I fixed our 2013 Elantra Limited using this video for help. I bought a replacement VCM on Amazon for just over $100. The old p/n on the part is no longer available but there's a new one that still fits, OEM 28323-2E010. Works the same, just missing the wiring harness mounting tab which is no big deal. The DTCs I was getting before I fixed it were: P2018, P2006, and P200A. Thanks for this video!!
Great vid, thank you much. I just wanted to add some personal experience advice to people who gonna change vcm- spend little more and buy OEM part and not dorman... i cheaped out and dorman part only worked for 6 months... cause p2006 or p2004 with p2017 drove me up the wall... just installed original part and no more problems
Thanks for uploading this video. I have hyundai Sonata 2017 SE model. This issue came 3 weeks ago in my car. I found this video and showed it to my mechanic. He understood the issue and change the small part of VCM kit as mentioned in video. He charged me 274$ in total. It was done ine few hours. Its been more than a week since repair, the issue hasnt come yet, so its been solved. I have bluelink services hence I called Hyundai service center and explained them issue they were giving appointment after 2 mobths. Hyundai service centre is completely useless hence I went to local mechanic option. Thanks a lot for this video.
This is biggest flaw from Hyundai, Kia and any other cars that uses the same VCM Control Motor. It is small plastic part between the link that gets dry rot because of heat, then breaks into many pieces and the flap would not open or close fully and you lose the power. So everyone please just change the Part #28323-2G300 ($130 to $200) for P200A, Intake Runner Performance Bank 1 code. You do not have to spend so much for new manifold. Thanks and good luck!
Wow, thanks so much. Not knowing any of this previously, I was under the impression the whole manifold had to be replaced, a $1k job. This should significantly reduce costs! Thanks!
I have a 2015 sonata with 79k miles. Dealership confirmed mine was bad after throwing p200a error. They sent request to Hyundai to cover it under warranty as this is a known issue. Hyundai approved the warranty work for no cost. There was technical bulletin in 2016 about it
My Sonata 2018 Showed me this code about a few days ago and it was -41c out (Maybe it's relevant). I took it to a guy to get it scanned cause it showed a check engine light after finding out what code it was. The check engine light was gone and then I looked it up seems like it might be covered under my car's warranty but after calling the dealership they basically said if there's no more check engine light. There isn't much they can do. The check engine light hasn't come back on and the car drives normal no issues that I've noticed. Any advice would be great as to what should I do. Thank you in advance.
i have had the same exact issue. it’ll be months until it goes off. i go and get it checked for what code it is an it’s always the same thing. start my car up to drive away from the shop and the light is gone.
Hi i have the same code but the mecanic erase the code and don’t chance the vcm if i change the vcm i need to do something in the obd scan?thanks i will apreciate the help
It could also be the manifold itself, like one of the arms rotating the blades is broken, I’m trying to search the web before I take apart my entire engine and spend $500 on a DIY repair l could’ve gotten done for $200 😂
this is EASY to do but if u take it to DEALER, they charge u from 500-1000 bucks..they're RIP OFF like crazy... the PART is only 250 bucks.. KIA IS SMART ass..they make it so GENERICS can't sell it at AUTOZONE or AUTOPART so the only way is to BUY it from them for expensive price... 250 part... + 300-500 LABOR... and it takes only 15 mins to do it... if u bring it to dealer, they will say it takes couple hours to do it... everything is ONLINE and they still LIE to people... that's why i hate to take my car to the dealer
NEVER BUY KIA CAR if u don't know how to do it by yourself...their parts are cheap... every 50-70k then u need to change ya parts... if u know how to fix the basic things then KIA can save u a lot of money..if u don't know how to fix car or do basic things..never go with KIA or u will cost u in a long run

Do you always have to change the motor when you have the P200A code?
