@@christianmusicchannel8861 so the 3.5 has an issue with the linkage in the lower intake manifold breaking, causing only one side of the runners to work. I’d have that taken to a shop and diagnosed
@S&E's Garage my 2011 santa fe V6 3.5 was diagnosed at the dealer for the P200A code and they say I have to replace the intake manifold, VCM and sensor, cost $3k. Any chance this could be a recall item?
My Sonata 2018 Showed me this code about a few days ago and it was -41c out (Maybe it's relevant). I took it to a guy to get it scanned cause it showed a check engine light after finding out what code it was. The check engine light was gone and then I looked it up seems like it might be covered under my car's warranty but after calling the dealership they basically said if there's no more check engine light. There isn't much they can do. The check engine light hasn't come back on and the car drives normal no issues that I've noticed. Any advice would be great as to what should I do. Thank you in advance.
I have a 2007 and it's the float- it's inside the gas tank kinda like the float in the toilet. It goes up when the gas fills up. It's the sensor that makes it float. But it's CONSTANT. 🙄
resetting adaptive values will reset all the learned values for the system in question. For example, resetting engine adaptives will reset fuel trims, learned throttle position values, ignition timing, ect. And force the ECU to relearn. Which is why after any repair that replaces a major component we reset them, as we don't want the car operating off of learned parameters that were based on a worn part. Same goes with transmission adaptives.
Hi, I have the same car and same code. Bought a new Vcm from Hyundai and installed. Clear code. I have an autel scanner. I did not know about the reset adaptive values and haven’t done so obviously. My issue: car drives for 2-3 days +/- 100 miles and check engine comes back on. Do you think it’s the reset adaptive values?
Hello I have a 2018 Hyundai sonata the engine light began flashing then the car just died it has 72,000 miles on it. It's been down since August the dealerships aren't taking cars in until Next year but I till have to pay a car note. Is there anyone who can say what's possibly the issue
Thank you for this video. My wife has the exact same car with the exact same problem. I bought a new runner and will replace this weekend. I do not have a diagnostic tool to reset the values. Can you recommend a decent one that won’t break the bank that has these features?
You can do a capacitive discharge in lieu of resetting the adaptive values. Disconnect both positive and negative terminals from the battery, and touch the two wires together for 30 minutes or so. Please make sure to like, share, and subscribe if this video helped!
@@Darkblue228 Thanks for the reply. It looks like it's gonna be a pain. Not much room. I was just wondering about the resetting of the adaptive values by touching the battery wires together for 30 minutes.
how do I reset the adaptive values if I don’t have a Hyundai scanner? Do I have to reset it? After replacing there is no engine light on. Is it still not fixed properly?
My understanding is that adaptive values adapt over time, similar to a rolling average. By clearing the old memory, you will only have new (and relevant) data points. By not clearing the memory, it will take some number of miles before all the old data has been overwritten with new data. I wouldn't worry about not being able to reset the adaptive values.
So to readjust the values can you just disconnect battery and/or clear engine code via regular scanner? Is touching the wires together for 30 minutes actually necessary as you mentioned in comments or can you just disconnect battery for it to reset?

@@SEsGarage Thanks for getting back to me so fast.
