@Dylancanread but how do I listen to an audiobook that I check out on Libby with my Kindle ? I can make it work for reading books, but can't figure out Audiobooks from Libby to listen on my Kindle
Be sure to use notifications on Libby. When a book is ready to check out you have a shortish window of time to actually make the checkout before the material is offered to the next person on the list and you get bumped down the line. Also, be a good person and use the return early button when you finish the book so others in line get the material without having to wait for your borrow to expire.
Wow. Never thought about that. My notifications were off. I generally dislike distractions, so most of my notifications are off. But for Libby I should def keep them on.
A tip for my fellow bookworms: there are several libraries that offer free digital library cards even to non-residents. You can have multiple library cards in your libby account. This should cut down on having to wait for holds or finding books that aren't offered by your local library.
@@dylancanread I hadn't noticed you'd made a video already about such a thing. In fact, you may have been the one to let me know about it in the first place. Thanks!

As a Kindle and Libby newbie. this is likely a dumb question. But why is there a wait time at the library? I understand that the library has a limited amount of physical books but why would that be the case with digital books? the very nature of that media would seem that they should have an unlimited supply.
You would think so! However, since the library doesn’t own the rights to the ebook, I assume that is why they treat ebooks like they treat physical books. In other words, since the library (I assume) has to purchase the ebook from the publisher, they limit the number they purchase based on budget and demand. At least I would think so. Great question! 😁
