@@hugonubario no it wasnt, first and 2nd stage have aged really well initial d was the first anime that attempted to mix 2D assets and 3D assets onto the same scene so heavily, the technology for it hadnt been developed almost atall before initial d
Of course, Nakazato was (and is) the most reasonable defense in Gunma against the Lancer EVO's, Because the only other cars were an AE86 and an RX-7 FC, both of which were outdated in comparison to the much more modern Lancer EVO line up. Thus it makes something like a Skyline GT-R incredibly viable against it.
3:00 to 3:45 just gives me huge goosebumps every time I rewatch it. You just feel the anger and speed of the R32 and that Nakazato is racing his damned hardest. The way the dials move up in the speedometer and rpm's is just phenomenal with the engine's noise in the back of it, muffled a bit since you're inside. I can almost feel the vibrations of the car myself. This truly is amazing work my guy, the attention to so many small details is phenomenal
This is just phenomenal, I wish they would redo the whole anime like this, you put so much attention to small details like for example when the camera shortly cuts to the "pedal cam" the fabric of the carpet is so well made, it truly gives the feeling of a fluffy car carpet when looking at it. The animation is so fluid and nice, also pretty realistic, for example when the evo starts drifting, it needs to make a very harsh movement to upset the balance of the car for it to actually start drifting and then it will corner with a very high angle and when entering the drift recovery phase of the corner exit, unlike a rwd car, the evo went a lot to the outside due to the understeer coming from the power on the front wheels, making it actually very belivable. Very well, this video is art in my honest opinion.
This really captures the “essence” of Initial D!! Not a lot of modern Initial D fan content can produce this… this _feeling_ that the series once sparked within me all those years ago!!
I really hate this battle for how it ended. In First Stage Nakazato was hyped up and showed that he was able to keep up with Ryosuke, but then the writers decided to completely end his career in this race. I mean I would be fine if he still lost, but at least finished the race, because this was just too sad and heartbreaking...
well to be fair when Nakazato was against Ryosuke not only he had power advantage Akina was not as difficult as Myogi is. Myogi had tons of corners with barely any straightaway, whilst Akina had some but not long straightaway.
well as the character setting said,Nakazato was not bad,but tends to get out of control under pressure I kinda understand him,it's just like falling behind a friend in asseto corsa, and you'll push so hard that you'll make mistakes to get him annnnnd that's basically the time you crash
2:54 in the first stage, nakazato stated that you can tell how good a driver’s technique is based on the aura coming off his taillights, and in this, seiji had a very prominent aura, and nakazato has none, which makes me sad because nakazato isn’t a bad driver
he didnt say that it came from the taillights, just that they had an aura around them. and yeah nakazato is good but seiji was just better and had a better car
By watching closely at 4:40, you can really tell how much time and attention to detail went into the animation just by how all of the cars' suspension moves from the small dip in the road as they pull out! Crazy. The charachter animations are unique too, i like them.
Holy shit I love how much you changed the battle. Not only the angles and effects changed the experience, but even lengthening it but adding different views! The Fifth Stage soundfile kicking off at 3:07 was just 🔥🔥🔥 Also that very change at the ending where it heavily implies Nakazato lost due to Seiji's feint brake and not dur to understeer alone was, unexpected. Sure, not canon maybe, but was a very nice change, implying Nakazato wasn't a dumb headed racer as shown in main series.
In fact, the reason for Nakazato's defeat is still understeer. Nakazato had reached so much speed that Seiji braking before the turn took Nakazato by surprise. It was not Seiji's intention to make Nakazato lose by braking.
Following the manga explanation, Chapter 83. The Story says that Nakazato was losing his cool and focus (And that's his disadvantage as a racer) that made he lost control. The text in the manga said "Carelessly ignoring his car's center of gravity, Nakazato slipped into a pushing understeer, His GT-R spun out of control". This adaptation have more content adding the Seiji's braking, i think it worked like that point of Nakazato losing his concentration in the race and that provoque he slipped into understeer braking too hard. Very amazing that this video has a lot of content, more than the existing sources available.
@@sooryan_1018 In the manga the text i wrote, was an explanation. In the manga is very common to explain some scenes instead of show it. In Second Stage and Extra Stage Nakazato used the brake for a sec and then he accelerated and generated understeer, that made him go to the wall. I'm happy to see this. The race being extended like this makes it actually seem like it was more of an intense and challenging race and that Nakazato was holding his own until he made a brief but costly error.
