There is an interview with ANGELINA JOLIE (the voice actor of Tigress) that she says :"As far as I know, Po and Tigress could end up married. I have no idea what they're going to do to us. We'll have little tiger-panda babies," she laughs. "I'm up for wherever it goes." AHHH..XD
let's not forget about how excited po was to tell tigress that he was the midnight stranger when he realised her attraction to him, and how disappointed he was when he couldn't tell her
It seems like (if movies 4-6 are produced) that at some point Po and Tigress will get together. The reason I say this is because of the Yin and Yang. It describes how two opposites need each other to create balance and harmony. Yin is feminine, dark, passive, quiet, introverted, and associated at night. Yang is masculine, light, active, loud, outgoing, and associated with the day. After doing some quick research, what really caught my eye was the fact that the animals that symbolised the yin and yang were.. you guessed it The Tiger representing the Yin, and, the Dragon representing the Yang. When reading further into the Tiger and Dragon Zodiac Signs and Comparability, it summarises with "The Tiger and The Dragon relationship will be full of romance and combustion. They will challenge each other. At the same time, the tiger requires freedom first as they are very sensitive. They also have a lot of kindness and acceptance." I've noticed a few other things too, I'll mention two of the more interesting things here: 1. During the scene in the Gongmen Jail, when they have their fight in the jail, there's a shot from above when Tigress throws Po into the air, that shows the floor designed in a yin/yang way, with Tigress and Po being where the dots should be 2. During the boat scene where Po comments on her training giving her rock-hard arms and paws as being "severely cool!", Tigress smiles and slowly blinks. If you were to read up on the behavior of Tigers, they don't purr. Instead, to show happiness/affection, Tigers will squint and slowly blink. From watching the movies, it gives you the sense that something's brewing, especially from the events in the 2nd film. I particularly found that after Tigress hugged Po in the jail scene. From that point on, they seemed to have an even deeper connection. This really shows after Shen shot the cannon at Po. Thinking that Po had been killed, you could see the distraught (on all their faces), but especially Tigress'. Particularly after Monkey had said that Po would want them to stay strong and hard-core, and when Monkey asked Tigress, you could feel the level of pain and hurt she was expressing, and it reminded me of the look Nala (from The Lion King) had on her face when she thought Simba had been killed. The 3rd film seemed to dim it down a bit but there were hints here and there, but just not as obvious. Makes it exciting as to what may lie ahead, as long as they still go ahead with the next 3 films, otherwise we're all gonna be left wondering.
Wow, this research that you've done is severely cool and interesting, and it makes a lot of sense. I've never been fond of shipping anthropomorphic animals together, (especially if they're from 2 different species), but Po and Tigress just work together.
There is a Kung Fu Panda show on its way . The only characters confirmed that I know of are Po and Shifu. I really hope the rest of the Furious Five are in it as well , but especially Tigress
Their relationship is much more meaningful when viewed through the lens of friendship and maybe even found family. Tigress is protective of Po and Po looks up to Tigress and they share a relationship of mutual respect and freindship.
Salomike you just have to look closer though. They didn’t pretend nothing happen between them. It’s literally more of a show than tell situation. Like the little things such as her fighting with him and telling him he wasn’t thinking straight. The movement when she held onto him when she first came to the panda village. The fact that she trusted him to train her.
@@alexandradiaz1010 And I think the writers purposely wanted to imply a relationship was building as well. It's very clear there's a progression from the time they meet in the first film, the intense moments throughout the second, and the training bits in the third.
I'm sure the writers want them together but they ain't just gonna force them to be together, they are slowly getting there and since we are 3rd of the 6 movies. I'm sure in the 4th we see a hint of it that they have feelings towards each other
I think one of the lowkey hints for their relationship is that Po always be so tender and careful with the wood model of Tigress, you guys can see him bring that model with him everywhere (along with the models of the FF but the Tigress one always be focused on the most!!!). I agree with you, I don't think there's anything there between them, but I do think Po has a crush on Tigress, but I think she just sees him as a friend.
Once you stumble upon the Po/Tigress ship, you go back and watch the movies again, focusing on how Po and Tigress interact with each other. The more you watch it, the more you see the potential. I think what frustrates a lot of shippers is the fact that you can see the potential, you see the hints, but there's nothing you can do about it. You can have all the dreams, hopes, and fanfic stories you wish, but in reality, you can only hope that in the next 3 movies (if they are produced as was originally planned), it continues to grow to the point where it does take a romantic turn. In saying that, I do like how they've built up on their relationship so far. It exploded in the 2nd movie, and from there, it's been a slow burn. I think it would be far better if their relationship continues to be a slow burn (basically a subplot), while focusing on the main plot until the very end. After all, the Tiger and Dragon represent the Yin and Yang
@@jadenporter1274 like their interactions for their “potential”? let’s see here, in the second movie, after shen shot Po, the Furious Five became distraught as Monkey tried to lift their spirits before asking Tigress, to which she simply stayed silent with a very hurtful/heartbroken expression on her face, most likely because she thinks Po is dead. another example of this is when Po complimented her strong arms from the result of her punching the iron-wood trees behind the Jade Palace. Tigress slowly blinked, which means, to tigers, a show of affection/happiness.

