i've driven a ruf ctr2 in a sim racer and this is very relatable.
Somehow I still remember how many times this anime emphasises that tuning won't work like magic tricks and there are many other aspects that needs to be taken into account (especially in the Supra episodes). It doesn't tend to overglorify the power of tuning, thus I consider it a meaningful lesson to learn.

First accident was unrealistic.
Firstly, the cones and barriers only went past his car. It only hit the bumper so how did the window even shatter.
The next thing is his car was facing forward directly but somehow his car decided to yeet itself into the wall.
Then once the car bounced off the guardrail it didn’t spin as realistically but instead didn’t move a single inch and just yeet itself into the same guardrail.

I think that we are forgoting something Important. Touge is a discipline were maneaurability is paramount, all the power in the world is meaningless if the car strugles to turn at speed. On the other hand, Highway run or Sprint races are all about speed and stability, and thats important because maneaurability and stability are the oposite of the other. By definition, a more maneaurable car is less stable, and a more stable car is less maneaurable.

Im by no means a car expert, nor have i watched this anime, so idk if my comment is even valid....but these cars look like they are going fast, yeah, but also, in a straight line....and they understeer and oversteer like crazy under any steering input...aint that....unrealistic? To an extent?... Again, idk much, so pls correct me if im wrong
Also, ik these are meant to be old cars, and tires back then werent as good as current tires, so yeah, i took that into consideration.

Uh, I think you got it backwards, bud. Initial D's characters in the first few seasons look horrible.
After watching this anime, I had only one question: do truck drivers actually know how to look in mirrors? Most of these accidents happened only because the truck was changing lanes right in front of the cars coming from behind.
