    Invaluable info thank you. I traded my 5 year old a9 for a7iv and don’t regret it at all. Just an enthusiast, nobody ever sees my pics but I don’t care - it’s my hobby and it’s what I like to do. Thanks SO much for your videos 👍🇬🇧

      You are too humble...I wager you are very good. Photography is my (expensive) hobby as well. As a complete newbie chose the Sony A7S III.....didn’t even know what a mega pixel was...thought it would be cool to shoot kids sporting events. Its been one hell of a learning curve but so much fun. Now I want a better stills Camera....I would have to sell a kidney to get the Sony A7R V so I think I will get the A7IV as well. Good Idea? What lenses do you like? Cheers from Canada.

    When the couple walks down the aisle towards me, another good tip is to use a 35mm when shooting horizontally, then switch it to crop mode (~1.5x) which will give you a field of view closer to 50mm to shoot vertically. That way you have one camera, one lens, multiple possibilities.

    I’ve got 3 weddings left this year-took November/December off, and this is the first season with Sony, and the A7iv x 2. I decided after watching your videos, to sell all,my Fujifilm gear and go Sony. Zero regrets.

    You convinced me that the A7iv had the refinements I wanted from a Sony body. I've shot like 16 weddings with them and I love them. A huge step up from the trusty D750. And I looooove the lenses. From the perfection of the GM lenses, to the versatility of third party options.

    I have the A7 iv and A73 using them for concert photography. The A73 has a slide advance in editing the low light photos and in the ISO performance.

    I have a problem. When I am trying to upload a video file into Premiere Pro via card adapter it's says that the card is empty. When I connect the camera it's self to my PC it's fine . I don't have the same issues with the photo files. They get uploaded in Lightroom directly from the card without problem. How can I fix that? Thank you.

    Great video, as usual! I also like your accent. When you say “auto focus” I hear “out of focus”. So I hear “the a7iv out-of-focus system”. Made me smile. I will look at purchasing your Lightroom presets. Thanks for your videos. I have an A1 and an A7iv. Also the RX100iv, which works better for me than my iphone.

    9:00 I have a question: If the groom is not at the exact focal plane as the bride, the groom's face will be slightly out of focus or at least not as sharp. In this case, should I prioritize subject separation using F1.4 or 1.2 or prioritize the sharpness for the couple using F2.8-ish. If the couple see the photo that he is slightly out of focus, will they dislike the photo or think it is a failed shot?

    • @megamastah
      @megamastah 3 місяці тому

      Good question. Not a pro photographer, but I'd steer towards f1.8 or f2 to be on the safe side. f2.8 might be a tad too slow. I can recommend to do some calculations using depth of field calculator, it also comes with eg. photopills app.

    I own the a7iv I think at the very least they could reduce the 4K 60 crop to like 1.2x 1.3x or 1.4x instead of 1.5x they did a smaller crop for the a7rv so I don’t see why they couldn’t reduce on the a7iv it’s the very least they could do to help them and there customers or maybe remove or make a mark 2 I reckon if we work together they will have to listen and make a change and with your large platform and influence would really help if you could spread the idea around thx

    I love the silent shutter on my A9 at weddings. It allows me to get more natural photos without people noticing. My second body is the A7iv, the controls are so similar switching between them is not a problem. It's a great camera, the body feels better than my A9 apart from the flip out screen, which I still hate. Im hoping for a A9iii with 33mp, flash in silent so I don't have to switch and a screen like the A9 or the Nikon Z9 .

    • @markshirley01
      @markshirley01 2 роки тому

      Yes the Z9 screen is perfect for me, Im not a big fan of the flip screen. Im moving from Nikon to a Sony A74 soon, I'll kick myself if Nikon bring out a Z8 or Z6III with the Z9 screen 😕

    I'm very excited to be buying this camera. It ticks all the boxes for me in photo and video. I've shot Nikon since 2002 but never been convinced about buying a Z camera. The new Tamron 20 - 40mm tipped me into making the decision to move systems. I'm sure Nikon will bring out a mid market Z with the Z9 AF, and it'll be a great camera all the tech is there in the Z9, its just I can't wait for all the lenses to catch up.
    Id say the only disappointing thing is the mixed media and A card that I hear is more expensive than B cards.

    • @MagicWeddingPhotographer
      @MagicWeddingPhotographer  Рік тому +2

      Hey, I don’t use back button, so to focus I only need to half press shutter. I used tracking so as soon as I locked on person I knew it’s not gonna loose focus

    • @maeco.photography168
      @maeco.photography168 Рік тому

      @@MagicWeddingPhotographer Thank you for your reply! So maybe I need to try out shutter focus again! I am still having a hard time grasping how you do two at once haha! Do you find the focus on the couple on the first one and then move it into position and get the second one ready for horizontal? Am I thinking about this too hard? LOL I shoot with 2 a9ii cameras, but just ordered an a7iv.

    • @megamastah
      @megamastah 3 місяці тому

      @@maeco.photography168 that's exactly it - select tracking AF area of your choice, acquire focus on person X, keep shutter half pressed, change the composition to your liking and fire away. Another method (which can be used for both tracking and non-tracking focus areas) is to assign AF-on (or any custom key of your choice) as AFL, so acquire focus, let go of the shutter button, recompose, keep AF-on (AFL) pressed, take photos - this requires your targets not to move closer/further away though.
      Back button AF is overrated, it's a muscle memory and a habit of old-time DSLR users.

    want to get an a7iv + 50 gm to start shooting weddings and portraits, is it good set up for start shooting? or it will be better take an a7iv + 24-70 gm ii ?? can't decide , help pls)

    • @Revan89
      @Revan89 2 роки тому +1

      The 24-70 will be way more versatile. Specially if you do weddings. And after shooting for a while, you can check your lightroom metadata to see if you gravitate to certain focal lengths. Maybe you tend to shoot at 50mm, so then that could be your next investment. Also, if you don't have other equipment and plan to do weddings, please please please invest in a second body and a cheap prime like the 35mm 1.8 for safety. If anything goes wrong, you will be able to keep shooting.

    Thanks for this amazing insight video! I am in the kindergarten photography business. Until now I am using a 7iii but with some fast autofocus problem when letting the small ones run (real fast), jump (sometime not looking into the camera) and just go Nuggets… all the great stuff I want to photograph 🤩🥳 this year I went home with nearly 80.000 images in 3-4 months… many of them missing focus because if the nature (children) of what I am photographing. I am thinking in upgrading to 7iv or A1. For better autofocus and being faster when doing my job, since I want less images that are out of focus. Since you also have family shootings, what is your suggestion in this matter? Thanks for feedback 🧡

    There is no way you took those 2 shots together, as the 50 looks further away with the couple much further away aswell, and the 35 looks close with the couple closer to the lense. if anything the perspective should be the opposite for both photos your highlighting, if you took both these shots together.....im just saying......