I remember seeing Tigress take that cannon shot when I was watching the movie with my parents as a kid, and I asked my mom, "Is the tiger going to be okay?" I was really worried that that was the scene of her dying.
OMG, when I saw that in the theatre, there was many audible gasps from the crowd when Tigress pushed Po out of the way to take the shot. And the scene afterwards with her floating on the piece of wood had the audience go silent. One of the most intense scenes of the entire trilogy IMO.
I asked the kinda the same thing when I was young and I was watching kung fu panda 2 when po got shot by the cannon I said to my mum "is he gonna be ok?",

in KFP 2, in the prison, there is a bird's eye view of the room, showing Po and Tigress standing in the positions of Yin and Yang. Now, Yin and Yang are a Tiger and a Dragon... let that sink in: a tiger and a dragon (warrior)
Po is actually cannonly confirmed he has a crush on Tigress. More like a fanboy crush but it seems to be growing. In Tigress case I think she has every right to take the time to figure it out cause she's not used to all affection & love feelings due to strict upbringing by Shifu. She's still learning I wouldn't mind at all cause these two become a thing. They actually have a good connection. Plus its not a forced ship. I love how their relationship is just slowly growing & taking its time. Rather than the whole "Love at first sight" thing (even tho tigress was the reason po fell in love with kung fu lol) I never shipped them in the first movie but Po's crush very damn obvious on her. Which I did find it actually found it cute! But it was the second movie that grew on me to ship them & third also had slight hints of their relationship (especially when he made his Tigress action figure say to the action figure of himself "he's so handsome") & bond being something special. Funny thing is my mom always thought these two had a thing & she ships it too Plus another thing is that despite Po's obvious crush on her & Tigress slow admiration for him. They still value they're friendship very deeply rather than having some forced flirting moment. If the writers continuously keeps it casual & not whole EXTEME lovey dovey stuff even after TiPo becomes a thing I don't see any issue with it. Even if we get a confession scene I don't them using a direct "I love you" line or a kiss I'm sure they'll be some heavy angst moment that will make them realize & of course with hug. Cause Tipo isn't complete without their famous warm embrace. Or maybe some playful sparring moment So yeah like I said as long as Dreamworks keeps it casual & simple these two would definitely make a great BADASS pairing!! Also fun fact Angelina Jolie (aka; Tigress herself) & Guillermo Del Toro both ships them. Reason KFP2 had good amount of Po & Tigress moments is because of Guillermo “I helped them out with the villain, making him a little more dangerous, a little more edgy. Romantic or platonic, it's obvious that Po and Tigress are each other's equal. Po is called the Dragon Warrior and Tigress is well a Tiger, and in eastern lore Dragons and Tigers are each other's equal in both the good and bad ways. 龍虎相搏 > This is an idiom of a sort that translates to a dragon and tiger fighting neck and neck, signifying that they are each other's worst enemy, rival but also their best partner and equal...and who knows? There may be more lol ^v^ I mean, there's literally an anime that uses this symbolism to show us that a couple is gonna end a couple lol
I literally shipped these two after the second film because of how supportive and protective Tigress was of Po and because of the hug Po gave Tigress and their reactions in the end. Thanks for this video man! I'm really happy with this.
Honestly, I love the friendship between them. But wouldn't be surprised if they finally started feeling more between one another in the 4th movie. Perhaps will see their romantic feelings blossom in the next trilogy with them.
In my opinion, I think Po and Tigress have that relashionship where they share or know that they like eachother, but they are too shy to admit it, or they are afraid that it would hurt their friendship that they both have. I don't know. I didn't think about it until now. That's just what I think. X3

I always felt like, after the first movie, there was at least something beneath the surface. Like in that scene in KFP2 when Tigress hugs Po and tells him “The hardcore do understand.” I can’t imagine her doing the same thing for ANY of the other members of the Furious Five. While Po is clear about Tigress being his preferred member of the Five, Tigress has also shown to be more lenient and open with Po. And while those two get on each other’s nerves sometimes, that adversity just brings them closer. And just their interactions and time spent together (and even apart like in Tigress Tale) it’s clear that they bring out the best in each other. Tigress helps Po harness his goofy, fun-loving side to be more creative when he gets serious like in KFP3. And Po, as you said, makes Tigress more compassionate in turn.
same. you don’t even have to ship them but you can’t lie, after watching the second movie when they hug two times, she literally takes a cannon blast for him, and he only checks on her after the cannon, you would think there had to have been something going :0 also since she had been emotionally closed up pretty much her whole life, it would take a lot of effort to show emotions in front of 7 different people. it really shows how much she cares, the movie did such a good job with that :)

Whether it's platonic or not, their relationship is clearly very special. Tigress only seems to open up when she's with Po. We can especially see it in the 2nd movie where she's about to open up to Po, but then stops talking when the others join them. She also seems to respect him and care for him very much. Po is pretty much the same. Even in the 1st movie ot seemed like the one he respected the most was Tigress. He also opened up to her and took great care of her in the 2nd movie. These are things they might not do (or at least not as much) when with the other 4 warriors. Their relationship is amazing

