A few years ago I was at a national park just north of where I live and stopped by a beaver pond for a look around. I had noticed some noise coming from the pond and it was two Beavers chirping at eachother. Funniest thing I have seen wild animals doing because the Beavers looked so intense at eachother. Just thought I would share that little story.
At one of my old jobs there was a creek that one year beavers came in and built a dam. It was fascinating to watch it get larger by the day. Apparently its also poisonous (all parts according to Wikipedia). I think the ones near us are just wild grapes spread by birds perching in the cedars and then pooping out the seeds so we have to cut then down (an ATV and chainsaw make it go much faster, most of the vines are only and inch or so in diameter but even they get quite a grip) vines will definitely kill trees if left untouched and the one in the video is probably too far gone to save the tree.

When I finish a beaver control job, i always try to get the landowner to install a fence around the culvert instead of the grate across the front. I don't understand the logic in doing half the job for the beaver by giving them something to build against. A cattle panel in a horseshoe shape around the front connected to the bank always works better from my experience.
On that first spot I think they should put in a box culvert in the road, which means increasing the height of the road a little (which isn't a bad thing) so that you have a level crossing over it for heavy traffic that might pass.
