I have flown to Europe 41 times in the last 40 years. Every trip but maybe three with Delta. Three trips this Summer, all with Delta. They are the best. I just wanted to pass something along to you, back in the 1980's all coach seats were like the present-day comfort plus.
Delta I see has Been very Good for Very long Flights. Sorry about the Bus to the Main Airport. When I was In Amsterdams Airport for a Changeover from Oslo then Amsterdam to Calgary I didn't have to Take a Bus. Happy you enjoyed the Service on Comfort Plus. KLM was very good too I flew. I Also got Tea Service after my Meal with a Lemon Tart in Economy class. KLM is part of Sky Team Too.
Comfort+ is definitely well worth the extra cost. I flew it last year from PDX to MSP and it was a pleasant experience. I'm also looking forward to my trip this year to Munich where I'll also be making a connection in Amsterdam. I love the 767 with it's 2-3-2 configuration and feel fortunate that Delta is holding onto it long enough for my trip this year. I understand the 767s will all be gone in a few years.
Nice trip report! I was on a flight from SLC-CDG a year ago and from what I remember the service on Delta was exceptional even in economy! Thanks for the video!
Wow, love your videos! You are the best trip reporter. Although you are not so frequent like simply aviation, you don’t make our videos cringe with the smiley faces and stuff.
Free tarmac tour. I would never complain about that. What aircraft park at what gates is determined by operations. At AUH, DOH, DXB and the old IST it is perfectly normal for 12+ hour flights to park at remote stations.
On the Delta flight, I’ve never seen the door open and close before so different than other airplanes, because when they open and close the door they always have a handle on the door to open and close it, never sliding it down, which is new to me but it’s pretty amazing, I think it’s safer for the flight attendant to do it without having to open and close it every time.
I wish I had that little old lady always next to me on that sort of flight! Impressed with the meal and also the information given out about when you can consume when. Top work delta. BA etc take note
@@somchai9033 Airfrance, KLM, Luftansa, Iberia or Alitalia before Delta. I have Flown Delta JKF- CDG and they were ok but they dont come close to the European Carriers.
Hi Amandeuce! Another great and well made report, really enjoyed it! I actually hate those early afternoon/evening TATL flights back to Europe. I find it so hard to fall asleep (as it just turns night at your original destination once you arrive). Delta have a great economy product. Hadn’t seen the menu’s before, another nice touch! The food looks delicious, how did that pale ale taste? Never knew we used bus gates for arriving widebodies here at AMS.. Thanks for another great report! Brendan
@@finndenengelsman5666 Actually, I know I'm late, but they always use these particular 3 gates specifically for Long Haul flights and it doesn't really suck for an av-geek like me, but they use these gates for the SLC-AMS route (Unless it's on the seasonal KLM service) and for some other routes, 747 used to be common at these 3 gates but since retirement I don't know what they park there, The embraer gates are too small for any widebody and even the A321 couldn't fit in it.
As a retired Purser for Delta Airlines, I appreciate your kind comments in your very comprehensive review. Please note that gate assignment at Schipol are done by the tower and all airlines flying there, including KLM, are arbitrarily assigned fates, including bus gates.
Row 14 was OK for me, but it’s across from the lavatory (diagonal)... a lot of foot traffic... I didn’t see you mention that, what’s your take on the distance?
You mention using an upgrade with Platinum. I'm newly Platinum and totally confused on how to use it. It seems like you book regular economy and then request the upgrade closer to the flight? How risky is that? Also, I just looked at flights I need to take and it said "no upgrade certificate allowed" on many of the options. Sigh.
I flew to london on delta in economy it was a night flight we bounced and swayed all the way across the atlantic ocean didn't sleep 1 second lol but it was a great vacation
No it doesn’t, I’m pretty sure you need to have delta one tickets to enter, But you can use your sky miles card to get lounge access. Or, you need to be a medallion member
I been flow delta once and when I got first class, you not access to sky lounge, only by using certain card or have to pay it. Only Delta One got access and first class in select domestic flight and international flight.
I just flew comfort plus (Seattle to Osaka). It did not come with lounge access. In fact, I barely noticed any difference between comfort plus and regular economy (Osaka to Seattle).
I just flew Delta economy from Seattle to Paris. I barely see any difference between economy and economy comfort plus in terms of seats. Meals look exactly the same. On my way back, I flew Lufthansa Premium Economy, it was too much nicer than economy (of any airlines) with much larger seats with so much more legroom and better food.
There are no socks. You get a toothbrush, very small tube of toothpaste, sleep mask and some very flimsy earplugs that don’t keep any noise out. You only get socks in Premium Select and of course Delta One.
Odd question but, How tall are you? My boyfriend and I are planning our first trip out of the country and are thinking of flying Comfort+ but, He's 6'3 and I don't want him to be all scrunched up in the seats with little to no leg room.
Wow. 27 year old aircraft. I know Delta has been buying A350 and what not but is it not a good one to change these old birds too? Are 757 or 767 still air worthy. I would be scared crossing Atlantic in an 28 year old plane. I am nervous air traveller. 😃
Is there enough room for my dog Carrie? I have a small four pound Yorkie i am bringing with. Could you elaborate some on the room under the seat? Thanks
When u fly delta comfort plus do the meals come free with it or do u have to pay? Also do u get all those extras for free as well? I was wondering because I’m flying to from Phoenix to jfk to San Juan in September.
Quick question. I’m gonna buy a Delta Comfort Plus ticket. But I read if you become a Delta Platinum member, you get an automatic upgrade to Comfort Plus. So, if I become a Platinum member and buy an Economy ticket, will I get upgrade to Delta Plus? So I would save hundreds by going Platinum before I buy the ticket. Can you do that?
as soon as you book you get a complimentary upgrade. you can check the seatmap on delta.com when you book if theres any available. and no, you have to fly a lot to become platinum
When I was coming back from NYC, as we were climbing my ear wouldn't pop, and it hurt so bad. My mom told the flight attendant and he moved us to Economy+, right behind first class. A whole like 2 feet of legroom. Eventually my ear popped. That was probably the worst and best flight I've had hahaha
Paying for a delta comfort+ seat on a long haul 777 is basically paying double the economy fare for an exit row. Apart from the leg room, there's no difference. Not worth. But it's the best you can get in the US sadly, the equivalent of AA business class xD
Hey, I'm flying to Iceland in a couple months, but I have two choices: United Air and Icelandair. I'm sure there is a United review on your channel, but I thought it would be cool if you could fit Icelandair into your schedule, because nobody on UA-cam does a more comprehensive Trip Report than you. :)
For a Delta Medallion member, you seem very surprised by items on EVERY international Delta flight (amenity kit, menu, etc). I see them every time I fly - Delta is great.

Almost had a heart attack my first time flying with Delta I thought my seat was taken. Apparently they just upgraded me to Delta Comfort 😂
The same happened to me on a Avianca's and American flight, both I was already seated.

I have one of those flight hammocks too. They're terrible to look at, but it really works.
STARBUCKS COFFEE??? ON DELTA??? AMAZING!!!

the IFE was surprisingly new despite the age of the aircraft. They must have upgrađe the IFE

Lol true bus Gates should be illegal after long hauls. Amandeuce you are the best
At schiphol it is very rare to get a busgate after a long haul. Normaly the bus gate are for the klm embraers.

Going to fly Comfort+ on an A321 to MSP and a 737-900ER going back to SAN.

Delta and jet blue for sure