Most definitely. As you watch A teenage Tigress in secrets of the scroll. She is an absolute sweetheart....but 10 years hardened her to me. Shifu did show approval. But never was the loving father he was to her, like he was to Tai Lung.
You are also forgetting the part when after Tigress takes the canon shot and everyone is taken out to sea, Po sees everyones bodies, but goes up to Tigress instead to see if she was ok. Did anyone else notice that? (Not only that but he also held Tigresses paw)
You mean the "Titanic" scene. Yeah man saw it and was in fact one of the major moments between them in the series that had me thinking, "Is there something more going on here?" Lol.
Because she was, in the end, closer to Poe and some of his character rubbed off on her. The other members of the Five were kinder to Poe in the beginning and began to befriend him a lot more quickly though none of them believed Poe belonged in the Jade Palace. They mostly felt confusion mingled with pity until they saw his determination and began to have friendly conversations and jokes with him. Tigress was the only one who constantly insulted Poe and she was the coldest and most dismissive to him. She eventually began to warm up to him as well and became his closest friend but only after he defeated Tai Lung.
I honestly do ship po and tigress. It’s obvious that po has a small crush on her. But I don’t know about tigress, she might see him as a friend but ever since bride of po episode, I genuinely think she likes him as more than a friend. Seeing how protective she was of him and how she was stuttering with her words when po asked her about her jealousy.

I never viewed them as a couple, I always saw them as friends. As a kid I even felt that way, it was nice for me at that age to see two characters of opposite gender just being platonic friends as when I was a kid it was mostly thought “well if your friends with a girl, that means your in love with them!” Which of course wasn’t the case, I just wanted friends. Seeing the movie and their bond helped open up my eyes to the shallow foolishness that I was told. This was a lovely video btw! :)
It was annoying because when I was younger, I had a friend that was a boy and some kid was like "he likes you" or "shes got a boyfriend." He already had a gf so it was kinda weird, I never viewed me and him as a couple, just more like friends.
those two for sure undeniably have something going on beyond just friendship, but its more i thing where they are too shy or unwilling to admit it to each other because of their duties and dont want to complicate things so they "choose" to stay friends.
There is a lot of chemistry between these two characters, so I’m not surprised a lot of people shipped these two. There are also some moments that seemed to show that they had some kind of interest in one another. Po x Tigress is one of my favorite ships other than Zootopia’s Nick x Judy.

This is a question I asked myself when Kung Fu Panda 1 came out. I think they have a relationship as friends for now but maybe someday that might bloom into something more than friends.
I think Po and Tigres were planned to be together originally, but the writers feel that their characters would be more dynamic as individuals instead of a couple. the only way I think they would get together at this point is a time skip where Po picks a new dragon warrior. Then Po and Tigres would be free to live out their days as the Jade palaces two masters.
I mean if Legends of Awesomeness is official. Po can't marry without given up his title as Dragon Warrior. Even though Tigress unlike others is a skilled kung fu master. There would be lots of enemies after her just for being the Dragon Warrior's wife. It would be a perfect way to end the franchise. If that were the case. I read this fanfiction where Shifu is properly asking Shifu...and at the end he asks that it makes him his father-in-law...and Shifu is like 'don't push it'. But he would be since he adopted Tigress.

I don't understand why people find the different species thing a problem, look at donkey and the dragon, shrek and fiona and dreamworks always do this. Also it doesn't really matter since this was originally supposed to be canon in kung fu panda 3, but they scraped that idea no real reason and are making us wait literally years to know the answer since she is doesn't even speak in kfp 4, i do ship them, i have shipped them since i was a child and even though they removed pretty much all the tigress and po relationship development scenes, i think they still bonded and had signs of love in the scenes we got like when they were sparring, her telling him his idea isn't going to work, the baby panda, her hugging po at the end, her introduction to Li-Shan. But in the original script they were gonna get married. There also like 4 reasons why this is almost guaranteed to happen: 1. It was originally going to happen in 3 so i think they might do something in 5 or 6 since 5 is rumored to have some of the scenes from the original script of 3. 2.Dreamworks are very good at making ships come to life and making 2 different species a good couple. 3. Literraly 95 percent of the fans want this to happen 4. Even the cast and crew support it. It is just mean to happen. And don't even bring up an arguement about the baby, they can just adopt the panda baby or make it something simple like she gives birth to either a panda or a tiger. Also the fact that when po is almost defeated he looks at tigress who is sad or damaged and gets the strength to beat the villain and that's probably why he always carries that tigress action figure with him cuz when he is in dange he might look at that action figure and get the strength and motivation to beat the villain. Tigress is also developing her feelings for po it's very clear that she does have atleast a small crush on po but we can also see it develop to more than just a small crush, like the original arc for tigress in kfp 3 being he thinking of marrying po which was deleted but also the fact that even in all the shows and the movies po mentions tigress atleast more than 2 times even when she is not part of the story. Even the directors, crew and cast not only of the movies but also the tv shows like LoA want the ship to be canon and even kung fu panda 4 we can see the signs of love when he has the tigress action figure with him when he says she is battling chickens, also in the Paws of destiny and dragon knight tigress is the only one po mentions the most he doesn't even mentions shifu but he mentions tigress. Just like that they do a lot of stuff with po and tigress even when tigress is not in the story so it's just written in the starts for them to be together and also about their child it's 99 percent going to be adopted since they both were adopted when they were children. TiPo is almost 99 percent confirmed to happen.

