Now I want a better stills Camera....I would have to sell a kidney to get the Sony A7R V so I think I will get the A7IV as well. Good Idea? What lenses do you like? Cheers from Canada.
When the couple walks down the aisle towards me, another good tip is to use a 35mm when shooting horizontally, then switch it to crop mode (~1.5x) which will give you a field of view closer to 50mm to shoot vertically. That way you have one camera, one lens, multiple possibilities.

Great video! I'm planning to upgrade to A7iv soon... i started with A7, to A7ii, now 2x A7iii... best system for creative photography. Especially focus system i can rely on and i can work on composition and posing...

thanks your feedback, it's confort my feelings about my first summer of weddings!! it's an amazing camera for that ! And your shoot at 2:20, are you serious ? it's an unbelievable powerful picture!! Your are really a magic photographer!!
I’ve always been afraid to under expose anything less than -.3 but since I switched to the A7IV recently, I’m gonna trust the camera a bit more. Thanks!
I have a problem. When I am trying to upload a video file into Premiere Pro via card adapter it's says that the card is empty. When I connect the camera it's self to my PC it's fine . I don't have the same issues with the photo files. They get uploaded in Lightroom directly from the card without problem. How can I fix that? Thank you.
Great video, as usual! I also like your accent. When you say “auto focus” I hear “out of focus”. So I hear “the a7iv out-of-focus system”. Made me smile. I will look at purchasing your Lightroom presets. Thanks for your videos. I have an A1 and an A7iv. Also the RX100iv, which works better for me than my iphone.
9:00 I have a question: If the groom is not at the exact focal plane as the bride, the groom's face will be slightly out of focus or at least not as sharp. In this case, should I prioritize subject separation using F1.4 or 1.2 or prioritize the sharpness for the couple using F2.8-ish. If the couple see the photo that he is slightly out of focus, will they dislike the photo or think it is a failed shot?
Good question. Not a pro photographer, but I'd steer towards f1.8 or f2 to be on the safe side. f2.8 might be a tad too slow. I can recommend to do some calculations using depth of field calculator, it also comes with eg. photopills app.
I own the a7iv I think at the very least they could reduce the 4K 60 crop to like 1.2x 1.3x or 1.4x instead of 1.5x they did a smaller crop for the a7rv so I don’t see why they couldn’t reduce on the a7iv it’s the very least they could do to help them and there customers or maybe remove or make a mark 2 I reckon if we work together they will have to listen and make a change and with your large platform and influence would really help if you could spread the idea around thx
Thank you for the feedback on your use of the Sony Alpha 7IV. Out of curiosity, when you are in "wedding" conditions, do you generally favour aperture or speed? Or are you in manual ? With ISO in auto? :)
I love the silent shutter on my A9 at weddings. It allows me to get more natural photos without people noticing. My second body is the A7iv, the controls are so similar switching between them is not a problem. It's a great camera, the body feels better than my A9 apart from the flip out screen, which I still hate. Im hoping for a A9iii with 33mp, flash in silent so I don't have to switch and a screen like the A9 or the Nikon Z9 .
Yes the Z9 screen is perfect for me, Im not a big fan of the flip screen. Im moving from Nikon to a Sony A74 soon, I'll kick myself if Nikon bring out a Z8 or Z6III with the Z9 screen 😕
I'm very excited to be buying this camera. It ticks all the boxes for me in photo and video. I've shot Nikon since 2002 but never been convinced about buying a Z camera. The new Tamron 20 - 40mm tipped me into making the decision to move systems. I'm sure Nikon will bring out a mid market Z with the Z9 AF, and it'll be a great camera all the tech is there in the Z9, its just I can't wait for all the lenses to catch up. Id say the only disappointing thing is the mixed media and A card that I hear is more expensive than B cards.
Do you not use Back Button Focus? I'm curious on how you are able to do the two cameras at once during the wedding recessional and not worry about where its focusing.
Hey, I don’t use back button, so to focus I only need to half press shutter. I used tracking so as soon as I locked on person I knew it’s not gonna loose focus
@@MagicWeddingPhotographer Thank you for your reply! So maybe I need to try out shutter focus again! I am still having a hard time grasping how you do two at once haha! LOL I shoot with 2 a9ii cameras, but just ordered an a7iv.
@@maeco.photography168 that's exactly it - select tracking AF area of your choice, acquire focus on person X, keep shutter half pressed, change the composition to your liking and fire away. Another method (which can be used for both tracking and non-tracking focus areas) is to assign AF-on (or any custom key of your choice) as AFL, so acquire focus, let go of the shutter button, recompose, keep AF-on (AFL) pressed, take photos - this requires your targets not to move closer/further away though. Back button AF is overrated, it's a muscle memory and a habit of old-time DSLR users.

want to get an a7iv + 50 gm to start shooting weddings and portraits, is it good set up for start shooting? or it will be better take an a7iv + 24-70 gm ii ?? can't decide , help pls)
The 24-70 will be way more versatile. Specially if you do weddings. And after shooting for a while, you can check your lightroom metadata to see if you gravitate to certain focal lengths. Maybe you tend to shoot at 50mm, so then that could be your next investment. Also, if you don't have other equipment and plan to do weddings, please please please invest in a second body and a cheap prime like the 35mm 1.8 for safety. If anything goes wrong, you will be able to keep shooting.
