A witty, romantic, and very dangerous love story about chance meetings, instant attractions, and casual betrayals. CLOSER is director Mike Nichols' critically acclaimed look at four strangers - Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen - with one thing in common: each other. Adapted by Patrick Marber from his award-winning stage play, CLOSER "VIBRATES WITH EROTICISM, BRUISING LAUGHS, AND DYNAMIC PERFORMANCES. CLOSER IS A TRIUMPH!" - Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE

The movie is about obsession, having all the need, yet wanting more to point of obsession. The truth is sometimes everything you want and need is exactly what you already have.
Clive Owen has a very strong voice,it might seem weird but he would be excellent James Bond
Clive Owen ❤❤ what a beautiful man.
Many say I rival Him .. a compliment for me of course ..
Especially his voice
He is handsome indeed!
3:50 When Alice turns away we see that she's actually sad and her slick sultry act with Larry was mostly a put-on. Foreshadowing for the scene later on in the movie at the strip club. Didn't really catch this until now
What you caught was your own interpretation .. and a good one ..
I didn't catch that either. Her heart is breaking because her boyfriend is still in love with Anna.
This was a GOOD MOVIE👍🏽
Dan leaves out the truth. Why would he leave out the truth?
Because he's a liar! A writer! Not a storyteller! He can't understand love because he can't understand compromise! You know what a human heart looks like? It looks like a fist wrapped in blood
Because he doesn't even know Alice's real name.
He's Shelly's boyfriend and he's out of his mind.
Adoro esta película, la actuación de Natalie Portman y Clive Owen son geniales ❤
Larry is vile. Alice acted to cover up her sweet and vulnerable self as she recognized vileness from miles away in that guy.
I feel they had a nice moment of strange without the baggage .. a pause .. a treat
Interesting. Why do you feel this way?
yes she almost cry when he leaves
He's not vile - he's just honest - which many people mistake for vulgarity. What's vile are the false pretenses we put up - which is what the whole movie is about.
Alice is hardly an angel. Her whole life in London was a facade, her name isn't even Alice. Which allows her to disappear at the end of the movie knowing that Dan - (as well as all the rest of them) - will never be able to find her. Suggesting that the very reason she was in London to begin with was that she was on the run from a similar situation somewhere else. Which at the very least is a toxic pattern, pathological to at least some extent.
And Alice doesn't cry because of anything Larry did or said in this scene, she cries because she realises her man hasn't gotten over Anna.
anything with roberts makes me nauseaous as she is always the same person in very role and it is boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And yet male actors do that all the time. Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd, Chris Pratt, Will Smith... virtually the same person in every film. I'm not criticising it, just curious why it's only a negative when women do it? I wonder why that could be...
@@Hedge_witch you are 100% correct - thank you
Both losers🎉
So are you