And it's not like The KFP Universe is exempt from o mixed pairings as they've shown plenty of examples. Heck, people still are disappointed with the lack of Crane x MeiLing from SOTFF. Also, you never know about their children, if they were heading in that direction, then adoption would be quite fitting as it's a recurring aspect. But like you, I don't discount biological births as well as they could easily make it as simple as their children coming out full-fledged pandas or tigers with a few minuscule details like small markings and different eye shapes & colors. Or just make them straight-up hybrids, I've seen some very cool designs online. Po&Tigress could have a mixture of both adopted and bio children for their family as they sort of already introduced this concept with Mr. Ping and Li Shan both being Po's dads. And the message from the 3rd movie of how having both of them in Po's life wasn't necessarily bad but more for Po in general. Heck, you could probably count Shifu as another of Po's "dads" depending on how you look at it. Shifu admits in one instance of Po being like the 'son' he never had. (Sorry Tai Lung) So technically 3 fathers for one. The possibilities and potential are there.
Also just saying a dragon and a donkey, a bee and a human are 100 x worse than a tiger and a panda especially since they kinda make these 2 have human bodies so it makes more sense
Nope. Even if they wanted to, its impossible, there are no hybridic species in Kung Fu Panda.. Unless Dreamworks would be dumb enough to make them have babies... (adoption is better imo)

Thank you for doing Po and Tigress my favorite characters! I do ship them have done so for years. I have to say it is interesting because I forgot what Shifu told Po about him being married. I do question if he does marry a warrior will it demolish the rule. I have a theory based on the pair since Oogway said Po was his successor. I believe Tigress with her new outfit change is Shifus successor. Making both warriors the ones who rule the Jade Palace together.
From what the movies and tv show has shown us, they have a strong bond as they grown as individuals. Although I personally support these two as a couple, there are moments that shows feelings for one another, so who knows where things well go with them for the next movie.
Po and Tigress remind me of Hiccup and Astrid, the only difference is that the former pair's development as a possible couple is paced more slowly then the latter pair.
I ship them but I wouldn't mind if they don't end up together at least they have a good friendship if my ship doesn't sail but they have a good friendship in the stable Bond I'll be fine with it
I used to see them as eventually becoming a couple, but I actually like that they haven't become cannon, most characters develop to become just their romantic relationship, but this is different, and if it stays like this, we could have a screen portrayal of a really deep friendship.
I've shipped Po and Tigress since the second movie and the tv show. I was a bit disappointed when nothing with them barely in the third movie I ship them besides Dreamworks broke the barrier when they put a Donkey and Dragon together or a hippo and giraffe, so its possible but I believe they do love each other and hope maybe they will be togehter.

