    I love these educational Videos and you sitting on the floor, sometimes drinking and eating while filming makes the video really chill. You are a vibe man! Would love a Video on structuring Workouts and different Skills. Please dont change the style to all the professional, general, high edited advice, i really like it like this. You sitting on the ground and being so chill is actually kind of iconic since i never seen anyone do this haha

    I totally agree with you since this is what happened to me when I was first learning the Front lever. I always heard that you should be doing it in the perfect form because if you don't do it in the perfect form that is not going to pay off, which pushed me to decrease the volume of my full front lever training and sticking with the easier progressions. I just tried it for once or twice every front lever session, trying to hold in the perfect from. I wasn't able to advance more than 3 sec hold for about two months; I got stuck there which was very frustrating. Then I realised that my easier progressions were becoming so much stronger while my full front lever is not advancing at all, or at least very very slowly. For example, I was already able to do 5 half lay front lever pulls in a good form, but wasn't able to hold more than 3 sec in the full front lever (in a good from), which I somehow knew wasn't normal. Then I decided to be more specific and don't care much about the form. I just tried to increase the volume of my full front lever without caring much about the form, which tremendously helped me. I progressed faster than ever in my full front lever. After two months of being specific and increasing the volume as much as possible, I was able to increase my hold from 3 sec hold to 12 sec hold in a perfect form.
    This is not to say that progressions are useless. No they are really helpful, but not the absolute key for the main skills. Once you unlock a specific skill, try to gradually increase the volume of the main skill, meaning performing it in as much sets as possible, without caring too much about the form, and to be more specific. And this is what I have been doing since then, and to be honest it has been absolutely game changing.

    Been really loving these videos, it's something nobody else is doing, and I feel blessed because knowing these things open up so many more options. Almost nobody talks about cheating the form a little so this is a little new to me, but it really makes sense. I just recently realized I wasn't pushing myself hard enough on the front lever as I would rarely do bodyweight and just stick with bands, and not even go to failure with the bands, now from my last few workouts i've switched to basically not using bands for planche and increasing the intensity on front lever, and i'm already getting accustomed to my own weight and seeing very good results. Really grateful for your videos dude

  • @FilippoCardoni
    @FilippoCardoni Місяць тому +2

    i am the living proof of what you preach. I started Calisthenics waaaay back, 14 years ago, probably I was one of the very first athletes ever, and it was literally my first and only sport. 14 years later I'm nowhere near today's standards. Yes I can planche, yes I can press, I can push, but as you said my endurance is basically one set, that's it. And my reps are low.
    I'm not going to say I'm necessarily "weak" because I can do almost all the skills (stopped training maltese and back lever hefesto for an injury and I too hate victorian lol) but I'd be lying if i said I can do them comfortably or combo them. Why? Because back then the hype was all about perfect form.
    And sure enough like Nathan said I DID progress and I DID unlock the skills of my dreams but I am still WEAK in those, even after 14 years. Because I always held back, like his student did.
    If we had Nathan back then by now I would be far stronger, no cap. But I'll keep following your advice and see how it goes.
    So thanks again for the videos because they're truly helpful at least to those who want to listen and understand how this all works.

    Hello Nathan, currently I can only do one full press and it is very difficult for me.
    The only way to increase volume for full planche press is to work in halflay planche and currently I can do 3 presses, my goal is to do 5 in halflay. What do you think about this? Do you think it is a good strategy to improve my full planche press?

    • @nathanbosech
      @nathanbosech  Місяць тому

      Why don’t you do your full press try to negative open in stradle try to press the stradle negative in tuck try to press the tuck or even use a band if your not a fan of progression

  • @LeLeDeLaGeo
    @LeLeDeLaGeo Місяць тому +2

    En vrai j’aimerais, si tu veux bien, avoir ton avis sur ma progression, perso j’ai actuellement 9 secondes de full avec une forme dont je suis plutot satisfait(je me mettrais a peu près 8/10 vrmt a la louche mais voila, pas pr me vanter mais au moins sa te donne une idée) et je sais que j’ai toujours bossé en alternant le travail de forme a l’élastique et le travail de volume, et j’ai jamais vraiment eu ce « gros » volume dont tu parle, j’ai du maximum avoir 3/4 secondes bad form en comptant la descente a un moment mais c’est tout, après je suis immédiatement passé a 4/5 secondes good form.
    Si t’a le temps de me répondre alors merci, je demande quasiment jamais rien aux athlètes en général donc voila 🫡