The added moments in this video (where the R32 is trying to catch up to the Evo4) are so intense. Amazing content as usual. Better than the original. Even the small details like the Evos slowing down slightly when their cars bounce on the end of the driveway are crazy.
Nakazato was so absolutely focused on "Not losing" that he didn't try to think about how he COULD win. He didn't take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of his car compared to the Lan-Evo. Or even area's on the course where the Evo would be better and his car would struggle. The only thing he cared about was beating the "Lan-Evo Punks" that it clouded his judgement. Even if he didn't win or couldn't win he could have put up a much better race if he stayed cool. But that is Nakazato's weakness.... he has the "Potential" to become one of the top racers. But he's only a threat when he's 100% mentally in check and calm. But the moment things don't go the way he expects he falls apart faster and faster mentally. So the reality is.. the moment he got passed, he lost the mental game. When you look at the others like Ryosuke, Keisuke, and Takumi. They're always trying to find ways they can win with what they have. They know where their weaknesses are, and what their disadvantages are and they try to play on those strengths and weaknesses. Even when they fall behind they're always trying to analyze how they can get back pass. Where Nakazato's weakness he doesn't understand because its his own mental fortitude. He's just so overly reliant on being fast and is so overly confident/blinded by the R32 in name he doesn't utilize the car properly or try to improve himself as a driver. To be 100% honest.. Nakazato's Eagerness to prove himself bit him in the ass in this race. There were ways he could have won this race but it would have been far more difficult with the disadvantages his car has without proper considerations, and or upgrades. If Nakazato was a better leader and didn't let his Pride get in the way. Then he would see this race would be much more suited to Shingo's style. Shingo's car isn't slow in the slightest and its far lighter than Nakazato's. And on a course with a lot of winding roads, and hard braking, the FF platform and light weight would give them a huge power to weight advantage and would play much more into their teams favor... especially in a drawn out battle would put the Evo's at a disadvantage.
Another amazing animation, your additions over the original length made Nakazato’s desperation feel much more intense. Looking forward to seeing what other races you will animate in the future. My favourites from second stage are EVO 3 vs AE86 and the AE86 vs AE86T races
I love watching your animations continue to get better and better every single video. It reminds me of how the animation in Initial D gets better with every season.
Its fascinating seeing how the quality improves in every video, you are basically giving us a anime remaster. Legend, sending love. Looking forward to the FC vs EVO battle , if you'll ever make it.
I have something to share here i think the main reason Nakazato lost here is because of BNR32's nature, More specifically her transmission R32 skyline was made to compete in Touring car races which means real and official tracks. Her transmission naturally will reflect this as it is designed with gear ratios that are fitting for both High speed and low speed cornering the problem is in mountain passes the road is tight which means the R32's most powerful weapon, the AWD and Turbo are handicaped combined with high speed gear ratios makes the R32's acceleration will be hampered by turbo lag which also means the he sometimes has to hold his gear at certain corners, because if he shifts it'll risk turbo lag The evo on the other hand, was specifically designed for rally racing if your're familiar with the sport, involves a lot of tight stages with low speed corners
If this was a game I'd play. In-between those scene fades or changes, the player would control the car with an objective to complete i.e. "Stay with-in 5 secs of Seiji evo iv" or "Stay ahead of Seiji evo iv for X minutes". It would be a bit fun imo. Great work as always!!
With this, I can trust you with your take on the "Make up your mind" scene with takumi vs wataru. Amazing job with this one, so much improvement with physics and scene angles! I do hope you also keep this music and soundfile format, but still putting in the ol' classics. Putting modern eurobeat and soundfiles makes more sense considering the animation quality. Regardless, it's no question that all of us who found you will leave it to you to make it happen! Keep it up
Why evo4 won: 1. Lighter car 1A. Less lateral forces acting on tyres when cornering 1B. Less braking distance 2. AYC electronically splits torque for left rear and right rear wheels while ATTESA E-TS splits torque between front and rear wheels 3. Shorter gears and locked front rear torque split giving better post low speed corner straight acceleration as tires are less stressed when handling 1/4 of the power while r32 uses 2 wheel drive on straights harming tire health 4. R32 was leading so it must go all out and hurt the tires
That Evo IV is an RS Model and its lot lighter than GSR, Active Yaw Control wasn't perfect in Evo IV and it's slower than Evo III. I doubt RS Model have Active Yaw Control. Evo IV was the first evo to use that system and its basically a test chassis for superior CP9A chassis, aka Evo V-VI.
It keeps getting better and better lord , I wish you'll do Wataru VS Takumi one day this battle was so good But I rlly want to see every battle from Stage 2 tbh I never was a fan of the cgi parts and drawing , this could be an amazing remaster !