The main animal styles of Kung Fu are the snake (Viper), the tiger (Tigress), the leopard (?), and the crane (Crane). Mantis is another one in the shaolin animal stle of kung fu (mantis). The dragon style is also one of the main ones, but its a combination of the other animal styles, which is why Po practices each type along his journey to become the dragon warrior. *What really is Yin and Yang* Yin and Yang are seen as a symbol for a balance of opposites, both equally important. Yang symbolizes light, day, masculinity, energy, extroverted-ness, and *the dragon*. Yin symbolizes dark, night, femininity, calmness, introverted-ness and *the tigress*. You can't have balance without the dragon and the tiger. *The Chinese mythological story of the tigress and the dragon.* In Chinese mythology, there was a story of the dragon and the tigress (sometimes a tiger). The dragon was outgoing and powerful, so he used that to help the city and show off. The tigress, while part of the city, kept to herself and didn't show off too often, staying on the outskirts, still helping out once in a while, but in the shadows. Eventually, the dragon realized his power and how easily he could take over the city, so he did. Once tigress saw the dragon's tyrannical rein, she released her powers and put the dragon back in his place. They need each other to remind them of their importance as well as their place. They sometimes get in arguments, but will always need each other to make each other better, protect one another, and protect the "city" (balance or good-ness). Replace dragon with Po (The *Dragon* Warrior) and tigress with, well, Tigress. Po, although a warrior of black and white, is not a complete Yin Yang, he needs Tigress for that.
I do think Po and Tigress are more best friends than lovers. However that doesn't remove the love and compassion from their relationship - simply makes it platonic love. Not only is it important to show opposite sex friendships in any show or movie, but it's important to show how a friendship can grow and how someone so stoic can come to care for another person.
Here’s the thing about the kung fu panda series, it’s very similar to another dreamworks set of films and series, How to Train your Dragon. Po and Tigress have very similar sort of in film story as Hiccup and Astrid do and that may be why people think that they would be a good couple
I have shipped them from the very beggining, but I am still fine with them being just friends. It is obvious that they really care for each other and will allways be their for one another no matter what. Lovers or friends, they will allways be important to one another and I think that is beautifull.
Feelings are a mystery when it comes to two warriors. I like the idea that they could in the future be together, but I know it'd be more about respect and mutual professional love than sensual love that gets in the way of Kung Fu. I consider myself a veteran when it comes to visual novel games concerning the types of settings presented in the series and the trilogy, and I can see the slow build up to their possible relationship. It's plausible, but they'd need a lot more character build up for something like a serious relationship between them. Edit: gotta say tho, would love to see Tigress as a doting mother
I mean if you notice, their interactions have been getting closer and closer with each movie. First Movie she disliked po. Second Movie she respected Po. Third Movie, she seemed to like him. Makes me believe if we ever get another movie, they might end up together. Heck the TV series did have Tigress fall head over heels over someone who later turned out to be Po, so remembering that MIGHT result in a future romantic moment.
Tigress felt like the Dragon Warrior title she rightful deserved was taken from her. It wasn't until Po proved himself by defeating Tai Lung. That she accepted it. It's shown in the past that she was a nice girl. It's more that title is a reason for Shifu's approval. And she would never get it.
I think these two would be a great and healthy couple. They’re each unique with their own interests and goals but they’re also close friends and have a strong bond of trust. I love them, im sad i didnt see enough fan art of these two.
The third movie offers what I believe to be the greatest evidence for the ship. The evidence is in the symbolism involved, and it all starts with “Tiger Baby.” When Po sees Panda kids, he says “you look just like me when I was a kid” to the girl. Not to the boys, but to the girl. Parents usually say that sort of thing about their own child even if the child is the opposite sex. The girl sees Tigress and attaches herself to her. She defines herself as “Tiger Baby,” as in Tigress’ baby. Okay, that might sound like a stretch so far, but think of the whole training montage. Tigress is being introduced into Po’s world. She’s hesitant, and running from Tiger Baby, but she slowly warms up. There’s even a part where Tigress is adorned with flowers that is reminiscent of a bride getting married. The rest of the Furious Five are their friends, and while friends will still be in your life, they will not be included the same as a lover. There is a lot of symbolism in the Kung Fu Panda movies, and that stays true with the last one. That’s the reason I believe they are together, because the story does everything to show it without saying it.
I do agree with your standpoint. For me when it comes to films or anything, love is something that is lead to between two characters based on their relationship and or friendship with each other. Po and Tigress' characters have definitely gone through major changes through their interactions with each other and I feel as if that bond is what really brings them together. This was my childhood shipping when I was young and even if we do get to see a fourth film which DreamWorks has said they are open to making if an idea presents itself, I would like to see this relationship explored more with each other. Tigress would definitely see Po as more of a best friend for her and has feelings for the panda, but then again a romance between them is optional if it works, but Po without a doubt does have a crush on her. If we ever do get another Kung Fu Panda in the future, I would love to see their relationship more explored.
Honestly, when I was a kid I remember wanting so much for them to get together, but today I see them as really intimate friends. I've met some people in real life that are like this too. Sometimes soulmates can be just friends and that's fine too
Except for where Tigress was territorial over the fact that Po was getting married. Moreover the soundtrack during the hugs and harbor scenes kind of raised some eyebrows.
I've always dreamed of these two to FINALLY come together. But though that's my personal opinion. Whatever the hell DreamWorks goes with, especially when it regards to po's main love intrest for the future, it will be good! Becuase at the end of the day, what they create will always be awsome. But though, i will truly and finally rest peacefully if they finally make po and tigress a thing! But we shall see.

After watching Kung Fu panda 2 I was so in support in the thought of them possibly being a couple. To see how much relationship grew and how much mutual respect there was between them from the first movie to the second. And even how much closer they are to each other compared to the rest of the masters. I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope for their bond to change into something romantic in a future movie 😄

It seems like (if movies 4-6 are produced) that at some point Po and Tigress will get together. The reason I say this is because of the Yin and Yang. It describes how two opposites need each other to create balance and harmony. Yin is feminine, dark, passive, quiet, introverted, and associated at night. Yang is masculine, light, active, loud, outgoing, and associated with the day. After doing some quick research, what really caught my eye was the fact that the animals that symbolised the yin and yang were.. you guessed it
The Tiger representing the Yin, and, the Dragon representing the Yang. When reading further into the Tiger and Dragon Zodiac Signs and Comparability, it summarises with "The Tiger and The Dragon relationship will be full of romance and combustion. They will challenge each other. At the same time, the tiger requires freedom first as they are very sensitive. They also have a lot of kindness and acceptance."
I've noticed a few other things too, I'll mention two of the more interesting things here:
1. During the scene in the Gongmen Jail, when they have their fight in the jail, there's a shot from above when Tigress throws Po into the air, that shows the floor designed in a yin/yang way, with Tigress and Po being where the dots should be
2. During the boat scene where Po comments on her training giving her rock-hard arms and paws as being "severely cool!", Tigress smiles and slowly blinks. If you were to read up on the behavior of Tigers, they don't purr. Instead, to show happiness/affection, Tigers will squint and slowly blink.
From watching the movies, it gives you the sense that something's brewing, especially from the events in the 2nd film. I particularly found that after Tigress hugged Po in the jail scene. From that point on, they seemed to have an even deeper connection. This really shows after Shen shot the cannon at Po. Thinking that Po had been killed, you could see the distraught (on all their faces), but especially Tigress'. Particularly after Monkey had said that Po would want them to stay strong and hard-core, and when Monkey asked Tigress, you could feel the level of pain and hurt she was expressing, and it reminded me of the look Nala (from The Lion King) had on her face when she thought Simba had been killed. The 3rd film seemed to dim it down a bit but there were hints here and there, but just not as obvious. Makes it exciting as to what may lie ahead, as long as they still go ahead with the next 3 films, otherwise we're all gonna be left wondering.

