hands down one of the best VW content creators out right now. Love to see the build. I have a mk6 R myself and have thought about doing a swap somewhere down the line as well. Loved my 2.5 Jetta.
I agree. COMotorsports was kind enough to engage in discussion with me about the 07k vs DAZA engines over several days. I really wish they were close, as I'd love for them to do a swap on my mk6R. 10/10 quality content and I'm glad I am subscribed to their content.
I recently purchased their V2 Top mount turbo manifold as shown in the video. I can’t wait to install it!! Thank you for going over these new parts for us 07k lovers.
I think the kit sounds like a great idea. The groups/forums have quite a few people that would benefit from a bolt on solution. The fabrication aspect seems to keep a lot of people on the sideline.
SUUUUPER STOKED for this 07K content!! Not only for the melodious 5cyl soundtrack, but also because these engines are readily available around me (mid-Michigan), and I'm looking for something interesting to play with. LSes are awesome for easy power, but it's so boring. Lol (neither 1.8Ts nor VRs are in the wrecking yards much around here..) P.S. Caesars are the bomb!
tuned of them n/a the 07k witch is rare in the netherlands, guy fitted a IE intake manifold made 240hp n/a he went turbo later. Like the IE manifold more (looks & styling) but i bet that SPA is more budget friendly. love these video’s keep up the work!
We dyno lots of AWD cars with what we have. Although it would be great o have the few cars that we can't dyno at this point doesn't justify the extra cost. Cause the cost is huge. lol
Hey guys! Really Like your videos and I learn a lot from them. I had this video idea where you compare different build setups and explain the daily use advantages/disadvantages. And explaining what parts are necessary to make a „high HP“ build (~400) to be driven daily and why the certain parts are necessary. Thank you!
Its super nice to see that SPA made the wastegate larger on the top mount manifold because im currently running into boost creep with my bottom mount manifold. I have also noticed that the wastegate port does not match the the diameter on the wastegate so you would have to grind the hole bigger on the manifold.
Hands down would love a plug and play kit. Eveything needed in a box, spend a weekend throwing it in and bada-bing would be great. Even a low(er) power application, somewhere around 300-350 would be great.
Do you still have the C2 manifold? They always sell quick when posted up for sale. We know they'll crack but they're an iconic piece of our beloved VW tuner history.
Thanks for the review, will be excited to see updates. I'm building a lifted Mk1 TT Quattro "rally style car" with a 07K-T, I already have the JAAAT intake adapter and will likely use the DAZA turbo (for packaging) and Ignitron ECU, but would love to see solutions to keep the alternator, P/S AND A/C with the Mk4 accessories.
Yes I would love to be able to order a complete kit I can just bolt on I have the I.e. stage 2 tune and I take already but I would love a turbo kit that comes with everything intercooler ,injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and a oil cooled turbo with drain, feed line, so don’t have to plumb into the coolant lines anywhere. Also oil sending unit spliter and oil pan bung or sandwich style bung for oil return.
I am interested in seeing a NA build of this engine, complete with pistons, rods, cams, IE manifold, and Evo headers, and determining if it can be optimized for maximum power output with these specifications.
Likely very interested in a kit and what you’re doing with the Mk6R. I’ll be following as it’s been a thought I have had for my Mk6R for at least a year now!
Nice. I am really debating on getting the spa manifold (the twinscroll t3 version for 2l TFSI) just wanted to know how good they are especially long term from other builds
Idk if you are checking 07k project on fb but I just posted the pic of my beetle with the spa intake manifold I’m looking for a turbo set up and a kit would be something I’d jump on if you guys release it soon.
So I have a 2013 Volkswagen Passat SE 2.5 l and I have integrated engineering stage 2 tune and automatic transmission tune as well and I just put on the spa Turbo intake manifold as well. But that would be awesome if you guys could come up with some extra parts for us especially Turbo. Let me know if you can if you are offering any other additional parts for my vehicle please and thank you
i jave a 2011 mk6 jetta 2.5,will the intake manifold fit above my hydraulic power sterring ?unlike the Ie manifold that will not, tryi g to go stage 2 without new steeri g rack or the loss of my ac ..any help appreciated thanks !
The information is hard asf to find I have a 2012 2.5 and dsg trans swapping into my 91 civic. Do I need to buy a standalone. Is there some software I can get to tune the factory ecm. Do I need to shell out for an expensive standalone ? Is there people I can go to in real life to dyno tune for me like What's up idk why it's so hard to find the information please hallp
That stock ECU will limit you in many situations, especially if you plan to boost it. Even finding a calibrator that works with the specific ECU you will be using will be limited (especially when boost it). So if you plan on just doing stock setup, we can tune that ECU for a swap setup no problem. But if you're boosting it, just go to standalone now or switch harness and ECU to an older version which opens up a few more options.
@@COMotorsports if I go to an older ecm what do you recommend and will I have to keep the stock ecm to control the dsg? It will be boosted immediately. I'm tossing out a turbo b series for the swap lol
Well the exhaust manifold is for any t3 flanged turbo, or with an adapter ant vband turbo. As for the kit we don't make one as of right now. As the video describes we're just testing the waters. I'd we do it it will be for their intake manifold as well. But since I know how both manifolds fit it wouldn't take much to modify to IE intake.
This is the vid I’ve been waiting for! Definitely interested. I’ve got my mk6 2.5 Jetta and once it’s retired from daily duties I definitely want to mess with it. There’s a decent amount of 2.5’s available in yards around here so I could feasibly build one on the side while running lower power on the stock engine. Can’t wait to see more 07k stuff from you guys. 🤌
Should we build a kit based on these intake/turbo manifolds?
Absolutely
Yes please do!!!
Heck yeah I would buy it.

My SPA intake for my B7 Audi A4 does not have the grooves for the gasket so had to RTV it on, leaked of course. That's a nice touch for sure.
