@@navjitbassi03that's easy for you to say working at wendy's. For Joanie it was everything. Before her time in WWE she mentions how she was never treated nicely by anyone because of her appearance and then she she joins wwe as an enforcer character and experiences people thinking she's cool for the first time.
Then she starts less bulking and become more over than Triple H who's she's basically an accessory to and they begin dating so now she has a boyfriend and people are finally accepting her; lifes on the up and up.
Then she goes solo gets a few corrective surgeries on her jaw and now she's one of the top 5 names in the company and in pop culture to the point she gets playb*y and that smashes records at the time. Moreover, months later the Stephanie betrayal finally emplodes and they don't renew her contract and now suddenly everything that was good in her life had came from her identity as Chyna and being in the Wwf/e and is taken away and left with nothing. Basically her whole existence of positivity was burned up in flames and she was left with only her demons.
Now she had them before joining the company, but they lit the flames of on a dead fire doing what they did. It's the same as if Vince never screwed Brett and actually wanted to keep him than he never would've went to WCW, got kicked by Goldberg and lost his career....you have choices, but sometimes someone else's initial choice sets you down a path you never would've seen forcing you to make them.

Stevie doesn't seem to remember the piledriver too well at least his description here. No one held Chyna's ankles. Ivory grabbed at her leg (not ankles) to simulate helping spike her but in reality, it had no bearing on the move. Val just executed the move as it's supposed to. Also, I don't ever remember anybody getting seriously hurt from that variation so there shouldn't have been any concern. It's the sitout tombstone that infamously broke Austin's neck. Earlier Austin did the exact same variation to Masahiro Chono that broke Chono's neck. That's the dangerous version to either completely avoid or take extra precautions in ensuring safety, NOT the classic one Jerry Lawler and Paul Orndorff used as finishers.

Especially since most wrestlers say that you only get better by working with people who already ARE better.
If you watch Chyna's matches chronologically, you can see a definite improvement between 1999 and 2000. She still wasn't good but you could see how more experience helped her slowly getting better and more comfortable in the ring. Same with Trish.

Why was that funny? Because your a another edgy terminally-online socially awkward niahalist Gen Z who wasn't there in 1998 when this was happening; and for whom this is divorced reality... all second hand replays told in hindsight for your listening pleasure because you were not apart of this world and life experience at that time (so no context)?
You DO know most shoots about things that happened back then, are by salty people who at the time lacked any and all their current hindsight and where as blind as the rest of anyone else there? For the love of Pete: Stacy Keiblers Legs were insured for over a million dollars at one point! lol
Stranger things happens in the Attitude Era than Chyna being prepped as a female Stone Cold... infact, if you were there and a fan who talked about this with other fans, then you'd know how huge Stone Cold and Chyna were for a few years there.
Ask any teenage boy back then who were WWF fans - in the bubble of 1998 - they would tell you Chyna was a MASSIVE star. And probably a few other things about Chyna that they would love to experience.
She was flaming hot for a time there, and history had yet to unfold. She and the Stone Cold gimmick rose at the same time, and both had a equal push behind them. So ofcourse the two biggest acts in summer 1998 were pretty equally paid.
No one knew that D-Generation X would putter and nose dive as their rivals the NWO (over at WCW) started to overstay their welcome. And no one knew at that time The Rock or Stone Cold were going to go on and be even bigger phenomena in 1999 and 2000.
Just because you watched Darkside of the Ring and listened to some podcasts, doesn't justify the mean-spirited chuckling at decision made in a vacuum, during a time when it legit seemed Chyna was the next big thing... how arrogant, judgemental and short-sighted of you to not consider that (then again, you ARE young).
You want to lbe a sh**-head and hateful mock something: laugh at everything else McMahon did at that time. Chyna legitimately for a time there was a massive drawl for their company. And it's a real shame how she was used and treated afterwards.
She was a real human being with feelings, and she was done pretty badly, regardless if her initial push was backed by talent. And in 1998, if you were there as a teenager or adult, you wouldn't be laughing now at the idea that she was being prepped as a big attraction like Steve Austin.

'difficult to work with' is a dumb ass passive aggressive HR term that workers in all fields use to hold themselves and each other down. Nobody will every use that term for Vince when he's clearly mentally unfit to lead a group of people to the point of criminality. If you don't own the company stop using that term. It's there to make you police other workers or aid agendas from higher ups. It only appears when a workers is being denied something they deserve but there's no actual policy justification for the denial.