Like the little things such as her fighting with him and telling him he wasn’t thinking straight. The movement when she held onto him when she first came to the panda village. The fact that she trusted him to train her.

It's very clear there's a progression from the time they meet in the first film, the intense moments throughout the second, and the training bits in the third.

Once you stumble upon the Po/Tigress ship, you go back and watch the movies again, focusing on how Po and Tigress interact with each other. The more you watch it, the more you see the potential.
I think what frustrates a lot of shippers is the fact that you can see the potential, you see the hints, but there's nothing you can do about it. You can have all the dreams, hopes, and fanfic stories you wish, but in reality, you can only hope that in the next 3 movies (if they are produced as was originally planned), it continues to grow to the point where it does take a romantic turn.
In saying that, I do like how they've built up on their relationship so far. It exploded in the 2nd movie, and from there, it's been a slow burn. I think it would be far better if their relationship continues to be a slow burn (basically a subplot), while focusing on the main plot until the very end.
After all, the Tiger and Dragon represent the Yin and Yang

like their interactions for their “potential”? let’s see here, in the second movie, after shen shot Po, the Furious Five became distraught as Monkey tried to lift their spirits before asking Tigress, to which she simply stayed silent with a very hurtful/heartbroken expression on her face, most likely because she thinks Po is dead. another example of this is when Po complimented her strong arms from the result of her punching the iron-wood trees behind the Jade Palace. Tigress slowly blinked, which means, to tigers, a show of affection/happiness.

I remember seeing Tigress take that cannon shot when I was watching the movie with my parents as a kid, and I asked my mom, "Is the tiger going to be okay?" I was really worried that that was the scene of her dying.
OMG, when I saw that in the theatre, there was many audible gasps from the crowd when Tigress pushed Po out of the way to take the shot.
And the scene afterwards with her floating on the piece of wood had the audience go silent.
One of the most intense scenes of the entire trilogy IMO.
I asked the kinda the same thing when I was young and I was watching kung fu panda 2 when po got shot by the cannon I said to my mum "is he gonna be ok?",

I always felt like, after the first movie, there was at least something beneath the surface. Like in that scene in KFP2 when Tigress hugs Po and tells him “The hardcore do understand.” I can’t imagine her doing the same thing for ANY of the other members of the Furious Five. While Po is clear about Tigress being his preferred member of the Five, Tigress has also shown to be more lenient and open with Po. And while those two get on each other’s nerves sometimes, that adversity just brings them closer. And just their interactions and time spent together (and even apart like in Tigress Tale) it’s clear that they bring out the best in each other. Tigress helps Po harness his goofy, fun-loving side to be more creative when he gets serious like in KFP3. And Po, as you said, makes Tigress more compassionate in turn.

Tigress only seems to open up when she's with Po. We can especially see it in the 2nd movie where she's about to open up to Po, but then stops talking when the others join them. She also seems to respect him and care for him very much.
Po is pretty much the same. Even in the 1st movie ot seemed like the one he respected the most was Tigress. He also opened up to her and took great care of her in the 2nd movie.

Because she was, in the end, closer to Poe and some of his character rubbed off on her. The other members of the Five were kinder to Poe in the beginning and began to befriend him a lot more quickly though none of them believed Poe belonged in the Jade Palace. They mostly felt confusion mingled with pity until they saw his determination and began to have friendly conversations and jokes with him. Tigress was the only one who constantly insulted Poe and she was the coldest and most dismissive to him. She eventually began to warm up to him as well and became his closest friend but only after he defeated Tai Lung.
Tigress actually was about to share her past with op until she got interrupted.

I honestly do ship po and tigress. It’s obvious that po has a small crush on her. But I don’t know about tigress, she might see him as a friend but ever since bride of po episode, I genuinely think she likes him as more than a friend. Seeing how protective she was of him and how she was stuttering with her words when po asked her about her jealousy.

I never viewed them as a couple, I always saw them as friends. As a kid I even felt that way, it was nice for me at that age to see two characters of opposite gender just being platonic friends as when I was a kid it was mostly thought “well if your friends with a girl, that means your in love with them!” Which of course wasn’t the case, I just wanted friends. Seeing the movie and their bond helped open up my eyes to the shallow foolishness that I was told.

