I think a diging bar would be perfect for this job. It might come in handy in other situations for smashing or prying things that the rake can't handle! That's if it doesn't take up too much space in your ride. 😉
appreciate your intensity all year 'round!! Of course the 99.999% of us would wait until better weather, but obviously the fun isnt just for fair weather
Hi Buddy, I just subscribed to both of your channels. I never thought watching culvert cleaning would be so interesting. Thanks for sharing. From Naples Florida
Always great to see new videos from you Post10! I'm glad you didn't push your luck with that one. You couldn't get a proper and safe foothold. You probably need one of those long metal ice breakers. I think they use them in construction too to break up concrete, etc. Be safe! 😊🌻
Post, I thought you were going to lose your rake or axe or even worse you were going to go under. I am glad it was just not being able to unclog it! Your Spidey powers weren't working that day.
Sometimes I wonder if a mattock would be a good tool for you. Help you break up tougher things like ice or tough dirt. Either way, a fun video despite everything
every time you make a video about this lake inlet, the more i notice that it is getting more battered by winter ice each time. hopefully next year it would still be intact.
Thank God you are also only human 🤣🤣🙏 and ofcourse people can make mistake stil nice video keep it up and still a bit late but best wishes for 2023 may the unclogsss be wuth you 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
This looked really unsafe, if you slipped, if the ice or debris gave way, if the rotted rebar let go if you fell and dislodged a blockage only to be at the mercy of delta p. Still, kind of surprised you didn't push the debris back more, a few feet, to let the river take it. Not sure if it'd make a difference. But could have have more room to move tools around. Also, another angle, hold the rebar ladder with left hand, facing river, and swinging down and back, maybe work blockage from that side, just careful not to over power and ding the blade on the concrete. Still not too safe. Real lousy inlet design - it clogs easily and has no easy way to unclog, unless using an excavator. I'd design one with some ledges or horizontal grooves for workers to put some wood or metal deck on temporarily at various heights. I could almost envision using the vertical grooves normally intended to change inlet height limit, as a vertical anchor for a wood deck countersunk between, with caps to sit on top of concrete wall, but you'd need custom made leveler blocks in between or something, due to worn/smashed concrete tops. That culvert inside may have some life left in it, but this inlet looks like it's at the end of life and probably should be redone, with a better design for maintenance.
I hope you're not going to let this be the one to get you... You will eventually get this one cleared David... Right? Otherwise this will be the one that will always be in the back of yours and my mind. I'm counting on you to get this one cleared some time down the road... Somehow... Never give up...! If at 1st you don't succeed Try, Try Again!
You worked backwards.. id've started digging into the ice nearest the river and chucking the pieces into the current less mass to deal with in the long run.
I was holding my breath the whole time 😮 "omg he's gonna fall in!" "omg no, not an axe-ident!!"
WHEW! 😁
You took the words out of my mouth. I was thinking the same thing!
Howard Cosell--"Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!"
Same. I was worried that p10 was going to get hurt. Relieved when the "not going to plan" was just the failure to remove the ice.
Golly I was afraid you'd fall in and sink or something. Thankfully it wasn't that bad! Be safe, Post!
💕From the Philippines 🤗
Give 'em the ol' frazzle-dazzle...
Even though this didn't go as planned, it was still a great video 👍.
Agree.
His wins far succeed his loses. There just sometimes man can not over power nature. Still a great video anyway!
Well, that didn't look precariously dangerous at all. 😳 That pit always gives me the shivers!
You can't win 'em all, but at least you had a go. Thanks for trying and sharing.
Sometimes there are reasons, we can't explain, why things don't go as planned. Glad you are safe.
5:21 I love the way the frazzle ice almost looks like it's breathing as the current of the river goes in and out.

Yes, I've used one when digging post holes in extreme rock and clay. They would have no problem with that ice.
Hey dude, I’ve been following you for a long time.

As the old poem says "The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." I always remember those words when things go wrong
To quote the bard "The best laid plans o' mice an' men gang aft agley"!
That's all true though it's not just a poem
Tell me about the rabbits George
It's a better adventure when it doesn't go as planned!

Always fascinated how you can stand the cold!
Thank you for the video. Careful going home. 😊
The saying is adapted from a line in “To a Mouse,” by Robert Burns: “The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / Gang aft a-gley.”

Wow posty! I was holding my breath, especially when you started to fall in! Yikes. That frazzle ice looked amazing, almost like breathing
“Thats a shame!” Lol been there know the feeling. Tryin to get a video in and something ruins the time spent
Love the videos post. Stay warm and stay safe dude!
The whole time watching this I was worried that rebar step was going to give way 😅

Wow bet those hands are cold. Sometimes things dont work but you gave it a try for sure.
Wish you were here in California Post 10..We sure could use you 👍
I was anticipating you to fall in and go for an involuntary ice water swim, while watching this video :D With such a video title......
Good thing you had your big high boots on. 😮
Make merch that says frazzle ice 😂
Do you have one of ice things with a spiral on the end?
A pike pole would come in handy for something like that to break up the ice.
every time you make a video about this lake inlet, the more i notice that it is getting more battered by winter ice each time. hopefully next year it would still be intact.
Still pretty cool! Great sounds and a great guy for trying.
Hey post! Did you get any footage of the storm today :) Also - great video, as usual.
Good on you for knowing when to stop!
It was still an interesting and enjoyable video.
When the rake sank, I sad GET OUT OF THERE. Taket care of yourself first.👍
Are you from Connecticut by chance because if so I'd like to get more tips on better ways to clean up clogs
Good effort
Thanks to Post 10, i know the difference between a bridge and a culvert, and also what frazil ice is. :D
Good effort!!!
