Sowing in spring and harvesting in autumn is a constant way of life in the village. Autumn is also always the busiest and richest time of the year, when you need to harvest all the crops you’ve worked hard on and store them for winter, preparing food for the year. It’s only when the house is full of food that you feel secure. The corn hanging from the eaves is the food for pigs and cows, and the fruits on the trees are snacks for the family. In this season, people can always enjoy food at will, flesh out, and make up for the labour of harvesting crops.

Wie schön es ist zu sehen, wie die Oma und Opa mit in das Leben und die Arbeit einbezogen werden. Sie werden nicht sich selbst überlassen. Sie helfen mit und werden liebevoll versorgt. So leben sie lange und zufrieden und haben einen Sinn, auch im Alter.
Leider gibt's hier im Westen solche Verhältnisse nicht mehr. Die alten Menschen werden als Belastung angesehen. Sehr traurig. Behaltet eure Lebensweise und Tradionen. 😊

Sy liat, mrk slalu punya persedian jagung kering yg banyak. Utk apa ya? Dimakankah? Klo di kampung kami, jagung kering biasanya disimpan utk pakan ternak ayam. Klo jagung kering utk dikonsumsi, jarang. Sebab, mengolahnya susah..

This gurll took millet's and popped em like corn, fried them with honey and made a nutritional crisp bar /tea cake that's brilliant, I leave my millet's for the birds but this is a must try, beautiful family thanks for sharing
Chinese ppl have countless ways of prepping grains considered not appetizing in the west. Ive seen her shared many more recipes for making yummy dishes out of “obscure” grains/wild plants. I don’t have her cooking talents, but I love making a thin millet porridge with a pinch of salt, honey and some goji berries in it. It pairs well with any meat dishes, bread/buns and fruit salad. Millet is high in minerals and protein, low in carbs, so it’s great substitution for ppl on diets.

its so amazing to me how so many of those fruit trees and veggies grow here in Puerto Rico and i have allot of them, i think many of them did come from places such as Japan, China, Korea or the Phillipines which we do share many similarities with.