There is a lot of chemistry between these two characters, so I’m not surprised a lot of people shipped these two. There are also some moments that seemed to show that they had some kind of interest in one another. Po x Tigress is one of my favorite ships other than Zootopia’s Nick x Judy.

This is a question I asked myself when Kung Fu Panda 1 came out.
I think they have a relationship as friends for now but maybe someday that might bloom into something more than friends.
I think Po and Tigres were planned to be together originally, but the writers feel that their characters would be more dynamic as individuals instead of a couple. the only way I think they would get together at this point is a time skip where Po picks a new dragon warrior. Then Po and Tigres would be free to live out their days as the Jade palaces two masters.
I mean if Legends of Awesomeness is official. Po can't marry without given up his title as Dragon Warrior. Even though Tigress unlike others is a skilled kung fu master. There would be lots of enemies after her just for being the Dragon Warrior's wife.

I don't understand why people find the different species thing a problem, look at donkey and the dragon, shrek and fiona and dreamworks always do this.
Also it doesn't really matter since this was originally supposed to be canon in kung fu panda 3, but they scraped that idea no real reason and are making us wait literally years to know the answer since she is doesn't even speak in kfp 4, i do ship them, i have shipped them since i was a child and even though they removed pretty much all the tigress and po relationship development scenes, i think they still bonded and had signs of love in the scenes we got like when they were sparring, her telling him his idea isn't going to work, the baby panda, her hugging po at the end, her introduction to Li-Shan. But in the original script they were gonna get married.
There also like 4 reasons why this is almost guaranteed to happen:
1. It was originally going to happen in 3 so i think they might do something in 5 or 6 since 5 is rumored to have some of the scenes from the original script of 3.
2.Dreamworks are very good at making ships come to life and making 2 different species a good couple.
3. Literraly 95 percent of the fans want this to happen
4. Even the cast and crew support it.
It is just mean to happen.
And don't even bring up an arguement about the baby, they can just adopt the panda baby or make it something simple like she gives birth to either a panda or a tiger.
Also the fact that when po is almost defeated he looks at tigress who is sad or damaged and gets the strength to beat the villain and that's probably why he always carries that tigress action figure with him cuz when he is in dange he might look at that action figure and get the strength and motivation to beat the villain.
Tigress is also developing her feelings for po it's very clear that she does have atleast a small crush on po but we can also see it develop to more than just a small crush, like the original arc for tigress in kfp 3 being he thinking of marrying po which was deleted but also the fact that even in all the shows and the movies po mentions tigress atleast more than 2 times even when she is not part of the story. Even the directors, crew and cast not only of the movies but also the tv shows like LoA want the ship to be canon and even kung fu panda 4 we can see the signs of love when he has the tigress action figure with him when he says she is battling chickens, also in the Paws of destiny and dragon knight tigress is the only one po mentions the most he doesn't even mentions shifu but he mentions tigress. Just like that they do a lot of stuff with po and tigress even when tigress is not in the story so it's just written in the starts for them to be together and also about their child it's 99 percent going to be adopted since they both were adopted when they were children.

And it's not like The KFP Universe is exempt from o mixed pairings as they've shown plenty of examples. Heck, people still are disappointed with the lack of Crane x MeiLing from SOTFF.
Also, you never know about their children, if they were heading in that direction, then adoption would be quite fitting as it's a recurring aspect. But like you, I don't discount biological births as well as they could easily make it as simple as their children coming out full-fledged pandas or tigers with a few minuscule details like small markings and different eye shapes & colors. Or just make them straight-up hybrids, I've seen some very cool designs online.
Po&Tigress could have a mixture of both adopted and bio children for their family as they sort of already introduced this concept with Mr. Ping and Li Shan both being Po's dads. And the message from the 3rd movie of how having both of them in Po's life wasn't necessarily bad but more for Po in general. Heck, you could probably count Shifu as another of Po's "dads" depending on how you look at it. Shifu admits in one instance of Po being like the 'son' he never had. (Sorry Tai Lung) So technically 3 fathers for one. The possibilities and potential are there.

I have a theory based on the pair since Oogway said Po was his successor. I believe Tigress with her new outfit change is Shifus successor. Making both warriors the ones who rule the Jade Palace together.

From what the movies and tv show has shown us, they have a strong bond as they grown as individuals. Although I personally support these two as a couple, there are moments that shows feelings for one another, so who knows where things well go with them for the next movie.

I've shipped Po and Tigress since the second movie and the tv show. I was a bit disappointed when nothing with them barely in the third movie I ship them besides Dreamworks broke the barrier when they put a Donkey and Dragon together or a hippo and giraffe, so its possible but I believe they do love each other and hope maybe they will be togehter.

