I have a 07 mk5 rabbit with this engine i want to turbo and upgrade as much as i can, right now only running a cold air intake. No tune stock everything else except rims. Eventually want to completely redo interior and upgrade everything. You’re bringing my imagination to life.

Killer vid. Checking in to say my mk7 swap is still a go. I'm working on the harness right now, once that's done I plan to knock it all out over a weekend. 07k + factory daza rods/pistons + daza turbo/downpipe + IE intake + 980cc injectors run by EMU Black. Mike at Ringer got me sorted on the clutch/flywheel setup. I'm only aiming for ~400hp/400tq so pretty boring to the internet, but beyond reliable and fun to drive in real life.

Def looking forward for the turbo kit that comes with everything all in one and you need to make it pick and chose friendly where say if you already have a aftermarket intake you can click a box beside the part to add or take away from total price so you don’t have to order things you don’t need twice.
@@aaron0315 there will be options yes, but this kit is built for specific parts. You choose to use a different part, that means the kit doesn't fit and you need to deal with it. In the end the goal is to offer a complete kit with EVERYTHING needed to bolt on to the car and go. For example there is no aftermarket intake for the 2.5 that will fit this kit.

Only a few minutes in and I have to comment! Would have been great to see a real tear down of a junker motor. Especially the parts you struggle with... like how you remove those manifold nuts and bolts and how you remove O2 sensors that like to "live in there permanently" in real . Details of and seeing the patience, techniques and tools required to do this would have been enlightening. As opposed to those infuriating "simply remove the control arm pinch bolt" and voila videos. @@jettamaster3297 thanks however the issue with that simply comes down to time. It took a full day and half to film this, then cut it all down to what's still a very long video. Making a 2hr video is extremely unlikely to get seen by most. And unfortunately if people aren't watching it there's no point into doing it.
Use a high quality tool that has the least amount of play in/on the fastener, use penetrant, and sometimes on a stud, use a wire brush to try to remove crust. As far as O2 sensors go - get one of the special sockets for it if you're reusing it, otherwise, cut the pigtail and use a standard impact.
@@COMotorsports Ya I do get that, its a 45min video and it probably took that long to remove the manifold and O2 sensor. But the hard stuff is the stuff people need to see so they're not talking out their ass' like bedroom mixers and armchair quarterbacks do. I guess its not specific to the 07K. You could have made 10 x 15 minute videos with all that filming... But you're the content provider and I'm just the consumer, just my 2 cents. Cheers

I wanted to express my disappointment missing out on all the heatings and beatings, tantrums and cursing that make for good content. For those of you with little to no experience doing this kinda stuff, the strategies you suggest (while arguably correct) lead to successful outcomes way less than half the time on 20ish year old stuff. Especially for those of us north of 40°. Enjoy

Buy from salvage, they generally have some sort of warranty. This one I bought random, heard it run when I considered buying the entire car but I didn't. Then a month or more after I bought just the engine from that vehicle. So it likely sat outside out of the car before I ended up getting my hands on it. Really shouldn't have mattered to much but clearly water got in there.
Please make a kit for it!!!! I have been trying to create a spreadsheet of everything I would need and how I would plan on doing it. A kit would make things 1000x easier and would be awesome for the community. even people who use these in 944 swaps would appreciate it.
Def would love a turbo kit for 07k! There is no aftermarket turbo kits really available unless you were gonna get some universal ass one. I could def source all the parts individually to turbo the car but a kit would be nice
Can be tons of stuff, coils, plugs, speed sensors, MAF if maf car... so much. First thing to do is scan it, it will help point you in the right direction.

I'm itching to do a 07K swap in my mk2 jetta but there isn't alot of engine mount kits. The only one I can find is from fabless but that is a lot of money just to fit a reasonably cheap engine, do you know of any alternative(cheaper) way to make a 07K fit in a mk2? 🤙🏻🇿🇦
If you bought a cheap house and wanted an in ground pool installed, do you think it should cost less then the same pool installed at a more expensive house? Just because the engine is cheap doesn't mean everything else automatically is cheap also. 😀 Just appreciate that the engine is cheap and run with it.
Hey guys. Just a heads up, the audio in this video got pooched a bit. Left and right balance was off and then switched sides a little beyond half way through. Perhaps the way you mounted your mic could be in a weird spot
Germans design a fastener that will rust and need a hammer to seat the socket to it or it's not coming out is dumb! But also at least they make the engines kinda easy to remove!
@@jb5nf were already working on tuning solutions to offer a 100% complete package. The kit were aiming to provide will make 350-400whp on stock engine and pump gas, with more room on better fuel. What other option should we offer?
@COMotorsports Sounds great. Thinking of a smaller turbo setup for daily driving. But hopefully you can do one kit with different tuning parameters, using the same turbo. Wasn't this engine "improved" by Audi and turbocharged for the RS3?
@@jb5nf we've selected a good sized turbo, for great spool, great power and all around good power band. Sure you can run it at less power is you choose, but less HP wouldn't be any cheaper.
cams were pitted, as were lifters from rust. For the price of these it's not worth me spending a cent on it, when I can get a healthier one for nearly the cost of engine cleaning lubricants. :)
Remember boys and girls. These engines are cheap, keep them cheap. You still need to drop some dough to produce some decent power. Please try to keep them cheap as they get more and more popular

The kit is happening. But you need to realize a turbo kit to for a transverse engine will not fit a longitudinal engine.

Yes please. Turbo Kit 2012 Passat!!! 07k + 5 speed.
Not much of a market for that one, however there's a very high chance this kit could easily adapt.
