Yeah we've made enough power on these over the years to know when somethings tapped out or if it has more in it. This definitely has more in it. Unfortunately we don't have the panels to be able to take it out on the road, maybe we can get some footage down the road.

@@Tagomago12 it's not really any torque'r. It's just the nature of a turbo this size on a 4cyl, also cams etc. A similar setup up ea113, would look similar really.
I had a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg with the 1.8T all I had was an aem cold air intake an exhaust and a custom turbo down pipe but that car moved pretty damn good it definitely surprised a lot of people lol
@ for sure it would of been pretty insane with 500hp. It was fun car at the time for what it was and I think the 1.8t was slept on at least here in the states. I grew up around 700hp+ methanol sbc late model dirt cars so it was still slow and my old man made sure to remind me!🤣

@@mkfourgli9785 I had a MK4 1.8t when I was in the UK it was lightly modded and tuned by some random bloke out of Glasgow who did a phenomenal job for no dyno and when I'd get on it it'd torque steer so bad I could change lanes just by getting on the boost!

Well since there is no EGT sensors on 1.8ts I do not, at least not on setups like this. The ECU on this vehicle is capable of running EGT sensors but we're pretty comfortable with these at this level, especially with this turbo size. If we were pushing it to the absolute extreme or running, different fuel or a much smaller turbo with even higher boost I would likely do it. For my drag car making 100's more HP yes we do measure EGT's on each cylinder.
I like to hear that somebody else is trying to figure out the rolling, anti-lag and maps switching. I would like to see it done on the stock ecu though. Me7 is more than capable

Loving the content guys! Huge 1.8t and vr fan. However as an avid engine builder im a bit confused. Why are you linking the rod bolts strength with horsepower? How much power an engine makes is irrelevant to rod bolt clamp. Rpm and rotating mass are what you worry about with rod bolts. Otherwise great video guys !!!
Correct but HP sometimes just breaks stuff, plain and simple. Steel rods, 2 step, detonation, hard cuts all are hard on the big end of the rod.... All while doing that at 8500rpm.
Love it! in built form, these motors rarely got the big turbo's they deserved, VW guys are typically obsessed with small "big" turbos "big meaning ANYthing that's a millimeter or more larger than stock.
@@lilmangofast it should make 450+whp pretty easily on pump. However this is primarily going to be an ethanol car to my knowledge so pump isn't as important.
@COMotorsports I have 2 big turbo TTs. One is pte5258 e85 @500whp. The other is a pte6062 562whp on 93 with a snow kit. The e85 sucked going to the beach or any travel. It changed hands and it's now back with a lifted head. It's under the knife and I want to re-tune for 93. I'm fickle and still trying to figure the direction. Your vids help keep me motivated and ideas.

A customer that comes to yous to get around a 400bhp build. How much would that cost on average very roughly? I ask cause I’m in Ireland and the cost seems crazy but then again Ireland is not very tuner friendly
All depends on current mods, what vehicle is used for, what RPM it needs to rev to, quality of parts, how future proof it is, which ECU is being tuned, tuning requirements, existing mod list and a dozen other things. Not a straight forward answer.
Nothing wrong with the tiny turbos 😅 I'm k03s billet wheel can make 250hp peak hp full boost, think I'm more at 220-230hp 18psi sometimes run small blend of ethanol like e30 hopefully later on I'll be k04-022 which i have but I'm looking at the xs-power k04 hybrid turbos
Ive had the k03 when it came with my mk4, moved to k03-052 mapped then onto a k04-001 with bigger injectors, that was pretty sweet. Now ive changed engines from agu narrow band to a wideband setup with k04-023 with egt. No idea how it runs on it all yet, runs but ive got wiringto finish @jpra64
@ yeah, 250 whp range would feel good. I bought the car new 19 years ago so I’m more curious how long the stock turbo will last. 257k currently. One day I’ll probably go for the 4-motion swap and a GT28. But I’m just keeping it drivable until then.

Try R1 Concept Brakes ! 4 wheel st pads and rotors for around $350 for a GTI on Amazon! I am not affiliated with them at all, just impressed! Slotted and drilled with pads! I got a st put on my 2018 Honda Odyssey, this is my 5th Odyssey and every one had warped rotors! I called 3 Honda dealers and got 3 quotes, $850 for a resurface and pads, one for $1100 new pads and rotors and $1200 new stuff. I bought the R1 Concepts brake kit and brought it to my guy...the box from R1 was $387 and my guy charged me $400! Incredible brakes ! Black coated !
@@danielweinbaum this has a big brake kit on it. Part of the issue is the lines were left disconnected for a very long time which also drained the abs pump. We'll get it sorted.
I want you guys to build my mk4 GTI 337. It’s been built with all APR stage 3+ plus some internal work but I have another AWP that stock that I would just send with the car and start fresh with that. I would love to do away with the complete APR set up. It’s been super reliable it’s fast for what it is but I want to go big street-able but big.

If you've been following this build then you will know we did not assemble the bottom end, I just replaced bearings. It is not a stroker.
Precision next GEN and when does boost start rolling in?
If I remember I think I show boost graph on the dyno.

Very low, the short block was provided to us assembled, and was built years ago. I would choose much higher compression on something running E85.

No clue, but it had to be cut up to fit this kit. It eats up a good amount of space.
What size downpipe and exhaust was this running 3" or bigger. Was this through a full exhaust
All your answers are in the video series. However this is a custom built 3.5" complete exhaust, you can see it in the previous videos.

Is possible, if yes how, to improve consumption? Turbo injector with remap is possible or it always be drunk 😅
Well making big power, requires fuel... no way around it. However for regular cruising and driving that can be managed to improve consumption.
I have a cts big turbo kit with the basic T3\T4 garret T50 trim and I easily push 550 with rods and pistons. I constantly blow axles. 😎

the immobilizer light is purely key related
but it won't affect the car in any way, normally it would disallow the stock ECU to start, but sinse you have the EMU it doesnt matter
@@DZGunner I do immobilizer defeats all the time in VWs, and have also ran this ecu in other VWs without this issue. Something else is up.

99% of the time we do, reason it's on there sometimes is because it's easier to catch when it's spinning on the rollers.