I haven't watched the 2nd stage, but this looks pretty great! Just wonder if you might do the audio CD of Nakazato, where he is shown to be a very capable driver.
That's actually a very good idea, they should do the R32 vs R32 race from that CD. The only issue is that there's no episodes showing that specific mountain.
@@avexingvoice1824 The initial d wiki says that the white R32 guy was based out of Hakone, but as we can see from fifth stage, there are a ton of possibilities to which course in Hakone that would be.
Amazing... Even spiced things up from the original.. Having driven the R32 on Myogi in. Assetto Corsa, I found it struggles a lot on those mid-high speed curves. You have to heavily compensate for the understeer, as Ryosuke said that heavy front end really brings down the handling Still though, most of us hoped that Nakazato could do it and in an alternate timeline he probably did.
Still your work looks phenomenal and has gotten even better than the last, from the characters rowing through the gears and mashing the pedals to the damage on nakazato"s R32, and just the flow of the battle to feeling the weight shift of the cars while entering the corners and the roar of their engines, guessing you're gonna do stage two can't wait to see more of your work and keep it up
Lol, I was just working in an Animation of this race too haha. I really liked this result, it's better than the original in many ways. Just a bit correction is that this race took place during the winter, so Nakazato should be wearing winter clothes, not just a shirt, but I know it's because it the Gmod model, but it would be a great detail to change it
just a little note: the second stage takes place in autumn, winter is only in the third stage. Including, something similar happens in the extra stage, in the scene where Takeshi and Shingo talk to Sayuki and have the flashback of this race. Instead of Takeshi and even Seiji wearing warm clothes, they appear wearing clothes as if it were still summer.

Even the small details like the Evos slowing down slightly when their cars bounce on the end of the driveway are crazy.
In america they probably wont get out since they be all slammed like a turd
And if shingo raced seiji im pretty sure seiji would be dead 😂
Did not expect queen of mean to play. Bravo, great sir! Bravo!
Another amazing animation, your additions over the original length made Nakazato’s desperation feel much more intense.
Looking forward to seeing what other races you will animate in the future.
My favourites from second stage are EVO 3 vs AE86 and the AE86 vs AE86T races
I love the way the song at the start was edited I would love to listen to the whole song like that
You, sir, have earned the title of living legend because your content is the best of all. I literally cant stop smiling. Merry christmas m8
Oh a Tako
I love watching your animations continue to get better and better every single video. It reminds me of how the animation in Initial D gets better with every season.
Its fascinating seeing how the quality improves in every video, you are basically giving us a anime remaster. Legend, sending love. Looking forward to the FC vs EVO battle , if you'll ever make it.
I have something to share here
i think the main reason Nakazato lost here is because of BNR32's nature, More specifically her transmission
R32 skyline was made to compete in Touring car races which means real and official tracks.
Her transmission naturally will reflect this as it is designed with gear ratios that are fitting for both High speed and low speed cornering
the problem is in mountain passes the road is tight which means the R32's most powerful weapon, the AWD and Turbo are handicaped
combined with high speed gear ratios makes the R32's acceleration will be hampered by turbo lag
which also means the he sometimes has to hold his gear at certain corners, because if he shifts it'll risk turbo lag
The evo on the other hand, was specifically designed for rally racing
if your're familiar with the sport, involves a lot of tight stages with low speed corners
The R32 would do better at high speed touges. Just like Hakone.
本当に素晴らしすぎる。
映画を作って貰うべきぐらいの内容
they need to hire this man to do a full remaster of initial d
Bro is doing just that only cuz he feels like it 💀
If this was a game I'd play. In-between those scene fades or changes, the player would control the car with an objective to complete i.e. "Stay with-in 5 secs of Seiji evo iv" or "Stay ahead of Seiji evo iv for X minutes". It would be a bit fun imo. Great work as always!!
This is great, not only have you redone and polished the original, you made it longer to let us enjoy the product longer.
The start to my favorite stage, amazing works as always 🎉
If this race happened in Best Motoring
this would basically be the Kei Office R32 GTR vs Mine's Evo IV
With this, I can trust you with your take on the "Make up your mind" scene with takumi vs wataru. Amazing job with this one, so much improvement with physics and scene angles!
