Back in the early 80s two guys broke into my neighbors home with intentions of robbing him. He pulled out his old H&R 32 S&W long and shot. One guy ran and the other was hit on the chin area, the bullet went through his chin bone and lodged in his spine in the neck area. The guy was paralysed for life. Sounds like a pretty good self defense round to me.

Love these . Don't know the ballistics on Magtec 32,s they do make a hollow point load rated at about 770 fps. Saw a test a few years ago, and Federal and Winchester loads didn't break 600fps. Mostly about 550 to 590fps. Pretty anemic. Don't want to blow grandpa's old revolver apart! (I guess!) Love your CHANNEL, keep up the good work!

Gun Sam Revolver Aficionado does some really good tests on the various 32 rounds. Even some of the slow 32 longs do quite well imho. I know nothing about reloading, but I hear they are great for that. Thanks for the interesting video!

I burned up a bunch of both these today through my wife's Charter .32 H&R mag. Now I've got to load them back up. Fun gun, great cartridges!

Ammo is a pain to find now. All I could find during the panic buying was a 32 short pistol everything else was gone at the gun store

I do own an old H&R revolver chambered in 32 S&W Long and I've got to say it works amazing. Mine has serial numbers and it was made around 1900s. I would recommend using S&B ammo, their flat nose bullets are just amazing compared to Magtech.

Thanks for the history on these cartridges. And yep I would carry either. I know some that carry a 25acp. I would like to have that Ruger 327 federal magnum. And most definitely would reload for it. Stay safe brother👍

I carry 25acp as a back gun sometimes. Or 32acp. Anything John Browning made is fine with me!

I inherited my grandfathers H&R sidekick in 32 s&w recently. Nice little gun and I've been able to find some ammo for it at good prices. I'm buying wadcutters because I don't believe it is made in HP. I'm told the velocity is not high enough to open a jacketed HP. No worries though, I've got plenty of other options and I appreciate the little revolver.

My wife has a S&W LONG for her purse gun. I load Starline Brass with Unique Powder and HP 100 GRN bullets from Hornady. Very accurate snapper!

The 32 long with WC or SWC can actually be pretty effective. They meet FBI criteria and cut pretty good holes. Since all handgun carts are well below hydrostatic shock velocities lower energy is not really the disadvantage you might expect.

yes the .32 s&w can be shot from a .32 s&w long & I belive also the .32 h&r magnum & the 327 federal magnum can safety shoot the .32H&R .32s&w long the .32s&w so basically if you have a revolver chambered for the 327 federal magnum you can essentially shot 327 the 32h&r magnum the .32s&w long & the .32s&w all but you can NOT shoot a 327 in a gun chambered for the .32 h&r mag ect ect.
