    IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that our purpose was to find a watercolor paper that would print coloring pages in a home printer. That was our priority-to help our coloring community experience the joy of coloring with water based media on watercolor paper with sizing. This paper is not a 300gsm cotton watercolor paper-we tested several brands of that type of paper and could never find one that was home printer friendly. In the end there were only a couple that we could consistently print on with both inkjet and laser printers. So it’s not the best watercolor paper out there, but it is the best we’ve found for printing on at home.

      Thank you for clarifying this. I am a professional watercolor artist and was confused by some of the claims.

    This past week I had the opportunity to meet the person who makes the Olo pens. We had a market show, I told him about your program and how you keep the group updated about various pens and other art tools. He gave me a box of sample pens. These pens are so cool. I can't wait to try your paper.

    This is super. So glad you found a heavier weight that goes through a printer. My brother laser has a back door for thicker paper so the sheets don't curl up.

    Jennifer, I just got my tri-tone swatchbooks in the mail for my prismacolor pencils and ohuhu markers. I am so excited to start working on these! I'm going to watch your video again on how to complete these swatchbooks. Thank you so much for developing these. It gives me a lot of excitement to create art!

    You should explain that sizing is made from animals, i.e gelatin, (which it why it can stink and discolor over the years.). I don’t think some people realize that. There are plant based gelatins that could be used for sizing out there and some companies use them but, I feel companies just don’t care about improving on the cruelty free options and it’s a shame.

    I have a new hp think tank straight path printer. Love it. But alas it won't take canson 300 gsm watercolor paper. Do u think the 228 gsm would work? I've been thinking about toying around with watercolor. I guess I'll just have 2 try it. Duh! Good price. Love that it's already cut. This could b a game changer 4 me.
    I am a member. Love the stuff u guys do.

      I have an Epson ecotank (I think its an et-2850) with a rear paper feeder and I've had no issue with 220-230 gsm watercolor/mixed media paper. I've had good luck with the student grade Canson that is 224gsm (or similar). I've been able to get it to take 260gsm but you have to gently push the paper down while the printer is trying to pull it into the feeder, if that makes sense. My printer gives you a few tries to print before it gives up so I have a few chances to get it right. Once you figure it out it's pretty easy. I have tried 270-300gsm paper with no luck and I've had to clean my nozzle afterwards because something gets messed up when I've tried. To note, this will only work on a printer that has a rear paper feeder, the paper will jam in a printer that needs to "roll" the paper in.

    I don’t understand the pad of paper on Amazon showing 140# paper but it is not 300 gsm. The weight and gsm measurement has to match the industry standard unless I am missing something here. I have a paper trimmer and can cut down a larger sheet of paper to print on my printer so no need to buy 8.5 x 11” paper. I have printed on cellulose paper and it worked just fine, don’t remember the brand however.

      The “pounds” can vary based on the paper stock which is why we always recommend looking at the gsm which is consistent. For example, a 110lb index stock is thinner than a 100lb cover stock.

    Jennifer, Can it be a wildlife pet? My husband & I live in an apt. that is too expensive to have pets so we have sort of adopted the wild life we see when driving around.

    I’d like to make some paint by numbers from my original artwork. I’m wondering if my inkjet paper will do a good job. Also I would like the lines to be very thin, barely visible. Will this work?

      They work great! In fact, any water based media will work better on it because of the sizing. Several years ago we set out to find a watercolor paper, with sizing, that could run through our home printer and this is the result.

    Steve, I have a small Brother laser colored printer. Will this go through my printer? I usually don't go any higher than 80#. Many thanks. Jennifer

    • @thestevestay
      @thestevestay Місяць тому +1

      If it has a straight paper path, then you should have no problem. If it doesn’t, and has to curl the page through the printer, then I’m not sure. I would look at the gsm of your 80lb paper…it may be the same or even greater than the 228gsm of this paper.