Also, I think it is so cool that you brought to light to me how important Tigress was to Po's growth as a dragon warrior because of what Yin and Yang symbolize. Yin and Yang are both very important in the story of Kung Fu Panda and is normally shown as Po... right? No.
*Why is Po the dragon warrior?* The dragon warrior is actually someone who can master the different types of animal kung fu. The main animal styles of Kung Fu are the snake (Viper), the tiger (Tigress), the leopard (?), and the crane (Crane). Mantis is another one in the shaolin animal stle of kung fu (mantis). The dragon style is also one of the main ones, but its a combination of the other animal styles, which is why Po practices each type along his journey to become the dragon warrior.
*What really is Yin and Yang* Yin and Yang are seen as a symbol for a balance of opposites, both equally important. Yang symbolizes light, day, masculinity, energy, extroverted-ness, and *the dragon*. Yin symbolizes dark, night, femininity, calmness, introverted-ness and *the tigress*. You can't have balance without the dragon and the tiger.
*The Chinese mythological story of the tigress and the dragon.* In Chinese mythology, there was a story of the dragon and the tigress (sometimes a tiger). The dragon was outgoing and powerful, so he used that to help the city and show off. The tigress, while part of the city, kept to herself and didn't show off too often, staying on the outskirts, still helping out once in a while, but in the shadows. Eventually, the dragon realized his power and how easily he could take over the city, so he did. Once tigress saw the dragon's tyrannical rein, she released her powers and put the dragon back in his place. They need each other to remind them of their importance as well as their place. The dragon encourages the tiger the importance of self (love yourself) while the tigress reminds the dragon of the importance of others (to stop his narcissism) together fighting for the good of the town.
*How Po and Tigress are connected* Just like the story, we would see the dragon get all the credit for saving the day even though the tigress was helping but not taking a majority of the credit. The dragon is outgoing while the tigress keeps to herself. They sometimes get in arguments, but will always need each other to make each other better, protect one another, and protect the "city" (balance or good-ness). Replace dragon with Po (The *Dragon* Warrior) and tigress with, well, Tigress. Po, although a warrior of black and white, is not a complete Yin Yang, he needs Tigress for that.
I personally like the idea of them being together. Maybe in a 4th movie but I don't know.
I do think Po and Tigress are more best friends than lovers. However that doesn't remove the love and compassion from their relationship - simply makes it platonic love. Not only is it important to show opposite sex friendships in any show or movie, but it's important to show how a friendship can grow and how someone so stoic can come to care for another person.
Here’s the thing about the kung fu panda series, it’s very similar to another dreamworks set of films and series, How to Train your Dragon. Po and Tigress have very similar sort of in film story as Hiccup and Astrid do and that may be why people think that they would be a good couple
I have shipped them from the very beggining, but I am still fine with them being just friends. It is obvious that they really care for each other and will allways be their for one another no matter what. Lovers or friends, they will allways be important to one another and I think that is beautifull.

Feelings are a mystery when it comes to two warriors. I like the idea that they could in the future be together, but I know it'd be more about respect and mutual professional love than sensual love that gets in the way of Kung Fu. I consider myself a veteran when it comes to visual novel games concerning the types of settings presented in the series and the trilogy, and I can see the slow build up to their possible relationship. It's plausible, but they'd need a lot more character build up for something like a serious relationship between them.

Second Movie she respected Po.

Tigress felt like the Dragon Warrior title she rightful deserved was taken from her. It wasn't until Po proved himself by defeating Tai Lung. That she accepted it. It's shown in the past that she was a nice girl. It's more that title is a reason for Shifu's approval. And she would never get it.

The third movie offers what I believe to be the greatest evidence for the ship.
The evidence is in the symbolism involved, and it all starts with “Tiger Baby.”
When Po sees Panda kids, he says “you look just like me when I was a kid” to the girl. Not to the boys, but to the girl.
Parents usually say that sort of thing about their own child even if the child is the opposite sex.
The girl sees Tigress and attaches herself to her. She defines herself as “Tiger Baby,” as in Tigress’ baby.
Okay, that might sound like a stretch so far, but think of the whole training montage. Tigress is being introduced into Po’s world. She’s hesitant, and running from Tiger Baby, but she slowly warms up.
There’s even a part where Tigress is adorned with flowers that is reminiscent of a bride getting married.
The rest of the Furious Five are their friends, and while friends will still be in your life, they will not be included the same as a lover.
There is a lot of symbolism in the Kung Fu Panda movies, and that stays true with the last one.
That’s the reason I believe they are together, because the story does everything to show it without saying it.

I do agree with your standpoint. For me when it comes to films or anything, love is something that is lead to between two characters based on their relationship and or friendship with each other. Po and Tigress' characters have definitely gone through major changes through their interactions with each other and I feel as if that bond is what really brings them together. This was my childhood shipping when I was young and even if we do get to see a fourth film which DreamWorks has said they are open to making if an idea presents itself, I would like to see this relationship explored more with each other. Tigress would definitely see Po as more of a best friend for her and has feelings for the panda, but then again a romance between them is optional if it works, but Po without a doubt does have a crush on her.
If we ever do get another Kung Fu Panda in the future, I would love to see their relationship more explored.

After watching Kung Fu panda 2 I was so in support in the thought of them possibly being a couple. To see how much relationship grew and how much mutual respect there was between them from the first movie to the second. And even how much closer they are to each other compared to the rest of the masters. I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope for their bond to change into something romantic in a future movie 😄
