Hi. Someone gifted me a Kindle, and as an avid book lover, it sat dusty for quite some time. When our library closed for renovations this year, I dusted it off and have been using it with Libby and Amazon. I never had a tutorial about all the features, so I really appreciated how thorough and simple your instructions are. Thank you for providing this service to newbies like me!
Are you able to sign up to Libby without paying for Amazon services? I'm hoping to get this for my partner who loves books but doesn't have Amazon Prime, so I don't want to get this for them but force them to sign up.
@@kagithkagith Libby is free as long as you have a library card at a public library, however you do have to wait for books as they only let a certain number of people read a book at a time.

It also somehow magically answered all the questions I had in my mind as soon as my Kindle arrived, which is why I'm so grateful to have found this video, thanks again!

I've been using, and enjoying, my Kindle for years and I'm still discovering new features. I've only just found out that I can have the time displayed at the top of the screen - handy when I tell myself that I'll stop reading and put the light out at 11pm. Also, the X-ray feature has some potentially useful benefits as it collates information about characters in the story, terms used in the text, clips of text that others have highlighted, and it also collects together all the images from the book if it has any, if it doesn't you'll just get the cover image.

The Kindle e-book reader looks very neat and professional. I like how it enlarges the page to full screen and has several cool features such as options for looking up words, highlighting, and adding notes.

Can you import pdf books from other sources rather than Amazon? Let's say I found a free book on some website, downloaded it as pdf and want to read it on my Kindle device. Would that be possible?

Pretty good- did not have the settings adjustment to turn off the flash screen when page turning - found it in settings to turn that nonsense off. Dang, no warmth settings on the 11. Thanks for taking time to make this video. I would recommend it.!!

Second question when reading books I cannot remember the title or author of book - is there any way of EASILY going back (somewhere) and reminding myself of this. I wish that the title & author were automatically added on to the bottom of each page - or even each chapter!