I do hope you also keep this music and soundfile format, but still putting in the ol' classics. Putting modern eurobeat and soundfiles makes more sense considering the animation quality. Regardless, it's no question that all of us who found you will leave it to you to make it happen! Keep it up
пацаны вы прост лучшие в мире, у вас всё лучше и лучше получается. не сдавайтесь! жду новых роликов
what a way to end the 2022, fell in love with gear-shifting
格好いいなぁ 鳥肌立った・・・
each animation you make gets better and better! in fact, im glad you even used the 5.1 audio lines to make your own style race!
Why evo4 won:
1. Lighter car
1A. Less lateral forces acting on tyres when cornering
1B. Less braking distance
2. AYC electronically splits torque for left rear and right rear wheels while ATTESA E-TS splits torque between front and rear wheels
3. Shorter gears and locked front rear torque split giving better post low speed corner straight acceleration as tires are less stressed when handling 1/4 of the power while r32 uses 2 wheel drive on straights harming tire health
@@warDaddy1jj you’re right, this trim doesn’t have ayc just checked
Its in my opinion nakazatos driving style that was holding the R32 back, he wasnt utilizing the car to its fullest potential and fucked up.
@@abadibi Its Myogi... not really suitable for an R32 like that. Many corners and barely straights. Evo IV is better suited for this.
Oh this was so well made! I got goosebumps. 🥰
I love that you used the original voice lines and ost
It keeps getting better and better lord , I wish you'll do Wataru VS Takumi one day this battle was so good
But I rlly want to see every battle from Stage 2 tbh I never was a fan of the cgi parts and drawing , this could
be an amazing remaster !
Im not ready for that comical turbo sound
You have improved very much. Very much enjoyed watching this race in your format of animation. The improvements on the facial animations is amazing.
3:47 Painful 😢
Это уже так сказать 2 ремонт
テールランプの光跡で両者の持つ走行方法へのこだわりを表現する演出が素晴らしいです。
I haven't watched the 2nd stage, but this looks pretty great!
Just wonder if you might do the audio CD of Nakazato, where he is shown to be a very capable driver.
Black Lightning????
Yeahhh s13 (nakazato) vs eg6 and
Black R32 vs R32 white race
That's actually a very good idea, they should do the R32 vs R32 race from that CD. The only issue is that there's no episodes showing that specific mountain.
@@avexingvoice1824 The initial d wiki says that the white R32 guy was based out of Hakone, but as we can see from fifth stage, there are a ton of possibilities to which course in Hakone that would be.
you are single-handedly remastering Initial D, this is literally godlike
BGM : QUEEN OF MEAN / THE SNAKE
с каждым разом всё лучше, тупо легенда
Это легендарно. Продолжай в том же духе!
Fantastic work again, I know if my Racing comic ever became big, You'd likely be one of the first I'd approach to get it animated.
Amazing... Even spiced things up from the original..
Having driven the R32 on Myogi in. Assetto Corsa, I found it struggles a lot on those mid-high speed curves. You have to heavily compensate for the understeer, as Ryosuke said that heavy front end really brings down the handling
Still though, most of us hoped that Nakazato could do it and in an alternate timeline he probably did.
1:19 Holy that translation, that was more than perfect, and i cant just remove my head from this video, its more than perfect, keep it up my friend.
待ってました!
Still your work looks phenomenal and has gotten even better than the last, from the characters rowing through the gears and mashing the pedals to the damage on nakazato"s R32, and just the flow of the battle to feeling the weight shift of the cars while entering the corners and the roar of their engines, guessing you're gonna do stage two can't wait to see more of your work and keep it up
この時をずっと待っていた!
キャラのカットインもいいし、選曲も合ってる!!次も楽しみ!!
@@relampagogabriel95 Yeah it was autumn, my bad, but stills he should be with other clothes.
@@Darksupercool One of the things about Initial D that caught my attention is the aesthetics. One of my favorites is the second stage; so I'm going to leave my hair like Takumi's and buy blue Air Jordans haha!
@@relampagogabriel95 Lol, good luck with that.
But are you sure there were Jordans? I'm sure he was still using the Nikes.
@@Darksupercoolhe wore sneakers from various brands during the anime. In the first stage New Balance, in the second and third stage he used Nike Air Jordan, in the fourth stage what appears to be a New balance or Veja
I love how at around 3:00 you can *feel* how nakazato is basically forcing his car to start catching up, which ultimately causes him to crash
Kodansha needs to hire you to remastered the entire series I fell and hurt when I saw nakasato r32 to get smashed in the wall
the best initial animations I only see here👌 perfect job
звук 32 просто восхитителен, прям бальзам для ушей
Should've sent shingo to end the downhill with a double crash instead. Just curious of what Seiji and Kyoichi's gonna do about it. 🤣
Great work btw!
Очень круто!
