to be a revoiced paradiddle-diddle. I'm definitely gonna be experimenting and having fun with this one. I'm also working on trying out those triplet licks you taught on the first part of the vid. Hope to see more videos from you soon. Keep drumming.
Yo from one gospel drummer to another...this is excellent work bro. Thanks for the ideas...and yea...the transitions were funny as hell. But yeah man you are COLD! Good stuff.
Yo dude! You are a dope drummer. I've watched your videos thru the years and must say you stepped your game up on presentation and quailty of teaching how to do the licks. If you got a book let me know I'll definitely buy it. Im from the old school almost 40 but Im a full time musician who's trying to step my game up to get better gigs. I really appreciate you for Quality videos. Be blessed bro.
@Thamaddrumma A more detailed list of your tuning, mics, equipment and sound set up would be a great help. I love your sound and your teaching method. Keep it up
dood love your video Love the fills u are doin u make them seem so simple but i still cant get what ur doing u need to say what hits ur doing bro i would love it if u made another video about the same thing i also am a cristian and would really like for u to put another video to show me how exactly ur doing this stuff by the way u play pretty good
@Thamaddrumma good cause I been growin your fan base over here homie. I turned my buddy onto your site here and excact words were.. DANG DUDE IS A BEAST!!!
No Fucking Way! That's gotta be a great kit in a great room to sound so tight on a single room mic! The bassdrum sounds more like a close-miked one, toms are great as well, the only thing that actually tells me it isn't close miked is you snare really.. If you're thinking about different miking setups, check out the Glyn Johns method with kick or kick&snare close mikes, works great!
Man what metodolgy you normally use when study drums ? This is Amazing and dificult to believe that crazy fills was invented at the time !!!! How do you create them ???
Damn dawg!!!!!,...now that's what I am working on even now. I am now seeing this vid and its very educational plus u got great hands and foot,..u teach well.I posted a little something on youtube also of myself back to basics. Check it out and hit me up on what u think. The heading is trying out stuff rudimentally, a different approach of things.
Your videos are soooo HOT!!! Please tell me in doing this what beat do I start on to make it sound like it's flowing in triplets (if that makes sense). When I do, it sounds like it's missing something or to STRAIGHT
The cool thing about videos like this is that they show that you dont have to be doing something super complicated and sophisticated to make it sound nice. Great job!
